I've heard this song Practically my entire life but it was until recently did I realized how good it really is, especially when Lew DeWitt the composer of the song and original Statler brother sings it.... but this was a fun version also
breakin news to all country music fans Harold reid statler brothers bass singer dies at age 80 kiney failure thoughts and prayers goes out to the reid family at this sad times .thanks Kathy Davidson my favorite song flowers on the wall
OMFG, This is the first time I've heard this. Campbell and Dewitt are twins. I couldn't tell the difference. I wish I could hear Campbell singing Bed of Roses with them
@@joanbryant4601 Jimmy is older now than all of the others were when the Statler Brothers retired. He's doing pretty well with a new quarted, Brothers of the Heart.
On The Glen Campbell Music Show Glen's band was facing center stage (off to Harold's right) with the audience on either side.....The banjo player is Carl Jackson (Glen's bandleader at the time)
Cash gave them their start. They were part of his road show and TV show for 8 1/2 years before they went out on their own. They provide backup vocals on MANY of Cash's albums.
@@thejoshsings894 and Jimmy's a much more prolific songwriter. The Statlers never had a no. 1 hit until 1978. When Jimmy joined, they had a no. 1 song for each of the next 3 years, all written by Jimmy.

I love this song reminds me of my childhood and listening to this with Daddy on his hifi
So glad to have witnessed Glen's amazing career.
Won't be another like him, that's for sure.
I love sitting here on a Saturday night watching the The Statler Brothers. It takes me back to when I was a kid watching them.
All class act👍🏻
R.I.P. Harold Reid, please tell our friend Glen Campbell we love him too.
And don't forget Lew DeWitt too.
Rip Harold. 4 -24-2020.
Rest In Peace glen Campbell
And Harold Reid.
30 Years Pulp Fiction ! 😊

Lew had this incredible rockabilly tone going on with his guitars on some tracks...

New Zealanders of a certain vintage know the melody of this song as the theme to "A Dog's Show".
“It’s still high”, “it’s because you ain’t”
😂😂😂😂😂
Love this performance ❤❤❤❤❤ massive respect ❤❤❤❤❤
That song is my all time favorite love this song remembered it when I was just a young girl
2020 theme song...
Cool video! Glen Campbell is the only performer that could ever be good enough to blend with the Statlers!
Or The Beach Boys...
A real talent for the ages. Glen Campbell will be missed for years and years to come.
@@TrueMinnesotan or about 300 others lol
Johnny Cash comes to mind😁
Johnny Cash sounded good with them too.
Here we see Glen's background as a studio musician: he's able to blend in and pick up on the others perfectly.
Okay, FLOWERS ON THE WALL is one of the best songs ever! And I don't even like most country...
You are right.
OMFG, This is the first time I've heard this. Campbell and Dewitt are twins. I couldn't tell the difference. I wish I could hear Campbell singing Bed of Roses with them
Wow, that was great! Thanks for posting.
Love this.
Also 2 cool Ovations; Glen's 1537 Elite and the Statler's Brothers 1624 Country Artist. This video has everything!
+Mitch Williams Thanks for your comment. Hadn't noticed that before!
Would have loved to seen Glenn and Lew on stage together... That would have been some serious guitar picking;
CHECK THEM SUITS OUT ,,WOW,,, i want one now in 2021 white shoes and all and i will grow a mostach and buy an old rambler
Wow. This Flowers On The Wall quintet was good
Brilliance.
Great song
RIP🙏🙏
Smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo
And isn't Jimmy so sweet and young?!
man, I wish the 5 of them had recorded this together, just sounds amazing
Yeah that would have been awesome! Harold,Phil,Lew,Glen and Don!
It sounds like a big mess.
How does it sound like a big mess? I think they sound great together. I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree with you
This is music!!!!
Brilliant
This is a song about break up.. heartache. Heartbreak. That's my take on this fun song.
Glen sounded like Lew in this video with the Brothers which is very good
Lew DeWitt was probably watching this show in hes home smiling
They, like Glen, fail to get the credit they are due.
Glenn was awesome. That scene in The Wrecking Crew where he plays that guitar part backwards...
À swedish Guy coming to USA in 1978 and heard statlers . Thats somethings. Else wy didnt they comeback to sweden
Glen is singing Lew’s part!
This must be one of Jimmy's first performances as a member of the Statler Brothers since taking over for Lew.
Yep. He looks so young. Of course he was only 27 when he joined them. Absolutely fantastic singer, composer and humble man.
@@joanbryant4601 Jimmy is older now than all of the others were when the Statler Brothers retired. He's doing pretty well with a new quarted, Brothers of the Heart.
A legion with legions I like it
most people don't know that lew the one who found jimmy fortune theres a storie of jimmy talking about it on youtube
Jimmy Fortune had just replaced Lew Dewitt--the writer of this song--and was brand new to the Statler Brothers when this performance was recorded.
I wanna know where the banjo player is hiding...
On The Glen Campbell Music Show Glen's band was facing center stage (off to Harold's right) with the audience on either side.....The banjo player is Carl Jackson (Glen's bandleader at the time)
She still with the film director, what about Marcel is he out the picture?
Beware, Do not listen this song in a stop light while you're running away from the MOB.
Especially if you're carrying a loaded gun and there's a young man in the back seat!
" Z is dead babe, Z is dead ..." 😊
glen kinda goofed it up... but still good...
Who's on Banjo? Wow
He sounds and kinda looks like Lou. Almost like all 5 were singing together
If we really want truth it is up to us to dig for it.
Glen Campbell is another performer that would've fit in perfectly with the Statler Brothers. Johnny Cash would've been the same way.
Cash gave them their start. They were part of his road show and TV show for 8 1/2 years before they went out on their own. They provide backup vocals on MANY of Cash's albums.
Actually it wasn’t that high
Why did they replace the one dude with this short guy?
He was sick - later passed away.
he's an excellent filler for lew
It looks like Glenn is playing a cheating banjo.
Poor Glen is high as a kite.
jimmy definitely is no Lew Dewitt
Lew picked Jimmy to replace him.
Lew had some great tones on his guitars...
No, but he sure can sing!
