Be cheaply recorded and pressed on garbage vinyl lol Being a San Diego punk rocker a generation or so after this band came along I can say they were using stock amp overdrive and reverb, MAYBE a chorus and/or superfuzz pedal or something. This particular album does feel like there's a chorus pedal somewhere in the mix but that would be unusual for the time and place. It was mostly pretty sparse in terms of equipment usage or knowledge. Most of the magic that you hear is in the sonic background radiation of the room in which it was recorded, which is what I love about the old San Diego albums.
@@wokejesus6501 and the types of chords played also add to the sound. A power chord with light gain sounds less CLASHY and less SHIMMERY than an open chord or chords that utilize the unwound strings. Adds to that roaring grit sound.

No way!!!!???
First time I heard of this band is when I fell in love with The Pine…. Now I love them both.
Evergreen is a really famous band... There are tracks, ships and containers baring the band's name
😅
Now, seriously, I love these guys
If I had that much financial and social capital, I'd name all my shell corporations after emo bands.
I see what you did there...

What an incredibly perfect band. They had such mythical and ethereal status when I came into the scene in ‘96.

I’m assuming this isn’t the same evergreen as the evergreen Britt Walford from slint went on to play drums in?
