I would seriously consider one if the price was comparable to the ICE equivalent. Not for everyone, for sure but in my situation, it would be fine.... great review!
I drove the Identical truck the other day at my local dealer. It was impressive. The problem is it's too small to use as a truck and the open bed creates a problem if you want a Suburban. It does nothing well as hauler of people or freight and the price is outrageous. At the end of the day.... I ordered a 3500 van with the 6.6 gas engine. I got everything I wanted and more. I was out the door for 48k all in. Granted it's not cool or stylish but 50k plus in pocket is well worth driving a 25 year old body style.....
I'm a big EV fan we just bought a Tesla Model Y but I don't see how a truck like this would ever work for me. I tow a toy hauler usually a couple hundred miles several times a year I just don't see it working, I don't even like stopping to get gas when I'm hooked up if I can avoid it.
Unfortunately, it's definitely not worth the price totally wrong approach when it comes to electric vehicles even the pro work model of this particular EV truck is ridiculously overpriced and just isn't gonna go anywhere
I’m not a fan at all of EVs. For me and a big chunk of the country they can’t be used as a daily driver/only vehicle. And as a truck they can’t tow a complete round trip on a single charge for any race track that I go to. They actually can’t even get to 2 out of the 3 tracks on a charge, much less get me back home. But it does have some nice features that I bet will find there way to the regular Silverados. Hopefully if they go with this screen setup they will keep the hard buttons on the bottom (and add the heated/cooled seats). And hopefully they will bring back the 12 volt outlet for the trucks.
@matthewanderson9912 I’m not a fan at all of ICE trucks of any fuel type. My wallet has been deflated too many times to count these past few years just to keep the thing on the road (Timing belt, transmission slip, water in fuel system, particulate filter replacement, and differential failure) just to name a few from my last two trucks in 4 years. The RST has a smoother driving feel with its instant torque off the line with a much more relaxed towing effort for the driver. Traveling with my boat , towing has not been a hassle nor has charging on the road offered any issues to my plans. Not sure what "2/3 on a charge" means, it likely is subjective to your particular use case, certainly not mine. I hope the regular light duty Silverados phase out sooner than later. The new Silverados light duty pick up trucks fit the average use case better than the "regular" Silverados.
@@kelviskelvis7140 I mean 2 out of the 3 race tracks I go to I wouldn’t even be able to make it to the track from my house on a full charge. I edited my comment to better say that. Anyways i disagree with you. They don’t have enough range empty and it takes too long to charge them to make taking a long road trip an option. And for me and a lot of people in this country it’s not uncommon to have to make a 400 mile round trip in a single day. That would be pushing the limits on the Silverado EV if it would even do it. As for towing, I have an 8.5’x24’ enclosed car trailer. I’ve not seen a Silverado EV tested towing a similar trailer but the F150 Lightening can’t even go 100 miles on a charge towing something similar. And that was on flat interstate roads (TFL testing). The closest track to me is 93 miles one way. So maybe it could get there but no chance on getting back home. And then the other two I go to are 117 and 126 miles one way. So most certainly not getting there, much less getting back. EV trucks are an answer to a question no one asked. And I think the market is agreeing with me. The traditional gas and diesel trucks are not going anywhere. The EVs however may very well be “one and done”.
@@kelviskelvis7140 well since you are the only one that commented on my original comment I’d say my reply was toward you. I’m not trying to convince you. You have one and like it and it works for you so that’s great. They will not work for me and in my opinion most truck people.
@carperdiem8754 it's got a lot of sidewall. You're not going offroad in that thing anyway...and if you were, you'd change the wheels and tires anyway so it really doesn't matter. The average person who will buy this vehicle will NEVER go off road with it.
Where will these "electric" vehicles end up once the battery is dead in 15 years? Will owners pay $12-15k to buy another battery for an old vehicle? What will the trade-in value be on an old EV? Weighing on average 20-30% heavier than gas powered cars, how much damage will these vehicles inflict on roads? How will the owners of these vehicles be taxed for road repairs etc. since they don't pay taxes at the pump? Why are EVs considered environmental friendly since most parts on the vehicle are made with petroleum products? I could go on but why? The scam runs deep and the kickbacks to lawmakers are astronomical.
Ding in the left front fender at 3:20 (and still a NO)

Wow super cool Electric Silverado that resembles the Avalanche due to midgate super awesome

They should've called it the Avalanche.
It looks like a slightly larger Subaru. The big difference is it will drop in value like the proverbial rock in the well.

Just make sure super cruise isnt used in british colombia. Up to 6 months in jail.
There is a seatbelt buckle holder in the “c” pillar
It's already got a dent above the driver front wheel on the arch. Water spots all over the place
Good looking Truck….gas👍
So TFL did a towing test with this on roads in colorado and you could hear all road noise even though no engine sound
Deprecation is going to be huge in the first 3 yrs.. Front is ok but don't like the Avalanche rear.
That is a nasty dent on that front drivers side fender 🤯
holy door ding on that left front fender batman yikes
Someone needs to get one and turn it into gas with a 6.2 supercharged V8 from the escalade v in it. Looks too good to be electric.
going to be realble .$96,495 can buy a diesel for that , what is Chevrolet thinking ?
That ding on the drivers front fender tho....that's gotta be idk...$20k off? lol
Prettiest ev on the market but I would never own one.
Why 24” wheels, wtf? Lets see the trail boss. I understand they want to copt Tesla, but giant wheels are not for trucks
Why not?

@@McBurner007 right, because of the 24” wheels. What advantage do they have? Bet replacement tires on those don’t offer many options either
Ripe for the 3.0 duramax.
