- Joe Walsh Guitarist of the Eagles and the James Gang. A Lesson that Life's Been Good. This is an inside look at Joe and some of the ups and downs in his life and career. Including the death of his 3 y/o daughter Emma. Joe has always been a favorite of mine and I guess I am a little biased when talking about him. I still think he should be rated at the top of the list when it comes to rock & roll guitarists. Life's Been Good, Funk 49 and Rocky Mountain Way. Hope you enjoy this and subscribe to the channel.

Joe Walsh gave "The Eagles" their balls. There would be no Hotel California without him.
Or ....Life in the Fast Lane.
He took a step down to be an Eagle.
I was a kid old enough to ride a bicycle heading to the album factory in HAUPPAUGE L.I. N. Y. in the dumpster was a warped "JAMES GANG RIDES AGAIN" album. I took it home heated it up over the gas stove burner! Wow! What a find!
Great story!!!! Thanks for sharing!
Great Album
Hahaha...
As a guitar player for 40 yrs now, Walsh has always been my guy.
Had the pleasure & privilege of meeting him several times and he was always kind & generous.
Levittown L.I.N.Y.
Cheers Hauppauge 🍷
Gas stove burner? Did you keep it under something heavy as it cooled? I ironed a Replacements album that was warped for a fraction of a second in between a dry mounting board and a flat kitchen table. A failure as the record flattened but the grooves in the record were practically eradicated. I imagine there are a myriad of vids on how to unwarp a record. Definitely a subject not explored fully.
An incredible artist, one of the most iconic things that he has said is “ I liked being 20 in the 70’s better than being 70 in the 20’s, something I think we all feel from that era. The music was the best🎶
He definitely appreciates veterans. And a kick ass guitarist….🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I saw Joe play a free concert for the military in 1991 at Ft Riley, KS. He was terrific, as he always is, and the fact that he gave his time for our military always meant a lot to me, thank you Mr Walsh. Joe's guitar playing is the soundtrack of my life. I can hear one of Joe's old songs and go right back to that point in my life, if only for a moment. Sometimes people imprint on us, even people we don't know or have never met. Joes music imprinted on me. I bet Joe would be surprised by how many lives he touched with his playing and singing, my eternal respect, A Friend of Bills
Ditto I a retired military person and we were always happy when a alRnR group or person would visit our base for a concert and talk to us sign autographs pictures etc
I saw Joe that year, too, 1991. He opened up for the Doobie Brothers in Dallas, Texas.
Saw joe walsh 3 years after my dad died in 2017 helped me get on with my life and inspired me to learn guitar. Love ya man id vote for you for president
Big Red One, hua.
I agree with you 100% about Walsh and Felder. It was magical when they played together.
agree The Eagle were never the same after he and Randy left
Best who cut the cheese faces ever
Yes
I went to the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and watched the Eagles hell freezes over tour A night many many years ago but still fresh in my mind
@@oldermusicloverJoe never left the eagles.
Joe Walsh - a legend in his own time. The guy is a genius!
Joe is truly an ORDINARY AVERAGE GUY from Ohio who just happens to be a Rock genius! I am an amateur musician and the most fun thing for me to do is strap on my electric guitar, plug into my amp and wail away on "Life's Been Good!" This ALWAYS guarantees me a smile. ☺
GOD bless Joe Walsh!
Love Joe Walsh always and forever
Thumbs up, he’s a great guitarist👍🏼🎸😎💖 I am like you I love Joe Walsh to like I said, I hope he lives in a long time🎸
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️
Joe is one of the nicest guys in the music biz! His advice, "never play it the same way twice, just make sure they like it" rings in my ears every time I'm on stage. I love his poking fun at digital music, and digital recording. His song "analog man" is, and will always be one of my favorites! Old fashioned nice guys are hard to come by sometimes, Joe will always be one. 8) --gary.
that's hilarious I have been absolutely berating myself trying to learn the solos in hotel California and get every note exactly the way everyone on RUclips is saying it has to be played, then I saw so e if the live versions!😂 I was like they're not playing it like on the album, then I realized wait it's their song I guess they can do whatever they want!
