We're heading to a future where you build a GPU and not a PC. Just open up Vram to work as shared system memory, add some M.2 slots on the back and you're half way there!
From what I gather, you want your pciex16 traces to be as short as possible to help GPU-cpu communication (No idea how much tho.) So it's an issue of fitting it in there
@@andrekz9138 there is a max distance for the newer pcie gens where they need a signal boost so they stay within spec. That's not too hard or too expensive to implement though and they may be able to run those traces without boosting the signal.
It’s almost like AIB partners don’t understand that compact is actually higher end, so Nvidia had to prove to them that there’s a market for it. Hopefully AIB partners actually take the hint for next gen GPUs!
Gamers haven't wanted compact for a long time. People also forget that the xx90 cards are the replacement for 2x xx80 cards in SLI, so a 3.5 slot 4090 is still 0.5 slot smaller than two 2 slot 4080's. Yea, they are monsters but they were intended to replace the two card setups of years past.

GPUs have definitely gotten too big, and you can tell the component manufacturers were caught off guard. Really glad that the 5090FE is returning to a much more manageable form factor.
It's always nice to see atx motherboards with only two memory slots. I don't really overclock memory but I also never use all four slots anyway; so, I like the extra stability and the nicer look of only two slots for the two sticks of ram.
One of the nice things about the A318 TX BTF is with the 24 pin power and fan headers on the back is that even with the fish tank CPU cooler, the ram is visible, accessible and gets some fresh air now too. And simply by soldering the hunk of plastic threaded through the holes the other way. It wasn't a huge engineering feat. I cant believe this has taken so long for someone to do. Cant see the forest for the trees I guess.
Sounds like you don't know how to read specs, 5090 is a professional card for professional use. Literally, nothing on the market compares to it for professional use, as always, the founders edition will sell out as ever other top-tier card does on their website. Nidvia is worth more than GOOGLE by a lot they clearly know what they are doing.
90% of them are too big. This is not the way to go with computers getting smaller. 2 spot coolers or nothing. The 5090 proves it is possible on a card that has absurd power usage.
So when are we going to have cases, just for the GPU and a GPU specific power supply? Seriously, they are getting too big. For the first time in 20 years, I have no wish to upgrade my gaming rig. It's just not worth the potential issues or cost.

That’s too big, too much for anyone to handle! Half that size is easily enough for fit inside anything, even just 6 inches is more than enough for anyone!
I respect that motherboard manufacturers are making efforts to move the cabling behind the board but the GPU manufacturers need to also follow suit because they’re all still putting the connectors on the outside facing edge, which really defeats the purpose of a “cableless” build.
Your cableless build has zero importance or relevance. Gamers make up 15% of all the GPU sales and only about 10% of gamers globally are into dressing their PC's up like little girls do with their dolls. 85% of the GPU's are going to be installed in some office by an IT guy and neither nvidia or AMD are going to upset an industry standard just to appease the turbo nerds. You want your power delivery as close to the chip as possible, this is why your CPU power is always just above the CPU socket instead of being located next to the 24 pin. If you located it to the "right side" versus "outside facing edge" which I'll just call the front or presentation side, you will end up with power delivery traces overlapping all the other traces which becomes problematic from an interference standpoint. That or you get traces that should be equal in length or a certain distance away as to not interfere with timing that cannot be because you are not working from the center of the PCB.
It will keep the rear of the card in place, while the screws keep the "front" (where the ports are) in place. Once unscrewed it's free to release the rear of the card automatically.
First time in a long time I feel more driven to just get a founder's card than one of these custom units. Testing and performance to come will hopefully shed some more light.
A self-releasing PCIe latch. Excellent for for PC building companies that suck at packing computers for shipping. Especially so, now that top GPUs are clearing $2k. That'll be a fun sound to hear clunking around in a box someone overpaid for.

Better to be big and cool than small with a lot of problems. They are desktop gpu's in the end of the day, not for mobile devices like smartphones or handheld consoles. Desktops are meant to be sitting on a desk and deliver the best performance that silicone can possibly provide.
Do like that they added an AIO pump header on the front side of the BTF boards. Bit of an oversite previous generations. MATX users are going to have to make sure their boards have the GPU in the first slot and not in the 2nd if they want to fit a 5090 since most of them are 4 full slots now.
Seeing the power wire shoved into the connector and then just hanging down the wall makes me question their marketing department. These are demo boards... tack solder the power wires to the BACK of the board, and run it so we don't see the wire at all. MUCH neater!
we additional supports for these things. the answer to the question that didn't need asking at that point was obviously. gpu manufactures need to focus on shrinking this stuff down (Less materials equals less cost to incentivize them) and lowering heat over increasing fps. Just maintain the current fps, graphics quality and fps are at a good point to let it stay there for a decade or 2. Thumbs up on the video
Yeah, helping someone install their 4090 was a pain, they had one of those "display LED rave party" cases. Couldn't fit, even with extra drive bays removed. Tldr, we got a new case together and set it up with the horizontal display. They are gaming GPUs as well as used for a blunt object for beating any home intruders.
I'm more concerned with if my future PC with Mondo Ultra Omega GPU is going to require a 220 outlet because it's gonna keep tripping the breakers on my 15 or 20 amp circuit.
with how much work you have I don't think you'll do it but : can you tell which GPU have a 10" pcb ? It's for watercooling, the 8" nvidia reference will look dumb in my build. Also does phanteks, bitspower and other watercooling manufacter have blocks on display ?

i think they should make ram go to the back of the motherboard, right underneath the processor socket, so it doesnt interfere with coolers
