Go to setting- display or advance future, find touch sensitivity and increase it, then reapply your finger print , it would solve your problem as it worked for me. Good luck

You say that until you look at your display under a flashlight and realise how scratched it really is. Tempered glass is worth it for that reason alone. The 1+ 8 pro has probably the nicest display on the market. You should protect it as much as possible.

This is all just a waste of time, if you want to remove the glass just pull up the corner like he did to begin with only keep going, it will pop right off taking the loca glue with it, no need for any alcohol and all that tedious way too slow prying, just pop it off, if you're worried about it breaking, why? It was broken to begin with, it's garbage, if it's not broken and you don't want to break it just be careful, not anything close to this alcohol drowning and painfully over cautious prying junk, it's a screen protector with loca glue, not this difficult at all.
Mine came off easy like you're suggesting up to the point where it had a small section that was stuck on so hard by glue that I had a heck of a time removing it! It really is difficult sometimes just FYI
The main reason we don't want it to break is because once it shatters it no longer pries. You literally chip away super small shards of plastic. It took me 3 hours of constant work, and 3 cuts later to get it all off. My phone screen is scratched pretty bad now too because of it.

it works with alchool, at least 60% alcohol, if you can catch a corner keep adding alcohol and pull, it worked for me.

it's not uv tempered glass, its normal tempered glass.
Curved displays have specially made curved tempered glasses which are applied by a glue which dries under UV light. Hence the name UV Tempered Glass

That's due to cheap glass, the impurities in the glass makes it noisy and the UV glue has to be of 100% crystal clear thin!