I'm 71, still gigging, and I stopped the note for note thing many years ago. I play what sounds good to me, and/or what I think the audience would like. After awhile you get tenured, then you can give the song what you think it needs! LOL If you like it, and the crowd is dancing/moving, go for it!! Good luck, keep rockin!! 8) --gary
It's funny you say that because I saw an interview with a guitarist the Eagles had to use on tour because someone was sick, and the advice that Joe gave him was to play the solos like you're playing them for the first time and always play them note for note. I can't remember who he was, unfortunately. I guess Eagles fans like to hear the songs exactly like the album version.
You got that right bro!
As a dad to a young daughter and son, the pain Joe endured from not knowing his father and losing his only daughter really hits home. Much love for you Joe.
I love Joe Walsh❣️🥰 he certainly went thru a lot and came thru with flying colors. ❤️🥰👍
Joe has bben one of my favorite performers for many years. Grateful he survived the 70's, 80's and 90's.
I met Joe in person once he was the coolest star I ever met and I have met tons of celebs. He is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I got to see him live right around when Glenn Frey died and Joe sounded awesome! Joe is my favorite Eagle hands down!
Hey Timothy B Schmit on base gets my groove, but Joe is the GOAT.
there is nice young singer songwriter I loved named Fil Henley that I wish could get together with Joe they would have a blast he goes by Wings Of Pegasus
Humanity is carbon based, but Joe turned to stone and is now a diamond.
I always thought when Joe sang, "I lost my license, now I don't drive" meant that his license was revoked, but Joe clarified that. He in fact, physically couldn't find his license 🤣🤣
Hahahahaha. 🤣
Joe was likely one of the bigger factors leading to me sobering up, nearly 16 years now
Congrats man! Joe has really influenced a lot of people. I highly respect him.
I totally agree with everything you say about Joe Walsh. A true living legend, and just a great human being.
When I first heard ROCKY mountain way my friend used to play it as we rode around in his Volkswagen, now when I hear it on the radio it brings me back to those happy memories and I want to grab a cold one and ride around listening to Classic Rock. LONG LIVE ROCK!
I know! That was back in the day riding around all day and night listening to 8 tracks , drinking Schitz and not a worry in the world !
I had a 71 Beetle !!
First saw Joe Walsh as lead man for the James Gang in 1968. Awesome guitar player and rock star survivor.
Me too, in the Cleveland area.
Loved James Gang didn't realize he was the guitarist, I was 10
I love Joe for his genuineness. As you point out, he and Don Felder are each marvelous complements to each other. Great musicians.
What a fantastic tribute to one of the greatest guitarists of all! He and Don ARE and WERE the sound of the Eagles!
Thanks! Appreciate it!
