Yo when will you start dropping content for Esg football. Madden isn't going to change and I don't think we can change it for the greater good of football I've been trying to convince my ppl really a whole Madden league that there's a better product of football coming out and it's seeming like it could be a banger fr fr. Can you at least talk about badges in Esg ik you're part of content team and I was just talking to a couple of them and they were saying they don't see that many content creators posting. Please if you could let the community know the badges they really sound like what should be in a football game.
I think you said at one point that Clint hadn't played 2K5 or 2K8 when you spoke to him and I can honestly believe that because if he had played any of those games for longer than 5 minutes, he wouldn't dare say this game is anywhere close to the standard those games have set, much less mock people with actual NFL careers pointing out flaws in his game compared to those two classics. Sapien Technology? I think this game needs a little Fire Clint Oldenburg Technology instead. I normally wouldn't want to see anyone lose their job in this economy, but I do want to see someone be held accountable for how bad the game is. If that means cleaning house of people like Clint, Seann, and Deuce? I'm for it.
Or maybe hire some developers that worked on 2k or all pro... I mean EA has literally billions to work with so they have the resources if they really wanted to make a better game...ugh

The perfect football game:
- The depth of NFL Head Coach 09, with all of the storylines, player's needing know/learn the playbook, coaching tree, the team staff, etc.
- The game play on the field of NFL2K8
- Franchise Mode elements from HC 09 (scouting/drafting) mixed in with Madden 06 PS2 version
- Create A Team and Owner/Relocation options with the creation suite of Maximum Football
- The ability to have players from the CFL, USFL/XFL to be signed by NFL teams
- Being able to import draft classes CORRECTLY from an NCAA game
- Presentation of NFL 2K5
Feel free to add in some things as I haven't played every football game known to man.
The weekly prep in nfl 2k4&5 is still the most in depth I’ve experienced.. being able to study for defenses 3-4, zone blitz, 4-3, cover 2.. that being the entire offense! OL, QB,Rb,WR,Te.. along with training an workouts rest days.. we can also prep our defenses for matchups, run heavy, pass heavy, scrambling Qbs too.
For me it was the one of better rewarding parts of franchise, along with decorating our cribs of course! Haha trophies galore
Don't forget about playing with/against/signing players from foreign teams like from Canada, Europe and Japan. Those kinds of teams were in an old Madden/2K game at some point. Doing the Training/Mini Camp games correctly. Not the new, bastardized version Tiburon put out like it's never thought of before.
@@aceassn716 I have 2k5 and have done the weekly prep. It was a cost/reward thing where you definitely could give your players a game day boost, but it could also cost them fatigue or even injure them. Not a bad system though. Who actually runs their team out on the practice field in Madden to practice plays, especially since you get no benefit from it?
@@MLPIceberg I don't remember a Japanese team, but they did have some of the NFL Europe teams and they usually had some really low level NFL talent on them other than Kurt Warner's team. I don't remember being able to sign players from those teams though. Yes, I do prefer the old Madden's approach to mini camps, I just wish you could do something for the whole squad and use the exp system of Madden 25 to increase whatever attributes you wanted.

Ryan it’s funny, throughout the years EA sports, gives us all the gimmick lingo jargon. They can think of Sapien technology being the latest, but the game looks identical from previous years.
It looks like Madden 18. I'm serious.
Clint Oldenburg doesn’t have gaming technology in his forte, background he is not a developer he’s not a game designer. That’s like telling somebody who played the game operation. “Hey, can you really do a heart transplant”? “Sure, I played operation”.
A.I. programs the game for him. Many developers use A.I. to code, but you still need to have some knowledge of programming in order to implement it. I work in the gaming industry, and everyone uses Chat GPT for programming to save development time because we get unrealistic deadlines. 😂
But with him having at least practiced in the league he should be able to tell the developers what's realistic line movement and what's not
Playing MLB the show as I watch / listen to this video. It's just shameful tbh, Madden USE TO be a bridge between me and the NFL to where it expanded my engagement and immersion with football..smh
I like how #56 saw the first defender coming and then decided to let him go and go after the second defender 😂. That should get you cut from any team
APF 2K8 had actual effort and hard work put into it while not going through the lazy motions. They cared of the little details, something a lot of games and such I feel no one looks at it.
Madden may have the tech and budget edge but they are also lazy and phone it in now at this point.
Sapien technology was a way to lower the resources of the player models so that they could put in officials on the field again. Remember, player models and official models are all based on Sapien Technology now. This is why the models look worse and don't move any differently than they did before.
What's sad is there are still people defending this game
I'm on madden reddit and way too often you hear "a lot of people enjoy it, they're added some things, having better commentary is unrealistic"
🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ just shows that a lot of us are aware of how bad and lazy EA have been there are NPC's that will just hand over $75 a year minimum for a roster update with more glitches 🤦🏾♂️

That would require a complete graphics overhaul, if not a whole different game engine the game runs on now. Wouldn't it? If so, then you're basically asking for the ENTIRE game to be rebuilt on a different game engine. That's an insane amount of work you're asking of modders.

