    From Toronto, I think now with online business and the metaverse being in the biggest metropolitans is a luxury but no longer necessary even for business/career growth. So the move to cheaper cities like Saskatoon or even way more rural places with good internet will start becoming more and more common this next decade IMO.

    Ontarian here. While I think it's fine to encourage Canadians to move to your province, I don't think it's good to encourage people to move and buy up real estate and turn them into rentals. This practice makes home ownership more difficult for locals. Real estate should be viewed as a necessity of life and not an investment to get rich.

      I don’t necessarily disagree with you. I think the main point was showing how far your dollar goes here. 6 houses vs 1.

    It is not affordable to like in saskatchewan in general in todays markets. You want work you have to live within the region of the major cities. Born and raised in saskatchewan and know lots of people here, most that succeeded had mom and dad help them lots from which their grandparents did the same for their parents and passed land or houses to them. Without help and no equity, living paycheck to paycheck is a reality. Our healthcare is horrible here unless you have a family doctor which isnt easy at all to find. 15yrs ago i would of had the opposite to say, but through the years saskatchewan became unaffordable. Most of our nice lakes are northern saskatchewan hours away from most cities except Prince Albert.

    • @ScottZieglerSaskatoon
      @ScottZieglerSaskatoon  8 месяцев назад

      Tell us how you really feel lol. Now compare all that with living in TO. We are exponentially more affordable. You seem like you need to change your perspective

    • @MrJackassz
      @MrJackassz 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@ScottZieglerSaskatoonim just putting my opinion like you did making a video, welcome to democracy. We are cheaper for very very good reasons, dont change that by enticing more people to move here and make matters worse than they are in saskatchewan. The housing just isnt there to bring on a bunch of people. The "affordable" spots for rent are houses split into sections acting like an apartment than a house, that never started in saskatoon until 2010 onwards before you got a full place for a set price. Ive seen what saskatoon used be and it isnt that same place and obviously everything changes, but its been for the worse.... thats not progress. You may think its just "my opinion" but in reality thats not just my opinion, but a vast majority of canadians new and old. Affordability was what brought ppl here knowing you can have a good salary only one parent working and the other raising the kids and living 100 percent off that 1 salary. Not having strangers literally raise your child for you while you work isnt a GOOD LIFE at all.

    I think you are trying to advertise Saskatoon but missing critical points . I have a house in Saskatoon but work in Ontario so I can compare too.
    #1 weather, get ready for -20-30 temperature and don't be surprised if your car won't start one day, no fall and no spring , just two seasons summer and winter.
    #2 work I don't know what jobs are booming in Saskatchewan at the moment but I have to work outside of the province for the last 6-7 years.
    #3 groceries prices and choices way better in Ontario
    #4 there's really not much to do in winter time here
    #5 health care system is terrible everywhere ,so here in Saskatchewan yes you can die just from having an appendicitis , so get ready for a long lineups.

    If you actually want to lower home prices and renting costs you need to do these things:
    1) Cut immigration drastically - mass immigration has created excess demand which has placed upward pressure on prices. Mass immigration actually caused the housing crisis.
    2) Send back the huge number of "temporary foreign workers" and international students in very large numbers. This will reduce demand for rentals and bring down renting prices quickly which will help young canadians the most.
    That's what will actually help. We don't need more homes, we need far less immigration. We didn't have a housing crisis before mass immigration.

      Certainly, large-scale immigration created demand. Any reason why the supply hasn't kept up with it? Given that those who have migrated from elsewhere to Canada bring their skills and abilities - and, sometimes, money - immigration is good for Canada. Try working on the supply side instead of cutting off an excuse for demand.

    Toronto and Vancouver is not a option for millennials any more it’s to expensive I left during the pandemic and moved to Alberta . Alberta offers much cheaper real estate plus I work from home so I can move . I moved to Grande Prairie,Alberta you can buy a house there for $379,900 4 bedroom and 3 washrooms you can never buy a house like that in Toronto people need to look for better options. A friend of mine bought a house in Brampton 4 bedroom 1 million dollars semi what a joke . YES its cold but i would rather be able to afford a house. people should consider moving to small towns.. after a 1 year my boss was tealing people to come back to work so i just took that year and found another IT job Alberta haas lots of IT companies I work from home 3 days a week and go to work 2 days. employees took back controle of there life during the pandemic.