@@RiverDocs Brother, Joe is the reason I picked up the guitar in 1980. He inspired me to do it. Page and EVH are the other two, but it was Joe who I looked to first. Hey, any man with a big nosed rubber face with his crazy ,screwy looks while torturing his strings with those hyper bends of three half steps is my type of guitarist. I steal so many of his riffs that I should be in jail. His hands are huge and strong as shit like Ed`s. That is one thing I cannot copy, cuz my hands are just average size. We lost Ed, and when Joe and Jimmy pass, I just may drop into a big depression. I am 55 and who knows? Joe might still be on stage when I die, I wouldn`t be surprised ! Back in `87 or `88 I saw Joe at the old Ritz (long gone now) that held 250 people tops, and he was literally two feet in front of me. He walked on stage , went to his mic. and let a huge BUUUURRRP! out and said "How ya doooin?" in a NY accent to start the show. I went with 3 friends and we bet $20 each on what song he would open with. Dave goes "Life in..", Mike said "Funk 49" and Steve said " Turn to Stone". I said "Nope, you guys ain`t even thinkin. Where are we?" "In the City". I made 60 bucks on a no-brainer. I tried my best to get backstage and even had a tiny amount of cred cuz my band was semi-popular locally and we played L`Amours and the China club and CBGB`s alot. I even dropped names, (that is ,or was a big no-no for me 99% of the time) because it was Joe !!!! No go. Not even close. I didn`t see anyone get through. I have no clue why security was so tight that night. But just being so close and watching his fingers so I could see exactly what he was doing. He saw me doing that all night and knew I was studying him. When you are on stage (or even just hanging at a bar or a club) you easily spot the fellow musicians by their behavior, appearance and eyes. We tend to stand still with our arms crossed and look directly at the guitar or bass or drummer, depending on what you play I highly doubt anyone ever studied me, but I saw them judging me all the time. I apologize for the huge comment, I guess I was just typing my thoughts out as fast as they came. Thank you for the video River, I loved it ! Cheers man.😲💥👍🎸🎸🎤🎧🎶🔥
What a great memory and tribute to Joe Walsh. No apologies....it was a great read. xo

Nicely done. I've been a fan of Joe ever since the release of James Gang Rides Again. Over the years I've said many a silent prayer for Joe in the loss of his daughter and for his recovery efforts. He is a gifted and talented man who makes the world a little better because of his music. Thanks very much for posting and be safe 🙏
You're welcome and thank you!
Also, the addition of Walsh to The Eagles transformed them from a "popular soft-rock sound", to a super-mega rock band! It's no coincidence that "Hotel California" blew the industry out of the water! Walsh put that band over the top.
Oh yeah, 100% agree with you about joe Walsh joining the eagles
In my opinion The Long Run is their only good album
Yes that's true, but Walsh and Don Felder together are the main reason for their success. Frey and Henley wrote great Lyrics, but so did Walsh, Felder, Schmidt, and their bass player prior to Schmidt. Yet Henley and Frey want all the credit and all the money. Frey had a good "average" voice. Henley has an amazing voice, but Walsh and Felder's guitars put the EAGLES on the map as a great sound, great rock band, not just your run or the mill country-rock band. All of them together were a hard working band that deserve the accolades they've received, not just Frey and Henley. It's sad to see when a successful band end up quibbling and leaving a legacy of a bunch of spoiled greedy buttheads when it should have been a bunch of great friends, great musicians, great songwriters who in a world of drugs, greed, violence, hatred, they should have remained known as a successful bunch of men who worked hard, had each other's back, men of equal talent, and men who saw the talent in each other, and loved and respected each other to the very end. Their won't ever be another "EAGLES" whose harmonies soared higher, sounded fuller, and rang truer that the EAGLES. God bless you all from then to now and May God bless you all for the music you gave this world. How great it would be to be able for you to forget the hate and negativity and remember the smiles and good times and to share it all in one last tour of the world and have all of those who made and make you great, if for nothing else but for your fans who would so appreciate it. I'm sure it would bring back many a great memory as well as many tears for 2-4 hours in our lives which now long for positive love and the greatest music ever played by the greatest band who played it and sang it like no others. Come on guys, leave us with one last amazing legacy to remember and put the past behind and bring back the love and spread forgiveness, even if, even if, you don't love each other anymore😇🇺🇸🇺🇦❤️🤫
@@robertjohnson3855 "their bass player prior to Schmitt"
My goodness mate, for an Eagles "expert" that was one of the biggest backhanded , disrespectful things I've ever read regarding the late great , Randy Miesner. Pick up your act for crying out loud.
I always knew Joe would go far. As "garage bands" in the 1960s in NE Ohio go, Joe always had that something special. He's always been one of my guitar heroes.
Great video. I used to think I was the only one who recognized the genius of Joe. He’s my guitar hero, and my inspiration for stopping drinking. He’s the best friend I’ve never met.
