The worst part about Loki and Sharpe's character arcs is their deaths. Both died in a similar fashion: both were broken in the beginning and there was no chance for them to ever receive a happy ending or receiving love. However, Thor and Edith were the cause of their change and for them to see that there maybe a chance for happiness and love in their lives. Not to mention the two kept secrets from their loved ones from the longest time (Loki kept Thanos a secret from Thor to keep him safe while Thomas tried to keep Edith alive and oblivious to his and Lucille's relationship as best as he could). Yet this doesn't come to the both of them as their tormentors (Lucille and Thanos) murder them because of betrayal. Edith, fortunately, never witnessed Thomas' death and was able to avenge his death; while Thor was trapped and muzzled like a dog as he watched Loki's death helplessly. We don't get that same bitter sweet ending for Thor and Loki as we do Edith and Thomas (where they both say goodbye to one another at the end of the film), which makes Loki's death a bit more tragic than Sharpe's. Both of their deaths were poetic in their own terms and the similarities to their development have always interested me.
