Hol'up, I think my original comment was deleted for whatever reason. But I'll reiterate it, as it has some suggestions for future builds. For more dogfight-centric builds that have better speed, I have a few suggestions:
a MiG-21bis Fishbed, perhaps even with added machine gun pods, a la Ace Combat,
an EA-18G Growler, but the jamming pods can be EMP launchers instead,
an Su-22 Fitter, which is basically an Su-7 with variable-geometry sweep wings.