Well said Paul! Thanks for your comment and for watching the video!!
Not only is Joe an excellent musician, he had Stevie Nick's in her prime! What a blessed S.O.B!
I grew up in NE Ohio. In 1969 I was attending college and playing guitar in a local band. One night I went to a club, The Freak Out, in Niles, Ohio to hear local phenom, Phil Kaeggy and his band, The Glass Harp. At a break, Phil acknowledged Joe Walsh in the audience and a little later invited Joe to the stage. These two incredible musicians jammed for like non-stop 15 minutes, playing off each other and clearly having a good time doing it. It was an amazing spontaneous point in time I was so for to witness. After it all, I realized my future would not be as I rock guitarist, so I stayed in school instead.
Walsh is a great guitarist who has the vibe…the mojo…a true rock n’ roll guitarist…
Joe Walsh has created and played some of the greatest guitar riffs in rock history, but ironically, I think my favorite Joe Walsh composition is "Song for Emma," from "So What." Such a beautiful and moving tribute to his young daughter Emma, and her tragic death. So sad . . . .
A truly grand rock guitarist. Navy duty aboard ship, 1973. James Gang album. I couldn't get enough of "Funk" and "Walk Away." Thanks for the reminder.
I've always been a fan. Love his guitar work and his lyrics. Glad he didn't just fade away.
Thank you man for highlighting Joe Walsh. No body does Doc's like you. One of my favorite guitarists. You should see him at Daryl's house, totally awesome. I always look forward to your expertise on your reactions. Peace Brother.
Thanks Mark. Appreciate it. I watched the Daryl's house with Joe. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for your comment and for watching the videos!
I was so sad to hear the story of the death of his little Emma. It’s a sad fact that the divorce rate for couples who have lost a child is 80%. So sorry for all your losses Joe, but I congratulate you for carrying on! Your rough years of drugs are over, and you were strong and brave to achieve Rehab. You’re having an amazing life! I had the honor of dancing to The James Gang in 1968, at my high school’s senior year After Prom!! It was at Wagner’s Party Center on Center Ridge Road. You guys played a fantastic show for us, THANK YOU! I saw you with Ringo, great gig!
Joe Walsh is also an American licensed Amateur radio operator. I for one have never heard him on the air operating on any of the several radio bands but he must like still being around with people just with this hobby. WB6ACU is his call sign.
I love hearing Joe Walsh monologue of how he wrote "Life's Been Good". He incorporates the craziness of his fame and how to adjust.
Here's what so impressive about Joe Walsh; he's been through so much drama and so much turmoil in an already crazy industry... and through it all he has been likeable and genuine and positive. Seriously, how you can be in a band with the likes of Frey and Henley and manage to stay out of the mudslinging is beyond amazing. I don't admire many celebs but he is certainly one of the few that I look up to.
Well said Mike!!
Thank you Joe. Sorry for the loss of your Dad. Phenomenal music. -Ret USAF 🇺🇸
“Song for Emma” has always been one of my favorites. It’s such a beautifully flawless piece of music that you wouldn’t necessarily expect from Joe Walsh. it was only this past year that I found out it was a tribute to the daughter he lost. That is a pain I could not even begin to imagine.
Excellent channel buddy. Nice work.
Thanks man. Glad you enjoy it. Just trying to keep some of these players and their music alive a bit longer.
Joe "Simply amazing" Walsh. Incredible artist all around. Life has been good, even with the pain. Thank you for allow us to journey with you.
I was a Fool for Passing up Yer Album,in 95 at a Salvation Army!Wow!
Joe Walsh is THE MAN ❤ !!!
Joe thank you for all you have done .to this day I still play my Les Paul . I am in my 70 now survived Vietnam . Your music so touched me . Thanks joe
Joe has always been my guitar hero, until now watching this video I had not known of his three year old daughters death, even now after all these years my heart goes out to him for such a great loss. I have two daughters of my own and are both mothers and grand mothers. I could never have been able to cope with loosing either one.
