Overall, a much better looking Impreza compared to the previous generation, which looked too boxy. I'm looking forward to seeing the Crosstrek with this body-style update. The interior and electronics look considerably better than previous generations. I hope you sell a ton of them.
Looks fantastic!! No question Subaru is the hottest car maker going these days. Can't wait for the new platform crosstrek. I think that will be my next car when my Legacy lease is up
Subaru has not made announcements as of this writing. Hard to imagine they would change the seats for the fourth model year, maybe the infotainment capabilities? Hard do say. You can track all the announcements here: www.planetsubaru.com/2018-subaru-outback.htm
Eventually, all of Subaru's models will migrate to this platform except perhaps the BRZ. We expect the 2020 Legacy and Outback to ride on it, as well as the new WRX whenever it comes out (Subaru has not announced an ETA). Now that all Legacys are sedans and Outbacks are wagons, no one seems to be clamoring for the days when you could get an Outback Sedan or a Legacy Wagon. But who knows. We just sell what they build!
If you were to add a clear film to the windshield (the clear kind just to reduce uv rays and heat), would the eyesight still function normally? Thanks!
Is the manual transmission top gear (5th?) still much shorter with higher engine RPM and fuel consumption than the final ratio in the CVT? If so, why? I know that was a complaint of the previous Impreza/Crosstrek. Also do you know when and how much the new Crosstrek will be? Thanks.
On the first question, there really isn't a "final drive ratio" on a CVT since it's, well, continuously variable. The CVT produces superior fuel economy because it's not locked into a single ratio. On the second question: www.planetsubaru.com/2018-subaru-crosstrek.htm
We sell just a few percent of our vehicles with a manual transmission, so we focus on the volume models. When you visit Planet Subaru, we'll give you a customized walkaround and a test drive too!
That, plus their care about environment & animals is the reason that for the first time in my life I'll be buying a Japanese car. This one in fact! Altho' that little Sport is nudging my interest too...
Well, to be fair, the hood is up. We were surprised how quiet this engine relative to its predecessors. They even put sound insulation near the injectors!

I like the new interior. Wish I could get it in my 2016 Crosstrek especially that infotainment system.
i think this is a very good car, extremely practical. have a 2011. 6 speed is a great adition
These are the nicest wheels on the Impreza. Are these only available on the 'limited' trim package?
Yes.
hi ! I would like to know how did you get the chrome handles and under the windows? I cant find this look on their website. Is it extra?
thanks
Those are standard on the Limited model.
Planet Subaru thank you! I think it's different here in Canada... sadly
do you think 2018 Outback will get the same Head Unit and seats?

Will the Legacy be on this platform? Think we will see a Legacy wagon again? is the 2017 WRX on this new platform?

Thanks!
vsk10 YES... it functions even with tints.
does it have a actual temperature Guage and not the idiot light?
Subaru hasn't published all the specs yet. We didn't notice one on the pre-production model we obtained for this video.
Planet Subaru Alright. Thanks for the reply.

How much is it for that model?

Nice video!
Impressive
Every Subaru dealer review has missed the mark in one area. None of them have done a review of a manual sport model. Why is this????

it's amazing how a Japanese company is creating American jobs.
