Salamanders are so underrated for their beauty and importance in the ecosystem. I plan on getting a tiger and enjoy learning how personable and entertaining some species can be to keep. Plus they're darn cute!
Once upon a time I was at Barton creek with some friends just exploring and it ended up getting way too dark too fast. And we ended up getting lost in the middle of the forest in the pouring rain. It was such a mess.
Gotta remember the Texas Blind Salamander and San Marcos Salamander you can find in San Marcos right down the road! Of course those are just an aquatic species.
Cool salamanders!:) I have one fire salamander at home, and he is amazing pet. They are really intresting to observe.Make one video about skink pleaseeee
MY LIFE IS A BIT OF A MESS BUT I LIKE IT THAT WAY BETWEEN JUGGLING SCHOOL WORK DOZENS OF ANIMALS AND A CONSTANT DRIVE TO EXPLORE THINGS CAN GET HECTIC BUT ONE THING STAYS THE SAME A BURNING PASSION FOR WILDLIFE AND A DESIRE TO PRESERVE THE BIODIVERSITY OF OUR WORLD THROUGH CONSERVATION AND ANIMAL CARE
Probably won't be working with any knobtails but you never know! I'm for the large part going to be sticking with the less common or well-known geckos.
We went looking for them yesterday for about an hour or 2 at the Greenbelt area. Lifted up every single rock we could find. It was a nice day and still wet from the downpour the day before. I got nothing...just worms and a scorpion. What time of day and time of year should we go? I see this was posted March 31st. Did you go in March? Thanks! My kids love your channel!
I really love salamanders we have those really long salamamder that look like eels with tiny feet in my pond they are an incredible animals saw one that was nearly 2 feet
you are a very intelligent young man I really enjoy watching your videos and your beautiful animals !! good luck with college you'll ace your courses ;-) :-) :-) :-) ♥♥♥♥❇❇❇♥♥♥♥❇❇❇:-) :-) :-)
Pretty crazy that over here in the east, slimy salamanders are kind of the norm, but in Texas they’re something quite special. And also u are pretty brave for picking up that wolf spider. Correct me if I’m wrong but they do sometimes bite, right?
Evan Kaiafas yes they are realy agresive But they are not venomus and there bites do not hurt that much i live in Norway so our biggest spiders are the wolf spiders of europe
They're very venomous, but not enough to be dangerous and not aggressive in the slightest. They do bite on occasion and supposedly it hurts quite a bit, but they only do so when they feel threatened, so if they're handled gently there's minimal risk. Same is true for almost all spider species
I find salamanders that look exaclty like these all the time here in PA and they get around 4 to 5 inches. I don't know if it's the same species though.
If it's not the same species it's very similar! Like Kenneth explained, the ones around here are dwarfed because of the small spaces they're isolated to.
Hey I love the videos! I got an Asian Forest Scorpions around a month ago and he still hasn't eaten yet. Is this normal? I read they can go a while without eating but it still worries me
I had a flat rock scorpion go without food for two years before passing away, and I still have no clue what was up with it. My advice is to double-check all your environmental conditions, make sure it's at the right temp and humidity, has enough places to hide, etc. I'm sure you've done plenty of research but more never hurts!
AfroHerpkeeper I've been checking everything daily, and making sure it's all okay. I've read some scorpions can live up to a year without food but it still worries me. Thanks for the advice!
AfroHerpKeeper, is taking care off a Argentine Black and White Tagu Hard i wanted to ask you because you have experience with them also can you get Argentine Black and White Tagu in England?
You sure can if you look in the right places - I wouldn't know where but asking around at exotic pet stores or doing some googling would help. They're not beginner lizards by a long shot - an adult can rip into you with its teeth and claws, and they don't all tame down as well as Blue. They make fantastic pets once you have some reptile experience and can spend enough time to tame them down!
thank you i already have a Crested Gecko and Golden Skink i have seen lost of your video about Blue I am also thinking about getting a trantualla if you could make a a video explaining how to hold the and all the feeding and watering requirements i would greatly appreciate it
They don't grow any bigger in captivity than they would in the wild, so like Kenneth said it depends on where they're from - the Texan ones will only get a few inches long, the more eastern ones will reach 4-6"
I have a question, I live in the UK and I was wondering if I only need a heat mat for a garter snake and if I can keep the garter snake in a tub like yours?? Thx
Update on ALL my animals comes out NEXT WEEKEND! Enjoy this one for the time being and have a good week!

Probably won't be working with any knobtails but you never know! I'm for the large part going to be sticking with the less common or well-known geckos.

Well atleast where I live
skink vid please
If you look at some of my videos you will see how many salamanders (well technically newts) there are in Nocal
I don’t see why he did that as the beginning
I'm jealous, my area of Austin I never see salamanders.
The greenbelt is swarming with 'em if you know where to look.
Do five lined skinks make good pets?

Thought you were gonna keep one as a pet lol
I really want to expand into newts and salamanders, but for now I'm working on building up my geckos and cockroaches!
Room tour?
I know you found the salamanders under a rock but more salamanders hide under rotten wood fallen on the ground
Hey I love the videos! I got an Asian Forest Scorpions around a month ago and he still hasn't eaten yet. Is this normal? I read they can go a while without eating but it still worries me

Some of em do have an adjustment period and some will naturally go for months without food after a big meal - best of luck!
AfroHerpkeeper Thanks!
Henlo
What city in Texas do you live in I live in the small town of Perryton
Lago Vista, just under an hour from Austin

They don't grow any bigger in captivity than they would in the wild, so like Kenneth said it depends on where they're from - the Texan ones will only get a few inches long, the more eastern ones will reach 4-6"