Yeah I feel the same way about him. Thanks for the comment and watching the video.
Man I truly enjoy watching and listening to your videos, your way of describing things is phenomenal. Thanks, greatly appreciated.
Joe has always been my musical hero. So talented . So under appreciated. He's always welcome at my house .
I got rides again in 70 I was 17 and I'm 70 now watching this 😎
he is a Master of Guitar riffs
he was my favorite guitarist for several years. still one of my favorites.
Joe you were always great . I remember when you joined the Eagles I was trilled and so happy for you. I know first hand how hard it is to lose your child. What a come back kudos to you.
My favorite song of his is Indian Summer. Takes me way back to colorful autumns in NYS
Joe is da Man !! So much to love about Joe.
Loved Joe from the 1st time I heard Rocky Mountain Way, He was my 1st rock concert, with The James Gang ,he opened for Foghat in 1974. I loved his album covers and my " The smoker you drink, the player you get" album saw lots of time on my turntable.
That album even has YACHT ROCK on it!
James Gang and Foghat! What a show!!!
Yes, I relate to this completely. I was fortunate enough to see Joe in concert in 2013, Pittsburgh Stage AE. He even spoke briefly about his past, recovery, and current happiness. It was a beautiful and unforgettable evening, and he played flawlessly. Good Times!
Saw him open for Tom Petty
Saw Joe with his band Barnstorm back in '73. Good show, unexpectedly mellow.
I always loved Joe's playing. Besides his major hits, my real favorites and solos are: I'll tell the world, Midnight Man, his solo in Fogelberg's Part of The Plan. Real emotion and grit in those and I feel that everytime I hear them. His tones and style are unmistakable. Carry on Joe.
YES--the only personal aspect of Joe bigger than his talent is his heart. And, he is actually the first to perform for many with the "Talk-Box."
Joe has always been one of my favorites, and greatest influence. No one in his time had the balls to play, and sing, or just say, what Joe has.
And Joe is also one fine person as well as one of most underrated guitarist.
I've always felt that Joe was always an underrated guitar player..listening to the James gang rides again,imo.. was some of the very best guitar playing I've ever heard..that album,to me anyway..is my most favorite..
Have always loved Joe Walsh’s guitar playing! Love that he has found freedom and happiness in his sobriety!! ❤
I've been a huge Walsh fan for decades. Thank you for this video!! I too am TOTALLY biased when talking about him. YOU, more than anyone else, feels the same way as I do about the man. Most people talk about his hard partying ways but leave out the fact that he was self-medicating after the death of his daughter. I consider Joe to be one of the finest guitarists ever! His tone and his tasty bouncing licks are the absolute best! Thank you.
You're very welcome. Thank you for watching and your comment!
He has always been my favorite. ❤
American Express! You can't go home without it!
LOL
Joe was an inspiration for me as a young guitar player. I'm 68 now and still revel in his music 🎶 I'm privileged to have seen him in his first tour with The Eagles! I've seen them all (great guitarist) over the years, but Joe is clearly a cut above 98% Funk 49 is a classic from the time it was released!! ❤❤❤
Ok 68, I'm 74 and saw Joe Walsh with the James Gang in 1969 when the opening act was Led Zeppelin.
@@garygruber1452 Dude, you kicked 68 to the floor, he can't get up, Did the Zep impress? Just curious.
I love Joe Walsh! I was blessed to see him in concert with Jackson Brown in Santa Fe, NM years and years ago. I agree with you, Joe is one of the all time best guitarists ever! Brilliant, fun and seriously gifted!! Thank you for this great tribute for Joe ❤
He's still great, saw him open for Tom Petty @ Memphis year Petty died Excellent show
Howdy 🤠 I’m Clark Chandler and I Saw 👀 Joe Back When He Played “The Barnstorm”
Tour N-1973 😊 and IT Was Simply AWESOME 👏 ❤😮🎸✌️👍🕊️👀🙏🏻…Clark Chandler 😎
I always wondered where Joe lived in Boulder, but I guess it was close to that park. I'm so glad he got his life together, I hope he stays that way for good!
