This was conceptualized and directed bu Todrick Hall, with PTX providing the a capella vocals. Todrick is amazingly creative and seriously under-rated. He was a contestant on a season of American Idol several years ago, and has since made a career as singer and choreographer, often with LTBTQ themes. Mitch, Scott and Kirstie collaborated with him on his song Black and White. That one is great too - check it out. On a separate note, this was a Kirstie tour de force. She was so good!

It is a wonderful performance once again with Pentatonix alongside Todrick Hall. My favorite part is at the end of the song when they are singing “I’m On My Way Home” in the background the original cast from The Wizard of Oz is seen from different parts of the movie. They did Judy Garland and the rest of the cast justice.

Yes, Mitch got a heart, but Scott got his scroll for his intelligence certificate (brain) and Avi got a medallion around his neck for courage. The monkey on Todrick's shoulder represents the Wicked Witch of the West's monkey army and of course, Todrick as the Wizard of Emerald City. No one mentions the role that Kevin makes in this video, but even though we don't see much of him, he's keeping the beat going, along with Avi's bass. Also, not many have commented on the fact that above their heads, near the end, is a tribute to the original movie The Wizard of Oz with Judy Garland, but that was incredible IMO. Good reaction.

From the date this posted on Todrick Hall's RUclips channel, this was made in 2013, which means Kirstie was 21 years old. At this point, she was still tending to defer to the men in the group, particularly Mitch, Scott, and Avi. I don't think she had realized just how talented *she* is.
But for _The Wizard of Ahhhs_ *Kirstie* had to be the star, and she had to step out of her comfort zone to do it. The men were fully aware of how hard this was for her and were delighted to see her doing it.
When you get the chance, re-watch that final scene, with the _Home_ medley, but this time concentrate on the men's faces. Scott and Mitch look like proud big brothers; Avi looks like a proud and loving and somewhat wistful best friend, and you hear all that in their voices as they sing to Kirstie. From this point forward Kirstie began to put forth her opinions, confident that they were just as good as those of the men, and that they would be respected appropriately. This is when Kirstie first stepped into her proper place in Pentatonix. This is when she started to become the confident and glorious woman she was always meant to be.
And on top of all that, this is when we got to see Dorothy with a side smile.

    • @margretrosenberg420
      @margretrosenberg420 Год назад

RUclips has changed somewhat since I originally made that comment. *Now* if you click on the "...more" button you can see the exact date when a video was posted. Kirstie was just 2 months past her 21st birthday when Todrick posted this. We're definitely talking Babytonix here.

You should watch the "making of" video for this. It's good too.

Just to give credit where it's due, this is not a PTX production, but Todrick's. He's produced plays and been on tour with them. The majority of his videos are associated with Disney and/or fantasy.
Try his other videos like the original LOW....NOT the Rupaul one he redid with him, but the original Low video. It is another Wizard of Oz inspired video.
Other videos: Cinderyonce, Django Tango (it's a spin on the Broadway & Play of CHICAGO), Grown Woman ( He loves Beyonce, of whom he got to work with after doing a creative BEYONCE 4 video medley of her greatest earlier hits...please watch that too.) He's done a whole visual movie of his stage production of Straight out of Oz...and etc. He is another rabbit hole to go down.
Please watch PTX's LOVE AGAIN original song. This is a perfect example of Mitch and Kevin shinning. Mitch is a breast with his falsetto and higher notes here. And Kevin drops an 808 bass drop that makes you feel like you're in the club and about ready to go hard on the dance beat. I lost my mind and started dancing when I first heard it. I was standing outside, waiting for the bus. Lol

Best wishes from Germany, I love your enthusiasm when you react.
Can you please take a look at the song "Federkleid" by the german band "Faun",
they don't do acapella, but they are still captivating.

Chris (and everyone else too for that matter), pretty obvious you've seen the Wizard of Oz (It'd be hard to find someone in our generation who hasn't).
Go check out "The Wizard of Ahhs vs. The Wizard of Oz (Full Version)" that someone created 8 years ago. It's clips from original "The Wizard of Oz" scenes set in time to "The Wizard of Ahhhs". Fair warning: it might make you tear up a little.
Note the misspelling of "Ahhs" in the title. Why don't I just paste a link? I'm old school. I don't believe in pasting links into comments. Just say no to spam!

Yes, I know it was a bit opaque but was in attempt to avoid the blocks. So sorry.

i dont know if you'll ever see this, but i recommend watching Eminem- Darkness. Its a story type of song, I HEAVILY encourage seeing it and giving your own opinion on the topic after!

Darkness was done on January 14th, but sadly it was blocked due to copywrite. I have disputed it. The artist's management has 30 days to affirm the block or it goes live in 30 days. Hang tight and add some crossed fingers for me!

People may have already mentioned this to you, but what I have seen work for other reactors is to make sure the fair-use clause is in your description of the video and to make the video of them smaller than normal, make ur headphones icon a little bigger and put in center. These are all things you may have tried separately but maybe it's this combination that is the key? Worth a shot 😊

All you have to do is pause the video for commentary at least once every 30 seconds. This is extremely well-known amongst political gamer RUclipsrs, who used to constantly get copyright complaints from CNN and the like.

You should do a reaction to 'When I grow up' from NF, don't want so spoil too much, but it's about him growing up trying to be a rapper. On top of that, it's also a real banger.