I used to work at gamestop when nfl2k came out i used to put it up on the tvs in store. Guys walking by would stop in the store to see what nfl game i was watching. I could put up madden on the screens and everyone knew it was a video game. Thats always been the difference between the 2 period.
I don't have high hopes for Madden to truly improve any time soon. Why? EA Sports is making good money on Madden and who is truly pressing the issue for them to continue improving? I don't believe anyone with any real stroke.
I also wonder if the fear of change holds them back from changing things too much.
2k where is your game
Trench battles in Madden lack any ferocity or tenacity, really any combative feel at all. It comes off as two polygonal robots mucking their way through nonsensical animations.
But what’s worse is the blocking logic. The AI of blockers in Madden is the absolute worst. Not just the worst AI in sports gaming, no, it’s the worst AI in AAA gaming period.
Not surprising though. Line play isn’t glamorous. It isn’t something EA can hype up with stupid made up terminology or edited video clips with loud graphics and obnoxious sound effects like they do with Mahomes and his diving pass crap.
But that’s who Clint and EA are. They don’t care about the steak - they just want to sell you the sizzle.
Last month I purchased a PS2 and NFL2k5 from Amazon. It was alot more difficult than I thought. But I got the handle of the game now. Totally forgot all about Madden 24.
The trench play is the BIGGEST gripe I've had since playing Madden way back in 1996 and it hasn't improved much if at all
Embarrassment implies that shame is felt on some level. We have established that EA feels no such thing and hasn't felt this for some time now. Even IF you're happy making money and hell, who doesn't enjoy making money? There has to be some semblance of pride in how you go about doing it, least in theory. EA has been content making money on a ridiculously PATHETIC game. By no metric in this or any other realm, is EA NFL 24 an even passable game. This is one of the worst games on the market today by a very wide margin to me.
NOTHING about this even comes close to simulation football. This isn't going to get better any time soon.
It won't until both A) The Exclusivity License expires for good and B) EA/NFL clean house of all the overly greedy morons and bring in people who not only know about the sport and gaming but can properly market it.
None of those are happening anytime soon- if at all.
Madden is SO unrealistic…no penalties called, can’t challenge calls, no coin flip, etc; they are only concerned about Franchise, My player, superstar ratings, gadget features (basically kid stuff)…..nothing like what goes on on ANY organized football field (ITS LIKE A STREET PICKUP GAME)

I stopped playing madden around 2005. I remember coming back to try it a few years after that and was bombarded with microtransactions. I used to wait every year for madden and go to GameStop at midnight…then my boys and I would play through the nights and when they left I would play franchise….it is an embarrassment now..
The MTX (and by extension MUT) you speak of did not happen until Madden 12 or 13. I don't know why you stopped by '05 during the few years of amazing gameplay, but hey, to each their own.

It doesn’t come down to having everything available to them. It comes down to $. What’s more profitable. Do we spend more money to get up to date or do we add a gimmick available on current gen, current engine that will add something “new”. It’s rehashed crap every year. The license needs to be stripped like fifa.
There's not much they can do with Frostbite, since it's also a good reason why the game is ass. Why do you think they reused so many animations from about a decade ago? Why do you think some animations can't branch out properly? Hell, even the fact they hid the SAME menu screen for Franchise over the course of 3+ years. There's only so much they can do with a game engine that wasn't for anything but the destruction physics Battlefield boasted for several games since Battlefield: Bad Company 2 until Battlefield 4. And of course, spaghetti code that currently makes up Madden. Being more than 15 years old at this point...
Ryan, I know you were focusing on line play, but you forgot to mention that Jonathan Taylor clipped right through Braden Smith while running his route. 😂 Taylor should have adjusted his route based on the depth Smith was giving up. It would have resulted in a slower response of getting out of the backfield/pocket and running his route. Definitely not simulation football.

IMO, if APF 2k8 had a franchise mode, not only would it be the greatest football game ever, no one would be talking about NFL 2K5.

Just recently showed my godson 2k5 football. Hes 11 and looked at and said madden is trash. Why vsnt madden 23 be like 2k? All you need to know. He hasn't put down 2k5 last 2 weeks.
That's a good kid. Knows a good sports game from a terrible one. Show him more amazing games like DOOM, the original Halo trilogy, Forza and so on. He needs to be able to appreciate games that not only are amazing but helped revolutionize and pushed boundaries (in a good way) for video games. Doesn't have to be all at once of course. Just a decent idea is all.
Oh! I recommend showing him the Spyro Trilogy (either OG or remake- maybe both). Love that series~

Madden is such a joke , I have friends that don’t want to even think about playing online because it’s so toxic and annoying so they play this mode called solo battles where you go up against the computer and you earn the rewards that way. The only problem is there solo battles has been broken so EA claims they have fixed the problem finally and They offer triple the rewards to compensate the lost time because some people are not going to be able to obtain certain rewards in the time that’s left and everyone once again, saying that the solo bottles is not working ( SMH) I mean everywhere in this game is broken, and yet they promised a make or break year .
Madden is made by people who don’t actually know football. Yet alone have played it probably. Without people who have played the game involved it will forever be dogshit. The lack of attention to o line and d line play is disgusting. And that’s the basis of the game.

i dont care what anyone says to me about it but i will continue to prove that frostbite is the direct cause of most issues in these games. If anyone needs to understand how much of a hinderance that game engine is? Look at UFC 5 for 10 minutes. They made FOUR games with variable refs to Herb Dean being the only ref in the game. why? Frostbite ruins everything it touches. NCAA WILL suck if it ever releases but hey itll be pretty right?
Frostbite was only made for Battlefield- and even then, for the (at the time) impressive destruction physics it used to boast during BF Bad Company 2, BF3 & BF4 days.
I can't even play this game! I try and try to get hyped, but once I play this game, I get ultimate disappointment. It's sad when games that football games, That were on the Ps2 and Xbox orig played far better than this pole of trash. Im hoping Ncaa College Football 25, and Maximun Football be great playing games. If so that may be the last time I play a Madden title, because there will be mods.