I met Joe Walsh back stage before a show one time.
My father in law and Joe have known one another for a 25-30 years. It is entirely outside of music as a matter of fact he had no idea who the Eagles were until he met Joe.
They have a mutual hobby, antique HAM radios... lol
So backstage before a concert 18 ish years ago.
He asks Joe "What is your favorite... A chuckle comes from the side of the room... radio you have? The chuckle goes to a silence and from the corner comes... I thought you were going to ask him his favorite song. (Joe's body guard/personal assistant was watching tv 15-20 feet away)
My father in law replied "I don't even know what kind of fuckin music he plays"
10 minutes later Joe replied with some obscure radio model from the 1930's... and they both went into the asthetic and sound attributes of the radio.
I have a few other great stories from the encounter... needless to say, I doubt Joe has ever had a similar backstage experience.
I remember listening to James Gang in high school 1971
Funk 49. My favorite
Who doesn’t love Joe and consider him one of the greatest guitarists ever. Saw him solo at 21 in 1978 here on Long Island. However, becoming an Eagle is really when his meteoric rise began even though his career was going along well. And of course with the Eagles… His competition with Moon on who could trash a hotel better was legendary… PURE GENIUS!
He has always put a smile on my face.
Joe Walsh is one of the most unique guitarists out there. He plays like he sings and he sings like a son of a gun. He’s also a class A songwriter. I’ve been playing guitar most all of my life and I still love the way he plays… Seen him several times in different bands. Joe is one of the true greats and I love him for it…
Analog Man Joe, "party on walsh"!
Back in 75' I went to my second concert it was The Eagles doing the " On the Border tour " . It must have been one of the last stops on that tour because Joe Walsh was with them and they played some songs from Hotel California ! When they announced Joe Walsh was with them and played Rocky Mountain Way I almost lost my mind ! I had no idea he was even going to be there . PK
Don Felder was already in the Eagles when Joe joined in Dec 1975.Joe Walsh put the icing on the cake
am 77 and loved Joe and the James Gang
His best album was Life's Been Good. Love that album.
Ever Since I was A KiD!He is The Man!Hotel Californias,Life in the FastLane!Hey say no More!As well as Many More! Thanks Joe Always! and Fans!Love Ya!
Playing Ravel's Bolero on his guitar was also a beauty. Perhaps that's the part of his classical music that stuck with him from his piano playing. John
His attitude affects the way i hear his playing...he used to come on the radio in Detroit back in the 80's as a guest DJ in the mornings. He was quick-witted, hilarious and colorful. As was Nugent, another guest DJ.
I had the pleasure of supporting him an a band called the party boys back in Australia 1990's. We supported him at 3 venues in Perth and he was such a character. I can clearly remember his hands were massive and took a keen liking to my 81, Les Paul gold top. I still own it today and record with it regularly. All in all such an amazing blonde and sensational musician.
GREAT VIDEO!!!
I'm a ham radio operator, and so is Joe. Even with the money he's made, he runs older tube equipment which is really cool.
I would love to talk with the man over the air one of these days.
Joe, if you're reading this, thanks for the music, and 73s!!!
I feel a kinship to Joe, growing up,in the Akron,,Kent,Canton, area, seeing The James Gang, playing the college clubs and bars, and opening for whatever act that played in the area. I kind of followed Joe's patch, minus, the drugs and music.Well in 1991,I ,like Joe, got into a put up or shut situation, and I check into Rehab, into where some of Akron' musicians checked into. About 2 weeks left in my rehab, me and another guy in my group, before our morning AA meeting, took turns writing a line our 2 ,on the board, from "Hotel California". Seems those lines,in that song, rang true to our disease. Clean and sober since 10-17-91. I realized that, I "could check out anytime you like,.........but you can never leave". I often wondered if Joe relates the lyric like that..
