Katie you are a wonderful person!!😂😂😂❤❤❤
Katie your warmth and energy towards Charlie is what keeps me coming back to watch your videos. You are such an amazing mom. And your video are really well done as well. Keep them coming.
🥰🥰
WHAT A GIFT YOU ARE GIVING CHARLIE, A LOVE AND APPRECIATION OF NATURE.
Hard enough to have a toddler with a stomach bug at home…you are truly a super woman! Glad you still enjoyed yourselves!
Hard enough to have a toddler.
But I’d trade them back for an instant. Just different problems now.
thank you
These are my favorite videos-just you and Charlie. ❤
🥰
Charlie is an epic influencer. She does a good job making sure to show “us” what she’s eating. 😊
She is a pro 👌🏽
Way to go! So glad you guys were able to make something of that January sunshine. We said the same thing "can't believe this is Jan in Washington." We've wanted to hike down Rialto and camp on the beach, but haven't been comfortable with our backpacking gear. Love all the inspiration you provide. ♥
Yeah, we have lucked out this winter so far!
And right back at ya! Its been fun watching all your videos and your babes just loving the outdoors 🥰
WAGON IT!! grown man can sleep in a sekey like a baby in a carriage ❤😂🎉
Rainy Florida will not have me soupy 😂there is an adapter hitch for a folding ebike also to hitch the wagon. -- and bike folds when needed
Living on trails in a warm place is Freedom ! Working night shift is paying rent and utilities unwarranted 😂 .. there are so many trails 👣 can afford to treat myself to a room when wanted
That would be sweet!
What a bummer she didn't feel well but you seemed to handle it very well!
Note to self: have stuff in case of a puking toddler.😅 So great you both were in such good spirits even tough you had a rough night!
For real! My baseball hat came in clutch but I’m carrying an emergency puke bag just in case from now on
Sorry to hear Charlie was not feeling well, but it sure is stunning there.
The views with all the colors- incredible!
And that little pink wooly base layer is adorable!🥰
So gorgeous! & we are a big fan of her new base layers 👌🏽🩷
*_Hi Katie.... I'm sure your child will inherit your adventurous spirit when they grow up... greetings from Indonesia...._*
I hope so ☺️
Looks like a fun try (other than Charlie throwing up) Thank you so much at outro on updating how Charllie was doing. I was worrried she maybe had been 'sampling' things along trail, and that may have caused issue. She is cute for sure and starting role as an influencer😊
I think it may have just been too much of her snack she had. She is so cute! I didn't start backpacking with my kids until they were teenagers, but I always wanted a pack like that to take them when they were younger.
Definitely a stomach bug because my husband and I both got sick the next day 🙃
Hey, better late than never! I didn’t start backpacking until I was an adult so your kiddos are blessed you took them as teens ☺️
You're so inspirational. I keep saying I'm gonna get out there with my toddlers and am always so nervous because I've never camped before but have been interested in trying. I'm glad Charlie felt better. Thank you for sharing your adventures! - Love, another PNW mama!
Start with something short and close to home to ease into it. you got it! It’s so worth it ☺️
What a cool thing to watch. Way to go mom. I congratulate you on your investment as a mother.
TY ☺️
What a beautiful daughter! Glad she is learning to appreciate nature
TY ☺️
Thanks for taking us along! Such a pretty site. I'm binge watching your videos and adding to my list of trails to visit this Spring/Summer.
Charlie is a cutie patootie! What a champ
She is a champ! 💪🏼
Awe, poor Charlie, I hope she felt better soon after
💙
Last time I backpacked this trail we filtered the water and it tasted totally fine - maybe next time you can save a little water weight! you are a suuuuperhuman
Good to know!
Oh my gosh I'm so sorry about your little ones tummy :'( I hope she was feeling better after you got home.
I can't believe it's that busy there in January! I am thinking of doing this one as my son(4)'s first 2-night trip this summer (We did three 1-nighter's last year) unless you have another recommendation! He can do 3-4 miles and we would prefer a loop like this (We're in Kitsap County but we don't mind a drive!). I'm just a little worried about the tide timing and the beach walking being much harder than the regular trail. I'm also planning to take my 2 year old on her first trip this summer. I can't believe you carried Charlie so much though - I told mine she will have to walk the whole way, LOL! We are building her stamina this winter though. I know she can do at least 1.75 miles on her own. I remember seeing a video of you at Sheep Lake off 410 and I am considering that for her first one!
She was back to normal the next day, thankfully ☺️
This would be a good option! You could camp at Cape Alava one night and Sand Point the second night so you aren’t fighting the tides coming in and leaving. Sheep Lake is a good one for a one-nighter. Not a loop, but I love the Tubal Cain Trail! The first 3 miles are pretty flat and easy to walk for your little. There are some awesome camp spots by Buckhorn Lake then you can day hike up to the pass. So many good options! Have fun ☺️
@@hikingwithkatie Oh thank you for the suggestion about Tubal Cain! I'll check that one out too! I'm so glad Charlie felt better the next day. I can't imagine having sick kiddo on the trail, and I can't imagine how awful she must have felt too. The most I have had to deal with was a potty accident (#1) in the sleeping bag but now we use a pullup when camping haha!
Great view! When’s the snow* camping??
It’s always slow camping 🤪
Beautiful camping area! Do you ever get scared at night?
Not like I used to! I could barely sleep 😆 Now the only reason I wake up in the night is for C. I think exposure therapy was the only way I got past being scared at night.
@@hikingwithkatie I am having this problem too, I'm glad it's not just me. I get intrusive thoughts at night. But I'm trying to tackle it the same way, through exposure. If you have any other suggestions I'd love to hear them. How long/how many trips before you started to notice an improvement? I'm stubborn and just keep going anyway. The experiences and connection is greater than the intrusive thoughts.
Great video. What brand of inflator is that, will it work on any inflatable pads. It’s not listed in your equipment links.
It’s the Flextail pump & it comes with adapters to it should work for all//most sleeping pads. Love it!
❤
What hiking shoes do you prefer? :)
I typically always wear Solomons but right now I’m wearing hokas which have been great!
Have you ever thought of trying a hiking cart? I really admire you taking your toddler hiking but you could really injure yourself carrying that much weight. As someone who has severe scoliosis I was never able to carry my children on my back. I would love to see some of you hikers review products for people who, like me, can't carry a backpack.
