Been struggling on this for days. Just managed to almost beat it following some tips here. When using dodge, my flag guy didn't move with the rest of the units. Just stood there and died to a claw attack. I hate how random this game is. I couldn't have done better, hadn't lost any health to the boss until then.
You HAVE to beat this boss JUST to get the stinking DON CHAKA song, which is the ENTIRE POINT OF THE EUROPEAN AND JAPANESE VERSIONS!!! “Patapon 2: DON CHAKA”, huh?

Im sure those patapons are upgraded but its amazing you can win only using normal ones. Thanks for teaching fever canceling. It was hard to win against this boss without going to full tree-pons for constant stagger or using final rarepons. BTW, have you gotten the healing staff? I cant farm it anywhere. I haveen redoing karmen missions and stlll no luck.. Hehe..

probably, in my opinion, the best way to fight Ciokina and Cioking is to equip your BEST stew and have some VERY STRONG EQUIPMENT. Demon AND Divine equipment. Make your hero a "Hero at the back" or a Yumipon, Mahopon or Megapon. He (or she) will stay at the back and when he doesn't obey your order, he still evades the attack. Luckily, Ciokina or Cioking will have no chance to attack because he/she will stagger like crazy.
That looks hard... I'm just going to go all out on him with tatespon's on steroids, a hero robopon, magic pon's(forgot names), and some more robopon's. If that doesn't work then I'm going to make an entire army of level ten tree pon's and hope that he won't even be able to attack.
ps: get a spear patapon as your hero patapon , step 2 get the dark red patapon ( that looks like a plant ) get it to level 10 get a critial spear or light spear something light that and you get infinate knockback :D
i'm playing in easy (first time played this game) and my loots dont stay so long compare to yours. does the difficulty level affects that? however nice job ;)

I found a way to kill cioking! It can save your time! Put your hero to a yumipon and use either form of the ultimate rarepons (sabara, gyaba, or mogyu), let him use an ice bow and put your mask to shubabasaa (final form of the default hero mask).
my god howd you get all of those weapons?!? I've gotten rare hats from bosses and put them on Archers and ive got some good weapons from that one mini game with the smelting guy but how did you get so many good weapons?
if you use tatepons, they can make a large gap between cioking and your hatepon, death-claw attacks will be more likely to miss, no need to fever cancel. just make sure you still try to run away, even with tatepons, works for me. Also, if you levelled your patapons they might kill it faster. Also, those symbols that appear around fever (the skull and those white symbols), what do they mean?
I beat this boss with 3 monkey mahopons equipped with Heaven, Divine and Demonic staffs, 4 tree and 2 mushroom yumipons, and kibapons equipped with great thunder lances. The poor crab couldn't even move once.
And also, you can kiss your Hatapon (flag bearer) good bye if he were to get hit by the Crab's claw attack. Lastly, the new bubble attack that the Crab spits out. You might want to avoid that at all cost. If your Hero gets caught in it, not only will he get killed, he'll retire from the ENTIRE battle.
I hate it when my hero goes to hero mode and the monster is getting ready to attack,I do pon pata pon pata,my players run but he stays and gets killed.
this boss is easy, i recommend using yumipon (rarepon the tree thing lvl 10) and equip with a divine weapon. why the tree rarepon, because it has 200%cnc plus the 100 that gives the divine weapon makes 325% which means almost all stagger and its easy.
this ciokina boss is hard... everytime she blows bubbles my dekapons got inside of those bubbles and they rise.. then boom,, they die... i like it when she leaves potions behind...

Its not exclusive to Japanese version, its exclusive to the hard difficulty in game. In medium and easy it doesn't exist, but in hard you need 2-3 perfect combos to activate hero mode

Fkn Ciokina, this and Kachindonga seem to be the most difficult for me, but U have a good technich on keeping the hero out.

Eventually, you can keep the fever mode to beat this boss. Cause the revive aliment statue song could dodge her bubble attacks.

toripon you get by the sabara (top right end of yaripon evolution)
Mahopon you get by the koppen (penguin) yumipon

Here's a random guess does it have anything to do with the magepons?
if you use tatepons, they can make a large gap between cioking and your hatepon, death-claw attacks will be more likely to miss, no need to fever cancel.
just make sure you still try to run away, even with tatepons, works for me.
Also, if you levelled your patapons they might kill it faster.

It serves as warning each time you hit 4 drum beats bad. The next time you do it again whilst the skull is present, it will cancel your fever.
Cool, the only thing in the game that confuses me would be that leveling tree thing.

you can use the pata pon don chaka to evade the BUBBLES that makes you sleep.

Giant enemy crab! Attack it's weak point for massive damage!
Even having the best patapons/weapons this boss is still the hardest & most challenging id rather fight Zuttankarmen
