This is the biggest project I have taken on, The bike will be completely stripped down to the frame, the engine will be removed for new piston rings to be installed, the wiring harness is going to be rewired and the entire bike overhauled, ready for spring 2020....I hope.

Q&A -> Thanks for checking out the video, if you have any questions drop them here!
Hi cool vids can you tell me please the leng of the original shock and the bore size thanks
Hopefully, this question will not fall to deaf ears, I am currently in a process of installing saddlebag support to my Intruder, and was wondering, how to go around the top part of the shock, do I just remove the outer bolt, put the appropriate side of the support bracket and put the bolt back on, or do I have to do something with the shock itself?
@Agni Dominik hi, it depends on the type of support you have. If it's not the stock VS1400 supports, you might need to get a little creative.
I wish they made a chrome plastic cap kit for all the nuts and bolts
I love the intro/outro beat😍
And of course all of your advice. I have an 06 vs1400 and I know absoluty nothing about motorcycles. Thank you for posting these extremely informative and educational vids that give absolute great advice👍
You are very welcome 🙏
Hi what size bore are the original shocks for the 1400 intruder
Mine's a 1990 VS750
What rear shocks did you end up using instead of the 13" originals?
Hey brother you awesome !! Thanks for the teach I just got last Saturday a 98 suzuki intruder 1400 an is hard when u pass a bump but with this video I hope I can do my self !! Thanks !!!
Glad to help!
Do you still have these stock shocks? If you do, I'm interested.
Thanks for the videos man, the very informative!
I had a question about that top bolt that holds the shock to the frame! Mine broke and I'm not quite sure how to remove it!
Any help would be greatly appreciated sir! Thanks!
The bolt at the top of the shock is not a bolt good sir, it is part of the frame, if you have snapped that off I am afraid you will need to find a good metal worker to weld it back on for you.
@ damn, I was afraid of that!
Thank you!
I've been wondering, if you remove the struts and leave it like that, can the frame take the tension alone from the shock absorber? Or does the struts actually help with the tension?
The struts are not structual my friend, their job is to provide location for the passenger foot pegs and aesthetics. The shocks mount directly to the frame :)
@ Thanks for the reply. Just a thought came to my mind after I removed the struts, I even made flat aluminium struts to give a small amount of sturdyness to frame shock mounts. Oh well I'll leave them on and continue with the project. Have a good day :)
Great video mate.
But, no one asked about the music! So I will, what are we listening to?
Hi if you still have those shocks I need them I’m in new york
DM me on Facebook David and we will see if we can sort something out.
Hey bro what about the other side!
Hey Daniel, it is the same process for the opposite side the only difference being that the nut on the bottom of the shock absorber is located on the drive shaft.
There should be no spacer on a stock bike ?
I will have to do some research! Thanks, perhaps mine isn't as stock as I initially thought. Trying to think about what modification must have been done to warrant the spacers.
Might have had a wider rear fender
@@splynk1 That was my initial thought but the frame doesn't seem to have been modified to allow for a wider rear fender. I'll take a closer look and see what I can find.
Yeah I wonder what that's about my bike doesn't have that spacer.
@@71008ar15 hmmm that is strange indeed! I cant see any obvious signs of modifications to the frame. Although, that surely would make sense, if the frame has been slightly widened at the rear where the indicator/fender mounting points are, then the chrome struts that removed in this video would not be able to seat correctly, hence the spacers.
Hey totally unrelated but some one told me that the first intruders had 71 hp but newer 1s dropped to 59 hp. If u find that extra 12 hp let us know!!
I will let ya know what I find hahaha