His guitar solos on take a look around, bluebird, midnight man and white man, black man are among my favorites of all time by anybody. Furthermore the sound he got on James Gang live Is the best ever.
Though his family moved before he was old enough to remember. Joe was born in Wichita, KS. After a deadly tornado struck Wichita and nearby Andover in 1991, Joe brought his good friend Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter (of Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers fame) and performed a fundraiser concert to benefit those affected by the storm. It was at this concert that Joe autographed my Hotel California album. He has since donated generously to a Wichita halfway house for displaced women.
'Pretty Maids All in a Row' will always be my favorite Joe Walsh song. It is a thing of sheer beauty...much like the man, himself.
I think he truly feels a connection with the military given his experience of losing his father the way he did when he was about 2 yrs.old. I'm a veteran myself, and I have really appreciated performers who do free shows for military personnel. I saw Charlie Daniels do a USO show in Germany at Zweibrucken A.B. in the early 90's. Thank you so much to all of you who have done, and will do that kind of thing.
Never knew about Emma. Gives me much more compassion towards Joe.
Started listening to JG when Rides Again came out. I was 16 when I went to the Ohio State Fair to see JG open for Black Sabbath. Few years later as a sophmore at BGSU saw Joe right after Rocky Mountain Way was released (hard to believe that is almost 50 years ago). Saw the Eagles Hotel California tour in Ann Arbor a few years later. Saw Joe and Glenn in Charlotte in the early 90's. Saw the Eagles for the Long Road Out of Eden tour.
Last time was seeing Joe was at the House of Blues in Vegas. Probably the best performance ever. Joe Vitale was with him. Everybody talks about him and Felder being a pair, but listening to Walsh and Vitale's drums are quite a magical pairing. I wish I could have seen Joe and "Rick theBass Player" Rojas live.
Great video .... thanks for compiling and sharing !
i love the song get over it... one of my all time favorite songs
I saw him at The Fillmore East with The James Gang . He had a Dan Armstrong clear plexiglass guitar . He used echo back then . I have seen him many times since .
Loved your comment. I saw the James Gang in 1970 where Joe began the show with what seemed like a 10 minute solo alone with that plexiglass echoplex guitar -- building a whole orchestra with all those waves and layers of sound and reply. One of greatest openings I have ever heard. Wish I had seen that Fillmore East show. Peace Joe !!
Forgot Joe's album before going back to the Eagles, Analog Man.
Phenomenal!
in early 2000s Joe showed up at this kind of dive bar with small outdoor area and played a few numbers. That was so surreal to me. I saw him years before solo in the concert hall. Always funny and a good guitar palyer. Who doesn't like Joe Walsh?
If there was a royal jester in rock I would vote for Joe. ;-)
My favorite Joe Walsh song will always be "Life's Been Good" I have good memories listening to that song! 🙏💙🎉🙋
Best live show I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen many, Joe Walsh at Cobo Hall, Detroit, March 10th 1975 🎸
My favorite songs Funk 49 and Walk Away ❤
2023 vets aid was the best performance I’ve seen
Joe's always been in my top 3....with Page and Ted!!!
Every time we go see the Eagles, It is amazing the way Joe lends his R&R credentials to the band. 14:24 Very touching documentary…Well done Sir
Thank you. I appreciate that! I really do.
I thought I knew a little about Joe Walsh. I may have but it wasn't what mattered. I'm from the south but currently live near Akron, Ohio. The music store where I bought my son's and my first guitars, sported a picture of the original owner and Joe on the wall. Story was Henry of Henry's Music kept Joe employed back in those early years. I know that to this day, he is still well loved around here.
Great story. Thanks for sharing. Joe is a great guy and player for sure! Thanks for watching!
