Adding to the tip of the moon phases, the game is based in allignments with the angels and the demons. This includes the ending depending on choices players made. A full moon will relax angelic based enemies (anyone who would be alligned with them, normally with a moveset that has healing and hama moves) and New moon affects demonic based enemies (normally with mudo and aliments skills like succubus). in truth someone could make a grid (might take awhile) to see which enemies are which are affected by new and full moon. The test would be on either moon phase and just attempting to talk to them, if they are happy then its a go, if not then their phase is on the other side and they are not you are unable to recruit This game is also based in rules of 5 meaning enemies will run away if you are 5 levels above theirs, only certain types will stay agressive even though you're so far up like a basilisk. Something that the game doesn't tell you is if your allies die and you revive them during battle, they revive in your stock, to bring them out again to the front you would have to use the change option on your character's turn and put them into the empty slot. This of course applies to other demons in your stock that didn't die to fill that empty frontline slot in battle
Here is my tip, status effects. Sleep and confusion are just soooo sooo good. I have no clue what charm or mirage does but found sleep and confusion just to be the best effects since they usually stop full turns.
charm works how it does in other rpg's immobilizes your party members actions causes them to attack other members of the party or use a support move on the enemy
@@zatchbells No, that's how confusion works. Charm only imobilises enemies in V. While Mirage drastically lowers the demon's accuracy and has a chance of changing their target. Great for making enemies burn through their press turns.

I feel like this was tailored for me as I'm just over that boss battle you were showing lol. Great vid, I'm a newcomer to the series and found it really helpful (for the love of god I did NOT have one single clue of what the moon did). Maybe one thing you could do is a viable mons sort of video? I mean, what I'm doing right now when summoning a new daemon is looking at elemental damage and then the stats for magic and strength to get a rough idea if it'll be any good, or move set if it's more of a healer. But I don't know... it is my first SMT game and I feel like I might be missing out on some that could be really awesome
Since you fuse demons away anyway, the 'viable' demons are only really important later in the game, but honestly the majority of demons are useful for something, they just don't stay useful usually for very long
Maybe you could do a suggestion video with nice demons to have or to look for at the beginning of the game. Awesome vídeo as always man thanks for all the help and infos.
This is my first time playing a smt game and i picked hard mode and it was really easy until the nuwa boss fight because almost my whole stock of demons were weak to electricity or just low level fusion materials so i am currently grinding so i can make higher fusion demons and immunities
Pokémon is really hard too. People talk about it as if it was a baby's game but I can guarantee you that a random NPC in one of the optional Battle areas wipes the floor with any random player any day of the week. When I lose at Shin Megami Tensei games I get super angry, but when I lose at Pokémon it makes me feel bad inside. You can lose so badly in Pokémon that it can make rethink all your life's decisions. Shin Megami Tensei games as good as they are use difficulty to hide the many small flaws each iteration of the game has, Pokémon just saves its soul crushing challenges for the post-game
@@lubbo5261 I'm serious. Play through the Battle Maison in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire or the Battle Tower in Sword/Shield and you'll understand what I meant in my comment. You will either need the best Pokémon or to be really good at the game to win even a few battles.
I chose Hard as a newcomer to the series because I always go for the harder option. Gotta say that I like the challenge so far, although one thing they could've changed is when your demon slots are full and you get a new one. I'd like to have the option to replace it immediately, rather than talking to another once I got a free slot.
I'd also add that having a few Smoke Balls on hand at all times is a really good idea. If you run into something way stronger than you or a battle's going poorly, using it is a guaranteed escape so long as it's not a boss. Along with that, due to the rather small item limit for many items, if you think you need to use one, _do it._ A Soma isn't any good if you're dead and if you find another after you have the max amount you basically lost another Soma you could've used. I don't know if an item in a chest goes back if you have a full stock of them (I haven't run into it yet) but you straight-up lost them in some of the previous games. I'm pretty sure the per-item limit (which I think started in SMT IV) is to both keep you from breaking the battle system using all kinds of Bead Chains or Somas or Chakra Pots or whatever but to also encourage their use when needed.
If you pick up an item from a treasure box that you're already at the carry limit for, it'll just bounce off Nahobino and the treasure icon will stay on the screen, even though you broke the box. And yes, you can go back and pick it up later.
@@OyVeey Yeah, shortly after I had posted that, I picked up some essence or other that I already had. Keeping on the map instead disappearing and reappearing later was a good call on the dev's part. It's always nice when a game puts the item back if you can't hold anymore. The only issue is remembering later if it's some really good or rare.
If you pick up an item from a treasure chest and you're already at the limit, then the item goes back to the chest until there's space. However, items you pick up from your navigator, from Miiman rescues at Gustave's shop, or from item exchanges with certain demons in the map are lost for good if you have full capacity already.
