    Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I find loomis and Reilly can be great methods when building portraits from scratch, and like yourself I find a block in combined with prioritising general areas and moving to the specifics later in the process tends to be great when working from reference.     I tried that painting the eye sockets first and ended up unable to get lighter colors to stick on top just turned into gruesome mud. I was a newbie then maybe now I’m a solid beginner I’ll try again.🤩👍⭐️

      I would let it dry after you see that starting to happen. Or you can remove all the paint while it's wet in that area and start over

    How many brushes do you usually use during a painting? Like do you use the same brush and just keep cleaning it between colors or do you have different brushes for lighter and darker colors?

      Normally I just stick with the same few brushes and clean between color changes with linseed oil or orderless mineral spirits

      I use an impressionist style palette of 11 colors to make my own custom mixes from the colors below.
      Ultramarine blue
      Phthalo blue
      Burnt umber
      Burnt sienna
      Alizarin Claret
      Cadmium red
      Cadmium orange
      Yellow ochre
      Cadmium yellow
      Cadmium yellow light
      Titanium white
