Those colors are very rich and elegant beautiful ❤
Thanks so very much
This is different way I haven't heard of ...baking powder. I've seen embossing powder used and I used suede kits but this is very economical. Great diy sis.
Thank you so much 😊
Yes so true wanted quick easy and affordable
I am not a DIYer but it was fascinating to watch you make the gorgeous ornaments. The velvet pillows and ornaments look wonderful. You are very talented!

You are so welcome!
These are gorgeous! Good job
Great idea and diy
Thank you! 😊
Oh I LOVE THEM!!!!! Do you seal them so the baking soda can’t rub against something or rub off? I saw a ball at Hobby Lobby on the single ornament isle by the “Robert Stanley Collection”! It happened to be pink but you could use any color. It took me quite awhile to duplicate it but when it was done oh I love it!!!! You use the mercury glass technique on the inside of the ball using metallic “Mirror effect” spray paint and a pearl, satin or metallic on the inside of the ball (you can find videos on RUclips and they are all the same recipe. Then you use “frosted glass” effect spray paint on the outside after the inside dries. Then after that dries use Mod Poge and use your finger to go around making splotches but also leaving some places untouched. Let this dry. Then mix white flat craft paint and baking soda and it should grip to those splotches with the Modpoge on it leaving the places that are only frosted alone but just in case just put it on those splotches and let dry. Now the baking soda and white flat craft paint is meant to look like snow and then you have your frosted glass that has a color on the inside. Then you pick some small places in each part where you have the frosted glass and you can use anything to scratch off a little bit of the frosted glass around the ball so that you have small little spots or patches (not circles) of the shiny part of the ball so that when you look at the ball you will see a small place that is shiny and anyone looking will be drawn to look for another shiny spot amongst a ball that has a matte finish with snow and ice. I wish I could send you a picture!
One other thing you can do for another ball type is a stained glass look using colored Modpoge (Modpoge plus craft paint) then bake it in oven on low heat and you will have a colored transparent ball. I’m going to try this and I’ve been told to make the Modpoge and paint or food coloring, which ever you have-make it a little darker because when it’s baked it volumes out lighter.
I am a artist by heart so I know all kind of little tricks. Oh yea, I’m the video, the second ornament that you painted had streaks in the paint. To avoid the streaks use a make up sponge to keep tapping on the color. Well, thanks again!
I’ve done the inside paint idea before not on the channel as well as the dip method. Thanks so much sounds like you definitely have fun with creating also.
Awesome! Thanks for this Shennell because these velvet ornaments are already selling out in the stores!
So I have heard they went really fast

Oh my your videos are really beautifully done and your voice is so heavenly to listen to.
Glad you like them!
Well thanks a bunch there was a time I didn’t like to hear myself I still have to force myself now.
Of u use painters tape n tape the Lil ends to a pencil it holds so u can jus hold the stick while u paint but make sure the pencil is all the way in touching n tape to make a good hold
I couldn’t locate my tape and did forget to tell you all to do this step /incorporate in the DIY Thanks for the reminder
So pretty. You are brave for painting near all that beautiful white furniture 😵
I paint a lot so I have it far enough away that it was safe, the camera doesn’t provide good depth of field ration with the distance.
Thank you for stopping in and viewing the content

Your ornaments are beautiful. The technique you used with the baking soda make them truly look velvet.
Glad you like them Felecia and can appreciate the savings
simply beautiful! Your tutorial is simple and easy to follow. Thank you!!
Thanks I try to keep it as simple as possible after all I don’t want to do the most myself. We definitely want it to look the part though ( smiles)
Stunning ❤️
Noted Gwen thanks
Great diy! Wanted to ask would you get the same velvety affect if you mixed the baking soda with the paint?
Not when I tried it was more textural overall. The mixture of the baking soda with paint gave it a smoother look and feel and added depth . I sealed with a light mist of spray acrylic.
Very nice!
Thank you
Very Nice!
Thanks!

Much needed savings thanks so much Chery
Totally in awe of your color palette, great tutorial 🤎🩶🤍
Thanks so much 😊 Diana
Hi i love the ornaments! Beautiful project. I’m also an entrepreneur and I have a question. If I wanted to sell these to my customers would I need to seal them & if so what could I use to seal it to make sure it keeps the velvet look? Sorry for the long message but they are so beautiful & I know my customers would love these. Thank you again for such a very detailed diy video. Remember stay blessed because you are definitely blessed!❤
Thanks for stopping in I used a light spritz of spray lacquer very light on some and some I left as is. It baking soda somewhat light flock. If done like in the video it is very minimal fallout without sealing. So I would venture to say it’s a person preference
@@angelicinteriordesignsbysh5171 thank you
