Fantastic. I have been doing it wrong all along! Relying too much on HDRI and pin lights to achieve what i could have done with my own physical area lights. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks Esben. Another very well done tutorial. I have been going down much the same path with outdoor HDRI and area/pin lighting for our transportation lighting designs. We (NAL/Koito) do automotive forward and signal lighting. Illuminating inner product detail through, sometimes multiple clear lenses while keeping ambient (wash light) glare to a minimum is still a bit of a trick.
This looks really good! Thanks Where is the paper background from? I've been looking for something like that for a long time and only find some that are way too wrinkled.
Hi Esben, great video and technique. I am trying to apply the steps you explain in the video to one of my renderings, but when I get to the area light step I am not getting as much of a dramatic effect from the lit plane. Increasing the lumens does not change the lighting intensity much and the object stays relatively dark. What could I be doing wrong? Thank you for your help
Esben, once in some CGI website I 've read an artictle where you ve'been named " Lighting Render Monster" so therefore i'd like to inquire into, generally, so called rim light, very sophisticated and refined matter, to give examples like Georges de La Tour,Caravaggio, Rembrandt .
it's awesome! thank you so much!! I've always had trouble in lightning, your video offers so many great techniques! Thanks. Btw, it would be great if you could also do a tutorial of how you render the third image that you showed at the beginning of the video :)
Hi Esben, Thanks for your tutorial. Can I ask what are the specification on your system? I have a Dell workstation laptop M3800, but seems to grind with complex work. Would be nice to guide to a new system. Thanks
Haven't thought about it. At the moment I'm quite happy with the setup. Having one ultra-wide screen instead of two, would be nice though. I guess I'll wait and see what the market looks like once I need a new monitor. I suspect that a lot of things will happen meanwhile technology-wise.
Thank you, help me a lot, I was struggling to achieve the results I wanted, I was setting up my light with a pin in the HDRI editor... Could you please explain to me the difference between using this method and the pin in the HDRI editor?
im so confused why does your 8.1 look different than mine? in the environment i only have 2 overlapping globes and a trash can. my top thick menu also ends at perspective, nothing after that including geometry view. I hope you can help thanks.
Amazing tips mate, thank you very much but my Nvidia GeForce GTX 965 M literelly can do nothing. It's completely useless and powerless against KeyShot 8.1 pro. I'm having 3 second delays for every move i make. They say KeyShot is based on CPU power but i don't think so, GPU must have something to do with it.
I'd be very surprised if someone could make a bad render with keyshot, it would be really tricky to achieve. I find it hard to believe anyone would need a tutorial to use it, but some people & computers just dont mix.
Best tutorial changed look of renders drastically

Wouldn't say that any approach is wrong. There's pro's and con's with everything.
This is such a neat trick. Just started watching your channel a fewdays back and man it surely is now my go to place for keyshot!! Thanks a Ton!!
Your tutorials are the best best best!
Thanks for your videos. Really well explained and straightforward. Quality content :)
Great tricks for achieving photorealism through the lighting here. Once again, thanks Esben!
I really glad that you share all your know-how and it is very helpful to my final year project!Once again, thank you very much!

Thanks man, it is the best know-how about keyshot I have ever seen
Really nice
Good work 🤩
Thanks ! Awesome tutorial !
Awesome! your video tutorial has been very helpful. I would be interested learning to animate properly in Keyshot.
Thanks Esben. Good as always.
Thanks a lot man. Your videos are great!
Thanks, this was a very helpful tutorial! :)
Glad to hear so!
Man, you are amazing!!

Awesome tutorial, thanks for share, take care.
The material of your files is very good. What material is yellow? How to set it?
Best Tutorial,
I'm an ultra newb. How can I move the default light source?
I want it lighting up the underside of the object instead of from above.
thanks buddy..greetings from Nepal!!
I'm total beginner I don't have the lighting option in the right only scene material env. camera and settings any idea what could be causing that?

Have you tried increasing the light intensity by a factor of 10 or 100?
Nice!

Thanks learned the pivot move 👍🏻
Can u make a tutorial on that chair lighting with effects which look like chair in a dusty old room.

Great as always!!! I'm wondering what monitor you are using... A 1440p or 4K?
Thanks. I'm using a EIZO ColorEdge 27, so 1440p.
@@esbenoxholm Wow, looks like God of professional monitors!!! I'm jealous AF 😅
@@vikisk.3d Ha, yeah. But it's one of their cheap models. Would love to have one of their 4k monitors someday.
@@esbenoxholm What about something super-ultrawide? Or a 5K 2K?

Amazing tip, I'm just starting out on keyshot, I wanna make materials look realistic but man am I bad at using the graphic for materials hahahaha
Hi Esben Oxholm, could you please make a video about creating gun metal texture?
Hi William. Do you have any reference images of the exact look you are going for?

thank you so much. could you pls be able to make video about volume effect ?
Yup, good suggestion. Thanks.

Hi, take a look at this one: ruclips.net/video/QEWoulo2H5U/видео.html
Hello friend!!......Can you do a video talking about the light scheme used on "chair scene" that appears in the beginning of this on?!
This is fantastic! Can you share what lighting mode you used for this rendering? Product or Indoor mode... Thanks.
Thank you sir..........
The plane never light up in my keyshot. Why
Me too. Did u solve that?
@@phamhuy1710 try increase the Lumen Power to a very long value... like 500000.. it is a scale issue. And you can change lumen to watt power instead.
Thanks for your help. I found it out right after made that comment ahaha XD

Hi Tyler. Could it be that you don't have the Pro Version of KeyShots? That's what I'm using.
Thanks Esben
What texture/material is the ground plane? Cheers

how to add paper material? I don't have a paper texture in my material
when i switch my plane to the area light type it just blacks out :(
Hello sir, who to make gradient Glass finish like redmi note 7 Smartphone.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see what I can do.
