The three Hail Marys for this friar rather than priest (maybe in the future, if God wills).
Humility, is our true Goal. But for humanity, becoming truly humble in every aspect of our soul is so nearly difficult without perfect guidance from the Divine. Thus it also seems the enemy has a radar for those who strive in it. But God has planned a long journey for our soul and wishes it much success and poverty as a means is equivalent to many years of effort, and also serves as a shield to many arrows. Who can suffer fears of loss of property or status if they have not partake in it to begin with? Who would care to impress with material goods or favor if they have never invested in them? Let our only worth be in only in God's Will and our finding it. Then we can practice the same for our neighbor as we wish to for ourselves.

I find it odd how there has always been poor people. A lot of the one's I know from work are slackers or spendrifts, but I can understand there are people who are in a bad luck situation like a major hospital bill or being poor generation wise. But figure since Jesus' time, beggars existed. In 2000 years there still are.

It is a completely different thing with rich people give away all their money and living poor for jesus.
Or
Poor people at last having enought money to live nice and not living with one pair of shoes.
The rich people gave something to jesus, his money and power. And the poor guy who just live as he always lived - he gave nothing up for god.
Go back & read the story of the widow and her two mites. Christ said she gave more than all the wealthy did because they gave from their excess while she had nothing to spare and yet gave all to God.

Jesús was not a poor man but a working class man!
Saint Joseph and Mary took vows of poverty, so Jesus was born into a poor family and lived that life
Back then, working class was poor. There was no middle class living in a cul de sac in the suburbs back then.
Joseph and Maria where from a king-line. They where not normal poor people.
Joseph worked and teached.
Beeing poor does not lead you automatically into heaven.
@@AS-np3yq No one suggested being in poverty assured salvation. There is simply one large stumbling block taken from the path when wealth isn't in the picture. It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
GK Chesterton wrote in Orthodoxy that men often look up to and admire the wealthy, imagining these people cannot be bought since they have wealth while the truth is they have already been bought.

There’s also a flower. Doesn’t mean flowers are bad. It’s an image of material “elegance”. It’s not that deep. Tho SF thumbnails and video pictures are often weird and sometimes even disturbing.
