holy shit, never noticed that. I know John copies some of the melodies from ''is this the end? is this the way i die? in his solo section from The count of Tuscany
Actually, it's a letimotif from the lyrics of Metropolis pt. 1: "Metropolis watches and thoughtfully smiles She's taken you to your home", that was repeated at the subsequent album.
It sounds like the guitar playing was mixed in stereo. How do you get stereo guitar sound for live performance? There is only one Petrucci. I'm really curious.
well, then how about the parts when two guitars play different riffs? Should Petrucci give up one riff and only choose the other one in live performances?
Ohhhhh its regression THEN overture 1928 lol i was like wth is going on here lol
Man, that crunch is to die for.
People sometimes miss that perfect touch of chorus that makes it sound full and beefy
Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+
@@dbautistamedia I'd say it's just the overdub because it sounds very similar to chorus and makes it way beefier
@@dbautistamedia That's me. I just listened to this and added chorus to my tone and whoa what a difference.
I believe it's just double tracked which makes it sound like chorus.
03:51 the guitar said: "Victoria watches and toughfully smile she's taking me to my home".

@@iwatchyouatnight1550 well this is an overture so it's supposed to outline musical ideas for the rest of the album

Petrucci has to be the definition of a perfect guitarist

how in the name of god did you do this? or did they release isolated tracks?
I don’t suppose you could upload an isolated keys part for FT, could you?

For live, he has two amps, and one of them gets delayed by something like 7 milliseconds, and then they're hard panned left and right.

he uses a mimiq pedal which just replicates the sound, he talks about it in his 2022 rig tour
