- Gordon Sumner, known to the world as Sting, is a hard person to pin down. The son of a milkman in Newcastle, England, he's dug ditches, taught school, and had a string of hits as front man of The Police - only to walk away from the highly-successful band to forge a solo career. Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, a filmmaker and actress, invited "Sunday Morning" anchor Charles Osgood to talk music, and to share a lunch with recipes from Trudie's cookbook. Originally broadcast November 7, 1999.

Sting is an icon
Sting's music gets me through this pandemic.. I am very much impressed with he and his wife Trudie's work for the rain Forrest and environment. I am concerned and love this world and what it offers as well as love Jesus Christ and his concern for the world. Brand new day is one of my favorites. We need to start a brand new day of love and kindness.
And there you go. He can do it all. It's much appreciated.

I too am a renaissance man. I also have the same birthday as sting. And I’ve been a singer songwriter since as far back as I can remember. The universe works in mysterious ways...

Yeah I get you. Many of his solo songs have a 'jazzy' element to them [such as his debut album] and they mostly work but yeah all those classic Police songs should not be messed around with 😥
