Hey Molly, you need to work up "Willing" as a Golden Highway number. Search RUclips & you will find a young Linda Rhonstadt, with a nearly unknown Bonnie Rait singing "Willing" at a benefit concert. My fav. version.
I wanna hate Steve for his political rants but I cannot. And Molly and the crew are amazing. Were they even alive when this album was cut, and yet listen to them play it as it was originally played. Bronwyn working so hard and carrying the whole gig. The whole thing is just beautiful…..especially Harlen Man , though Guitar Town and Goodbye…Chills…. ❤
Why the f... would anyone "hate" Steve for his political statements? If just a fraction of 1% of the music industry 'artists' stood up against corporate fascism, political corruption, warmongering, homelessness, social apartheid, etc., instead of spewing out endless reams of predictable, unintelligible, celebrity pulp, they might do something of value for humanity. Otherwise, songwriting is just bland, pointless wallpaper!
@ expletive-laden, rants using all the political and socio buzzwords at such a peaceful, beautiful uniting event does not place one above half of those in attendance that may not agree with him. All folks are there enjoying the music and the vibe and then/yet are subject to the bullying rants. Who asked for that? Molly was just saying how she and her dad were there when she was 12. Do you think there might be other innocent 12 year olds there? There’s a place for everything. Why do it every time you’re on stage? It takes away from exactly what makes Steve special. I’ve been a Steve Earle fan for 40 years and continue to be for many of reasons you cite here, but his rants make him sound/seem also exactly what you cite: the same predictable “celebrity”hypocrisy.
Really, that's a very naive statement. The band is only great because of the sum of its parts. Tuttle could get up there and do a solo show. Doubtful if any other member, good as they are, could that.
I know every note of "The Mountain" album in my bones. Molly and the band hit every note perfectly and then elevated the music to another level. Earle is by far the best lyricist and album maker on the planet. His songs elevate humanity and expose the absurbidity of warmongers. All songwriters should study and learn from his genius.
Why is Steve in and out...hope he is ok. If you are misbehaving Steve shame on you! Enough crap in this world and you have people who love your nasty arse. Maybe just a tech problem.....😢
@Hhllbb2476 thats nothing I know about, they sounded good and he played heck his guitar. Probably couldn't beat him down with a big stick ...im just a scary 🐈!
@@psst...heyyou6508 hope you know more than me, im sort of partial to that under rated dude! Did you see him in Treme and and the wire; heis so talented! I'd love seeing him and Billy Bob Thornton corroborate musically and acting, that'd make this year...i can add to this list butnthed be the nucleus. Ok thanks for the upbeat vibe, tell Steve the crawfish are expensive but worth it, come on down.,

Seemed winded which could be many things on health front. Hopefully he takes a blood thinner for long flights.
