Really love the van colour. How do you make the shots look so good, are you some kind of profesional filmmaker? Some shots inside the car looked like from twin peaks or something . Why the dog has to be on the leash? Isn't he a good boy?
Awe, thank you ☺I do shoot video for a living. The dog (gunther) is a good boy! Still getting to know the area, but the first time we went up there and found a spot near this one, he stepped on a little cactus. They are tiny and have barbs on them, so it went in his foot and then it was really painful to pull it out. Not many cactus in this spot... but i'm still a bit worried.
Soon! Turns out that the hard starting at the end of the video was a sign that something is wrong with my engine 😥 Van died last weekend 7 hours from home, dropped valve seat. Going to try to replace the head this weekend... never tried to attempt any engine repairs myself (or removed the engine), so fingers crossed!!!
@@JONBEEOTCH Aw man, I’m sorry to hear that hopefully she’s up and running again soon. Going to pick up my first westy hopefully tm. Fingers crossed, can’t wait for more content.
@@Cle_M3 Awesome! They are definitely an emotional investment. Had mine for 14 years, the best/worst thing in my life. Memories and moments, good and bad ☺
@@JONBEEOTCH man I’m so excited, just went and looked at it. It was rust free just needs some body work and a new pop tent. Might make a video on the restoration in the coming future
Thank you! My spare situation isn't great... These all terrain tires will not fit in the spare tire holder under the front of the van, so I currently have an older street tire as a spare. I have been learning to weld to try to keep the van alive (bad rust), so I built the ladder on the back. I'm planning to eventually get rid of the ladder and build a bigger rack that could also hold a full size spare.
What a video! Why does it have so few views? One small feedback from me, if you don't mind: The very atmospheric music did stop relatively abrupt at 15:53, which was a bit disturbing to me. Apart from that I've had the feeling of watching a very good documentary. In my opinion you could definitely launch this video as as a short film!
Thank you 😊 I can see/feel what you are saying... feedback is always welcome. All the other van/camping videos I've made have been music driven with abrupt changes. Wanted to try something more silent, real, to look back on later, so I did struggle with the idea and placement of music.
I appreciate the honesty. I'm assuming that is a common thought. Still in the process of how I want to share, what I want to look back on and why... vs what entertains or is digestible to others, and if there is a happy medium. Thanks again!
The cinematography combined with T25/vanagon action is epic. This will definitely catch on. Love it. Well done, what a relaxing watch.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the kind words.
I teach people how to film and edit at a college level, I can honestly say, I LOVE this. Its pace, how it's shot, the whole feel of it!
Thank you so much!!! That means a lot 😊
Great stuff. The sounds remind me of outings in my beloved truck camper. And the views are outstanding. 👍👍
Thank you! Ya, we sure live in a beautiful place!
Excellent job!! :)
Thank you very much! It was a lot of fun 😊
Your old van is really good 😊😊
Thank you! I love it, but I'm also desperately trying to stop it from rusting away!
really love it, keep it up 🎉🎉
I really appreciate that! Thank you, will do 😊

Fun fact the fridge has a solenoid so it can only run when it sees above 14v on the battery

Nicely shot video. Question, where is your spare?
