Wild to see, but it's how I remember it. I was sort of a newbie to Texas at the time, and couldn't believe Mansfield only had a Whataburger & DQ for fast food. Oh, and a Beefers for a while.
Oh myyy lands, I was a teen in those days. I worked at Kroger, Payless as a forklift driver and loader. If anything my biggest last job before the military was closing down the original Walmart and opening the big Un. I even dabbled at chik fil a for a hot minute. I still live in Mansfield
Mansfield grad here, so lovely to see videos of how we use to look. All the spots i use to run around with my friends. Memories of simpler times. The change is huge in contrast to the days we ran the streets.
I like Mansfield - stay there pretty much whenever I’m working on the south side of the Metroplex! I especially like the drive from Debbie and 287 over to Burleson on 1187 - you kind of get a taste of what it was probably like there in the “old days”……!!!! When this video was taken I was living in Minnesota and at the time had NO idea that one day I would live in Texas…….😂
I watched this and thought the same thing. The question also occurred to me to wonder if that was built as an Eckerds or was it one of the old Revco pharmacys that was turned into an Eckerds.
I really appreciate seeing this. I just moved to Mansfield 2yrs ago. It's so cool to see how small this town was. I can't believe how empty Debbie Lane looked.
When I was in middle school our bus driver sometimes took Debbie lane. She’d have us kids moo out there windows. She told us it was the scare the cows out of the street. 😂 I think she just did it so we’d look silly. It was great!
My how things have changed.😮 I've been here in TX since 2009 and lived in that area up til Sept. 2021. Mansfield is not the same. Lol. I liked it better up until just about 6 yrs ago. Now 😢 every piece of land is a house, business, multi family unit housing or something is under development or proposed. Miss the familiarity of the area, the parks and more walk friendly neighborhoods otherwise I don't miss the population growth at all but there is no escaping it. The area I'm living in now will be much like Mansfield in population very soon but on a smaller scale. TX is the chosen😂
Pepperoni's pizza and Beefer's Restaurant was in Mansfield too. My cousin worked at Beefers and my other worked at Pepperoni's My aunt worked at Kroger. Also My uncle worked at Payless Cashways.

Wow can’t believe how empty Debbie lane was , now I dread driving through it especially in rush hours 😅, great video
And a year later, it's even more added move to mansfield 10 years ago, and this is crazy how much it had changed

Wow, Eckerd's. Totally forgot about it. Thanks for sharing!

Wow. So glad you recorded this. I still live in Mansfield and needed a refreshment on how is used to be. Howdy neighbors

I miss when there was barely anything here
It’s even worse now. 😩
I use to go to eckerds till rite aid closed it in June 4 2007
I’ve seen and experienced so much at MHS that it’s kinda hard to believe Mansfield used to be somewhat peaceful.
ikr! what grade are u in or have u already graduated? i’m a sophomore now it’s crazy
@@Mari-zh8fp I graduated last year and I’ve never felt so liberated, everything was shit lmao (except AP classes)
I enjoyed this. I especially liked seeing the cars from back then. It was like going home. Thank you.
Thank you for this. What a great way to see my childhood again.
This is so much fun to watch! Mansfield has changed a lot!
My parents Restaurant "Pepperoni's" shows up for a split second.
Isn't that one right next to the Eckerd's? I remember eating there once or twice. What happened to the place?
I ate at Peperoni's a bunch of times. I also interviewed for a job there, but got hired at Wal-Mart the same day.
Loved Pepperoni's - went on Sundays and watched football games on TV.
Brent Sigman it was my favorite place Jonathon was my best friend
That's awesome. I almost had a job there. I played Rampage and pool there a lot.
What a GEM this video is!! Y’all drove through our neighborhood before our house was even built! This is too cool to see!

Was raised in mansfield in the 90s by my grandparents. Use to go to Alice Ponder, Donna Shepperd and I think Worley ha good times
I used to live in North Dallas back in '87, moved to Arlington in '92! Thanks for the memories.
Thanks for sharing, reminds me of where I grew up but it to got swallowed up by the metroplex.

Beefers had great little burgers...😊

Nice, I was born the year you guys filmed this!
You not even waved into the camera? Stunning.
Why there is a newspaper laying on the grass? Is it delivered that way? Weird.
Where the drug store was is a chicken place is.
Where Walmart is Walmarts brother (Sam’s) and a big box hardware store.
Kroger stores are almost like the one showed. Wal-Mart changed a lot. And Ekerd is out.
A Fam I
Reminds me of living near Paris TX back in 80s.
wow thanks for sharing
Pepperoni's! Many a softball, basketball, football, etc game ended with both teams huddled around the Rampage machine or the pool table!
Awesome!
wow this was the year I was born in 87 but in fort worth
wow
Mr
Glover?
"Extremely weird person" :DDD
And what are you?
heh heh, he was talking about me playing with a soccer ball in the yard. Its probably still a true assessment.
Good ol Mansfield when times were simple
