Very excellent re-edit, re-original-creation of the (one of my favorite films of all time) trailer of a most excellently already edited underrated 'cult-classicy' film. In particular the way you slowed down a few scenes, and allowed the detail of the high-res film of a remastered content to shine. Also I happened to have the soundtrack stuck in my mind atm, and Tulsa Tango gets me fired up about life, and the bs we are being dealt atm.
Sorry have to comment on my comment. I'm showing this trailer off and re-watching it. Excellent excellent re-edit of a trailer that truly captures the movie's feel. I figure Coppola wasn't the most respectable creative, considering who he associated with, but damn.. seeing this film vs. the supposed other S.E. Hinton novel film he 'made' the prior year that was a heap of current mainstream nonsense, while this film was an unabashed art film, taking full advantage of the 'indie-era-freedom' that Hollywood permitted at the time.
Thanks a lot for the compliment Mike! I actually spent some months editing it - in a moment I was very obsessed with the film - and I really wanted to do more than a trailer, as you said a recreation, a tribute, tried to synthethize its spirit, compress the whole thing in a flash. Even though I projected some narrative, what I really wanted was to honor and highlight the poetic value of the images in Rumble fish.. for me, it’s an example of pure cinema (you can tell that from the fact that with only image and sound, and no dialogue, I could still draw the narrative inside its same original laws) and the place it occupies in Coppolas filmography, and the way he managed to be sincere, and deep, but fun... Glad that you noticed! :)
I wrote a very detailed essay on the movie too, I guess you may be interested. I mean, it is in portuguese, but I just tested translating it in google and I think the arguments remain pretty understandable hahah here: filmesdorodriguez.wordpress.com/2018/08/28/rumble-fish-o-selvagem-da-motocicleta/
Well Done! One of my favourite movies, just got the trailer it deserves!
Can’t believe there wasn’t a big rumble in this like the outsiders. The one v one fight should’ve happened after
Love your rendition of this great film! Very well done! Gracias!
You did a great job re-inventing the trailer for this film. Bravo.
I know right? It's a beautiful trailer for a beautiful film. ”Rumble Fish” is a masterpiece, in my opinion.
