So obviously Carter is going to have a thing with Maxine while he tries to resist JP. I’m curious as to whether or not Hollyoaks is actually planning on making them a couple after that. Of course all couples on Hollyoaks are temporary, but I kind of want to see them together even if just for a while.
I fear it is not JP, but Lucas Carter have taken a shine too. That is my impression from this clip alone, though. I haven't watched Hollyoaks since May 2021 - got fed up with all the psychopatic characters and storylines, the predictable impredictabilities and the totally out of touch with logic and reality developments. But from how Carter uses the charity act as an excuse to engage Lucas, seemingly deliberately provokes Lucas just so he can demonstrate his power over Lucas by giving him further detention the more Lucas object, my alarmbells are ringing. Carter is grooming Lucas. Not like Buster did Ollie by being a friend and making him team captain of the football team. But by demonstrating to Lucas the power he has to make life difficult for Lucas - unless Lucas do as Carter tells him, and keeps stum about it. A less sinister version is that Carter feels ashamed over his attraction to Lucas, and hopes by angering Lucas the boy will seem less attractive and he will get over him more easily. Unless off course there is a particular relevant reason for Carter focusing special attention towards Lucas, a reason which is not apparant here, but has been revealed in previous scenes and episodes. But if there isn't, the fact Carter is dismissive towards JP shortly before he engages contact with Lucas, suggest him to be more interested in Lucas, than in JP.

@@itsonlysound My experience from having watched Hollyoaks has taught me to always expect the worse. Hollyoaks seldom goes 6 months before a character turns seriously bad or twisted. Ryan, George, Nick, Cameron, James' father played by David Easter, the two Nazis who gaslighted Ste - one of them claiming to be his brother. I could have gone on and on.
Nothing in his dating history suggests he can. Kieron was the only good one and he binned him off for dud number 2 Craig. Then he died. If Carter gets his head straight about his sexuality, he'd be husband material.
