Abdusattorov did NOT have to "see" ALL of this before playing the rather obvious exchange sac RxBf4! Any strong player - "it's the 1st move to consider", and then even take the time to indulge yourself to ask "what else is there that even makes any sense other than RxB", a move that can be spotted and played in less than 2 seconds.
i went for rook takes immediately but i would have captured the pawn on e5 with the bishop, with the white rook attacked and the white queen vulnerable to a discovered attack with check it looked pretty strong to me. i'm sure there's somewhere where that line goes wrong for black though ahaha
A truly unbelievable level of calculation. I had seen the game so knew what he had calculated. I would not have managed that in one hour, never mind the short time Nordibek had. Thanks Jerry.
Great game from Nordirbek he’s playing great chess good effort from Van Foreest did his best to stay in it . Some great classic games played in Tata Steel so far . Thanks for analysis and the lines you shared Thanks Jerry
I get so happy hearing the ChessNetwork notification at the beginning of the videos when RUclips autoplays Jerry's video based on my history recommendations. Not all of Googles privacy invading practices can be all bad when they know to just send my favorite channels new vids right into the que
Incredible play by Nordirbek. Your explanations Jerry really highlighted where White went wrong & how amazingly precise black played in the double edged endgame. Black’s opening play seems very provocative. The risk that top pro chess players assume to pull their opponents into the proverbial “deep dark forest” is astounding. The top crop of young players are incredible calculating machines!
12 minutes to calculate all of this is insane. Do you think he saw all the lines up to b5 in the Ra4 line and the fulk line that played out or maybe he went a bit with intuition? Mind blowing skills
He saw the b5 line as he explains it in the post round interview in the Tata Steel channel. It truly is incredible to calculate all of that in 12 minutes though
Hi Jerry, at 4:46 you claim that f6 is bad because f4. But that would be an inaccuracy. Black has fxe5, fxe5, Nxe5! Black has two passed pawns for one Knight, has complete control of the center, and is most certainly better, even considering the material deficit.
I didn’t claim, or imply f6 was bad. f6 looks more like a necessity to free black’s cramped position, and f4 is one of the top replies. Some break has to happen for black. I was quick to make a somewhat random white move like Be2 since I wanted to emphasize the structure/space differences. The piece sac line you pointed it would be wild to see to humans play. Computers say 0, but that one can go any way between humans. What’s interesting however is that Bd2 instead of Be2 gives the piece sac line a much different eval, ballpark +1.5.
@@ChessNetwork Thanks for the reply! Interesting that you say the piece sac would be wild for humans to play, it was actually my first thought when I saw the position, two strong center Passed Pawns for only 1 point of deficit is crazy good. And while you're right that Bd2 is the better response, it actually leaves White open to the b6 line because after Ba6, bxc5,bxc5,Rb8, after White castles, Rb2 is an excellent move because the Bishop isn't guarding b2 anymore. A bit later down the line, Nxe5 becomes best move again, and the computer reads it at +0.4. My issue with White playing in this manner is that, while they do gain a lot of space, the Pawns are too overextended for it to be meaningful. Black has many options to attack White's Pawns, while White's pieces aren't developed enough to support them.
I did alright in the pop quiz! Got Rxf4 as the first move, but I figured the follow up would be Bxe5, not Qxe5. My thought was that Bxe5 forks both rooks, and the only way for black to get out of it was with Re4, which I thought lost to Bd4+ as an in-betweener. I don't know why I thought that. I'm just stupid, I guess. Maybe I would have realized that if I'd thought about it some more. But I can say there was no way I was going to see the actual solution. Insanely tactical; these GMs are machines.
Good luck solving the pop quiz in this video! :)
I was SO proud of myself getting the first move right. Then you continued... and continued...... x_X'

Amazing pop quiz Jerry! Wow! 🤯

A very complex game!! You, Jerry, are the best teacher ever!!
Jesus....that ending with both kings in hot water, sharp sharp game to be sure.
Hi Jerry, it's everyone!
👋
Finally he responded to one of these 😂🎉

I love your chess videos, Jerry. Your detailed breakdown of chess games is unparalleled! 💪
👍 Thank you
Thank you for this fun and intriguing analysis!
Your chill voice makes this video extra relaxing
👍
Thanks Jerry. I'm so happy that you've been posting regularly again over the past months. Any more tournaments for us to fall asleep to?
Black calculated like a genius; White only slightly less so. One of the sharpest games I’ve ever seen. Thanks Jerry.

Thanks Michael. 👍
Incredible game! That sequence was wild. Thanks Jerry!

What a great video. Of course I got the pop quiz right. First move only LOL That was some really cool stuff.
😎
I’d be interested to know how long Abdusatarov took on the clock to calculate before making his RxB move? Fantastic sequence thereafter.
The clock times are somewhat small but there. He took about 12 minutes. His wheels were turning fast! 😎
excellent analysis.
nice ~ dissected like no other.~! thnx Jerry
Very powerful battle!

What an amazing ending to this game!
Hi Jerry, do you know how the computer rates white's position at 3:05?
Ballpark +0.7
Awesome game. I wonder if he actually calculated that all out or just calculated enough of it to intuitively determine that it was likely to pan out.
He did. At least in the interview he said so.
Nod is my current favorite player
Incredible play by NA with only one inaccuracy when there are so many permutations to consider. Nerves of steel (unintended pun).
I *did* guess the exchange sac was in order. I did *not* calculate all that! Holy cow!
Hikaru would be proud to see this
