Check out this ROLEX 36mm Datejust REVIEW: ruclips.net/video/gaWKZYej9rY/видео.html Also...what is your FAV vintage Seiko? I'll see if I can get it on the channel if I can hunt a good example down! -Falling
My favorite vintage Seiko is my 17 jewels diashock manual wine with 66-997 movement 1960 lovely watches for not a lot of money. And it's fairly accurate for it's age wares like a dream 34mm
Just got a seiko 5606-700t 1969 today from Osaka it came with a maruman gold plated bracelet It is in beautiful condition and only cost me £50 which included shipping beautiful watch I love these old seiko,s I have a gold filled 1965 crown special arriving soon and next on the list will be a gold filled king seiko
I have a lord matic 5606-5011 which i was given as a present in 1973, i remember at the time it cost £49 UK which was more than an omega geneve which was £45.
Yesterday I received that same model in gold tone bought by ebay directly from Japan. Man, it is accurate and with a timeless classic beauty! I'm wearing it right now.
Wonderful to see reviews of vintage Seiko and really excited by this one because I have a 5606-7000 on its way from Japan. It is in a group purchase that now has much more significance. And it has the engraving on the back. Great timing - thank you.
Just found a LM Special 5206-6030 at an estate sale for $20 can’t wait to throw this one on a nice leather strap. Keeps time well but the day is no bueno. Might fix it later
Gold cap would be easy to spot from the backside, because they don't cover it. You'd be able to see the separation between the cap and the steel. More vintage pieces would add a nice variety also.
Great point! I saw a couple capped GS's where the bottom was silver SS but this thing held up so good I thought maybe it was a different technique lol. So its just a great plating
I have one with a faceted glass and melon green face and it is gorgeous. I will never part with it. It is a rare model that has a two tone tripe going down vertically across the watch face. Going to get it fully serviced and cleaned asap. I paid just under £300 for it and had a look for a similiar one online and found one exactly like mine and it was valued at £3500 . . .😊
Great work FT, these are really nice & underated watches, as are a lot of LM! I don't own one yet , so maybe I'll have to change that. My watch maker loves these movements, high quality & reliable (well apart from the plastic date change gear). I think these were gold plated rather than capped, but probably a higher quality than you get today! I'd offer to send in one of my vintage Seikos for review, but as I'm in the UK you might get clobbered with import vat or duty! Do you have 3 vintage Seikos now?
No just one, I sold this one. Bought it just to review it. And there was an issue with the KS rotor so I returned it. Might get the same one in gold on the hunt. So for now I just have my GS. I was planning on getting a couple more vintages and review but interest seems low in these watches.
Hi guys, I have just got a Lord Matic with the 5605 movement (date only) and love it. I was wondering, is it normal to feel resistance when hand winding with the older movements? It feels fully wound but don’t want to push it and break anything! I know modern watches just feel the same when being wound that’s all so want to make sure! Thanks all, have a good day. 👍
What a fantastic watch - great condition and that historic inscription is very cool. As well as the overall condition, I was very impressed by that sunday dial - better than a lot today (including many Seiko). Definitely on for more vintage Seiko - it seems a pretty impenetrable area of the hobby and there are some amazing watches at great prices (for now). Also, not so many people on YT cover this and I think Seiko interest is rapidly increasing. Nice one!
Glad you enjoyed it James. Well this video is not performing well vs our typical videos even micro brands out pacing it. So I don't think the interest is there yet! But I will consider doing more in the future.
Can I ask why the dial has a different serial number compared to what you've posted? Also!! did you notice the stamp on the caseback that tells you which of the two factories the watch was made in?
that is not a serial number its a movement and case number on the dial. And sometimes the last 4 are wrong for god knows what reason. Seiko did this in the past many times. An example is the transitional 57GS.
VTA. www.ebay.ca/itm/294077759576?hash=item4478668058:g:tYgAAOSwwhRg38oL keep in mind. If you change to the metal date changer and you change the date on the danger zone time 9pm to 3am the movement could be damaged.

Is there a reason you've never really show cased grand sieko on your channel are have I missed something
Simply do not have access to Grand Seiko yet but definitely trying. They may be coming to the channel soon!
@@EscapementWatch great 👍
The Seiko Vanac is one from the 70’s that always catches my eye, and if price is a guide, seems to be well sought after.

Lovely piece of history, they truly don't make them like they used to!
seiko mechaisms look like russian old poljots, looks like someone copied anyone..

Thanks for sharing
Sounds great! Care to share the vendor? Thanks.
these elevated SEIKO and LM logos are magnificent, as is the whole watch.
Just got a lordmatic and im really happy.

Hope you enjoy it! Great piece of history with a powerful movement.
Congrats on your new watch it's a very lovely timepiece

I got the non gold version a few years back on Facebook auction for around 30$.
Love the watch!!
I own the same but in silver but the Kanji day is definitely a + for me, Seiko forever 🙂
The grand Seiko sbga405 Godzilla case has a daddy . I knew Seiko had to have made that case before now I know thanks for sharing
So it does. Well observed.
Lord has arrived! Great vid
Great review! Love the watch and it's history. Definitely look forward to seeing more reviews of great finds like this one
More to come!
The case back engraving suggests that this watch was presented to railway employees by the company president for commendable work
Perfect timing video. Mines coming in the mail from Japan.
Hope you enjoy it!

Got a couple of pretty similar 1960s seikos, great value for the money, timeless design
Right on

Just proves they don't make them like they used to.
haha right on!
my seiko dx is gaining -1.5 sec per weak. and obvious 0.0 beat error. love my sixties vintage❣️

Sir, how to u regulate? Is it a hatch screw to remove?
Lovely looking watch and such a nice case shape.
Agreed!
Where can I buy this metal part?
Love vintage seikos, I’m trying not to purchase one online right now knowing that next year I’ll be headed to Japan and want to pick one up there.

All the kids these days telling the time either from their phone or their smartwatch dont know what they're missing(shut up granddad😅)
Lovely piece.
I got the exact same watch.

@@EscapementWatch ahhh didn't know this, interesting!
I have a question, does the date come in kanji only and english only or they’re both kanji and english together on the same dial?
I want to purchase
Can you please advise how to get this. Thanks
Does this beat at 4, 5 or 6 per second?
21600 bph = 6 per second
Great watch. I have two. You mentioned a company that makes the date wheel gear. Could you advise who they are? Thanks!
VTA. www.ebay.ca/itm/294077759576?hash=item4478668058:g:tYgAAOSwwhRg38oL
keep in mind. If you change to the metal date changer and you change the date on the danger zone time 9pm to 3am the movement could be damaged.
How do you find these examples? Just keep on ebay? Can you help me find a nice example. Big love from the UK
Is this watch easily servicable? How much would the servicr cost?
Service 150 USD
Isn’t the beat error of 1.6 a bit high for a fully serviced Watch? Most serviced pieces I see usually run well under 1.0, typically 0.1 or 0.2.
Yes it is!
Beautiful ❤️
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful watch ,l want to buy this watch, where can I get it,thx
check ebay or chrono24
I have old seiko watch and want to restore it
It is beautiful, i like its chinese word on its day
What's the beat rate on this? 21,600 like the NH35?
I want a NATO strap with mine :)
Namber oan👍
