      @@davel7014 Great observation Dave! 👍 I find it's often hard for people to write off a parent completely, for most people anyway- if you are present and there for your kids on a regular basis I guess maybe there's a LOT some can forgive? I'm sure it was hard for them. I saw Chad Daybell's kids on Dateline, not sure if you're familiar with that case but I'm SURE you've heard of it- all FIVE are CONVINCED their Father is innocent, and this is after PROOF he killed his wife (their Mother) AND after they found the bodies of his new wife's (Lori Vallow Daybell) children buried in HIS yard/property. They say he was framed, they KNOW their Dad, etc. Denial and that parent/child bond can be VERY strong at times I guess- but I'm with you, I don't understand it, in either case!!

      It is bewildering as you say, that child/parent bond where there's an actual blindness to how the person in the wrong operates.
      I think of Prince Andrew's daughter telling him to go TV and be interviewed about Epstein.
      In her mind how could anyone not believe her dad ?
      It's a very hard thing to grow up and see what others see about the father you worship.
      I remember when it came out that my own father was having an affair and had set up finances in motion to leave and take everything with him.
      My mother and brother were completely pole axed while I couldn't understand how they didn't see he was capable of such things.

    • @shayb413
      @shayb413 2 года назад

      @@flowerjpotter1629 That is so terrible and tragic about your own Father, I'm so sorry!! I think it's interesting as we become adults and see our parents more as people with flaws instead of just the parents we put on a pedestal. I will say that my parents were both very loving and there for me, so had I found out one of them did something terrible, I think I could see logic and reason and believe it, and it may take time, but I believe personally I could disagree with or be appalled by their actions, and still come to forgive them and love them unconditionally, as I would want my children to do for me. But if we all just know right from wrong and try all we can to choose right as much as possible, huge giant betrayals like in these cases or even much more common like what your Father put your family through could be MUCH less common, if people could just be a little less selfish and think how their actions will affect their families and others! Thanks for sharing, hope you have a fantastic Friday friend!! ❤️

    I recall reading research once on why people choose to voluntarily join cults and disengage from generalized society. Some cult members studied reported feeling disillusioned in regards to burdens and responsibilities life placed on them. They wanted to return to a simpler time where they could be in a more protected child like state. Unfortunately if one chooses to take the passenger seat in life the driver may not always take you to the promise land. John Darwin reminds me of this type of discontentment. As if his story isn't weird enough. . To think that the guy moves to the Philippines only to marry a much younger woman. Usually the Filipinas will marry a Western guy to get out of their country. Those poor women are so desperate, that one of them would marry a broken down ex-con with whatever meager assets he had. Truth is stranger than fiction.

    random request: can you analyze Johnny Carson? to me, it's so interesting that a person can have one personality on the air and another completely different personality off. like, he was welcoming and effusive and charismatic on air, perhaps better at performing than anyone else who's ever tried, but apparently he was cold and quiet and almost cruelly shy off.

    • @rabefamily9146
      @rabefamily9146 2 года назад

      That is why it is called “performing”. Lots of outgoing people in real life are deathly afraid of getting up on stage. It is the same thing in reverse and not that unusual.

    • @wonderplaid
