I wished I could wrap my head around portrait paintings. You are incredible .
Thank you!
My screen has never been happier.
Glad to hear that!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I find loomis and Reilly can be great methods when building portraits from scratch, and like yourself I find a block in combined with prioritising general areas and moving to the specifics later in the process tends to be great when working from reference. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Loomis and Reilly methods. I'll have to explore those more thoroughly sometime. Thanks for subscribing!
You are a great master artists sir
Thank you!
I tried that painting the eye sockets first and ended up unable to get lighter colors to stick on top just turned into gruesome mud. I was a newbie then maybe now I’m a solid beginner I’ll try again.🤩👍⭐️
I would let it dry after you see that starting to happen. Or you can remove all the paint while it's wet in that area and start over
How many brushes do you usually use during a painting? Like do you use the same brush and just keep cleaning it between colors or do you have different brushes for lighter and darker colors?
Normally I just stick with the same few brushes and clean between color changes with linseed oil or orderless mineral spirits
@@joshsorrell thanks for the reply. Really love your stuff
