The word for this song is mesmerizing. I am 63 and this album was released in 1977 (when I turned 18 in June and graduated High School). The Summer of 77 was an AMAZING time for music: Saturday Night Fever (the movie and soundtrack), our introduction to Frankie Beverly and Maze and Heatwave, and other artists with new releases like The Brothers Johnson (the album Right on Time w/the hit single Strawberry Letter 23), the Isley Brothers (Go for Your Guns w/the hit Footsteps in the Dark), the Commodores (w/the hits Brickhouse, Easy and Zoom). That was a Golden Summer and I'm STILL Blessed from it.🤗🤗😍😍💃💃

This was ten1st smooth jazz album I bought called, Pressure Sensitive, before they were even using the term smooth. After Grover Washington (Just the Two of Us), & David Sanborn (Chicago Song), Ronnie was the cat! He mainly focused on tenor & soprano sax. What stood out, was that he incorporated a vocal chorus into his tunes, like in this one, when the voices come in. His brother, Hubert is considered the best flautist, hands down, for decades! So it’s hard for the family to be in that shadow. The reason for Hubert’s high acclaim has to do with his amazing technique, associated with classical music, but a rich tone on flute that almost know one has acquired, with the exception of his student, Dave Valentin, who was also a successful smooth & Latin jazz artist. While Dave didn’t possess the virtuosity of Hubert when it came to improvising, he did have that full rich tone that was almost unequalled, & he played with a kind of lit energy, sometimes humming into the flute. Dave Valentin was the one who brought Angie Bofill to the attention of Dave Grusin at the GRP record label. They were both from the Bronx & had worked together on the Latin salsa circuit. They were the 1st 2 artists signed to that label. He had a solo on Angie’s, ‘The Only Thing I Would Wish For’, & she sang on his, ‘We’ll Make Love’. Your taste would dig those. Back to Ronnie, I believe he also put in some time with Earth , Wind & Fire. The sisters have also done their share of work over years, but their closest to hit were Eloise’s The Key, & Debra’s Family. A video & song you might enjoy is ‘Comfort Zone’, by Vanessa Williams, which features Ronnie’s brother Hubert on a solo on that cut.

Don't care about bits and pieces or samples of songs. Chopped up by people who can't create those sounds. Just appreciate the entirety of the song. Listen to a dozen songs on the album. Consume the full meal and be satisfied. Jazz has different forms and genre. Seems like you like the contemporary, smooth jazz genre which is influenced by pop and r & b. Smooth jazz fans is a smaller and usually a more mature age market than the current popular music market. You won't see a lot of elaborate, attention getting videos because fan interest is driven by the artist's talent and creativity. Hearing jazz songs that are decades old still can sound fresh and give feeling. While newer versions of the song by jazz artists can make those same songs new and different.
