Damage of HESH is random. Sometimes hitting side armor of BT-5/BT-7s, Panzer IIIs, Stuarts, T-26 and etc. wont event do slight damage let alone kill them. But still I love this vehicle lol
HESH is artificially nerfed as it doesn’t over pressure through the roof armour like normal HE does. HESH with over 150mm of pen can be worse the HE with 60mm of pen
HESH works not random... It's an special HE-Shell that uses the Armor of an tank against him.... So hitting tracks or spaced armor logically deals no to minor damage only
@@danielprovin3855 If I mentioned that hitting any objects like tracks and so on, then yes, you would have been right. There has been countless times where I hit the side armor of Panzer III and specially BT series (lower side hull, between the upper track and lower tracks). Also I guess all of us till now learned how HE or simply chemical rounds work, if it hits an object like spaced armor or as you said tracks, ofc it wont deal lots of damage unless penetration of that chemical round is greater than or enough for needed penetration

Hesh in war thunder is the definition of high-risk high reward you either kill the enemy in one shot or just barely damage the enemy tank.

Man HASH is very good 👍. I think it has an APHE with 2kg of TNT. I think that Round will do better
It's good for breaking barrels at high tier and it can still be used in 7.0 matches because it has enough high explosive material inside of a squash head that it just shatters the armor it hits although it's a lot easier to use the m48 a2c with its squash head as it has higher penetration value and it's a bit quicker causing it to be more deadly

I found the HEAT rounds on this to be much more effective than the HESH.
Really? Haven’t tried HEAT myself, yet. But I can’t say I have any complaints about the HESH, it’s been very effective for me.

Hard to aim, slow, bad reverse, bad turret rotation, it cant shot in the front, no armor, all crew is expose, bad reload time, to big, really bad turning radius.
