Of course, I'm a little younger, maybe even from the other side of the world 🇺🇦 from you, but even I remember this song, it's youth... beautiful songs they know no boundaries And they are eternal
For a brief period of time I had a close friendship with Lita Ford and asked her about this song and the meaning. She told me that she and Ozzy stayed up all night talking and writing and the subject of Child abuse came up. This song is about a girl who suffered from sexual abuse at a young age but was older and in love, newly married, and trying to separate the sexual part of the relationship with her demons and the frustrations of their new love and his inability to deal with her “childhood” tragedy. He After she explained this..the song was never the same to me. This is probably the deepest song ever written by either artist.
Great story. I did some work on her house while she lived in Panama city FL. I loved when she would talk to us because she's so down to earth. Doesn't have a huge ego. Very sweet woman
Reminds me of my ex-wife sitting on the edge of the bed one night early in our relationship. She was looking down very sad and said to me, "You can't possibly understand...." I said, "Your father sexually abused you." She immediately looked up, "How did you know!" She was the 6th woman in a row for me that had been sexually abused. I spent a lot of time being an untrained counselor back then. This stuff happens a lot more than most people want to admit.
I have seen Ozzy in concert 7 times. On the 7th one Lita came out on stage to sing this song. In the past 6 concerts i never heard a crowed get so loud in my life as they did when she came out! This is by far on of both of there best songs ever! Was so glad i got to see them both in concert together. Thanks for sharing!!!
I missed my dads passing by just a couple minutes, and as I whispered in his ear that I loved him, to finally walk with my mom in heaven, I closed his eyes forever, and no, nothing remains the same.
I'll tell ya why the 80's were so, so, so very fucking amazing! After decades of pain, suffering, wars, strife, and struggle, America could FINALLY break free, and take a break, relax, and LIVE! These two were at the apex of their careers, and gave us their best in this profound piece!!!! God it's good to be 53, I lived at the right time!
Please Mike, tell me that we can again achieve the same time as the 80's or that you have invented a time machine!Look at how things have become now... and I cannot imagine a world of love and peace anymore!!!I am seriously thinking of closing my eyes forever! :(
Do not give up, there IS hope, because there are still solutions to problems, and of course, a billion places to start all over, on this magnificent planet! Otherwise, I would have closed my eyes by now, but I STILL love "life", I just have to find a way to light the fires again, ya know? (HUG)
You are describing the folly of not just America, but western civilization. Pain, suffering, war, strife, struggle, that's what life IS. If a society rejects that, it rejects life, and puts its very existence in jeopardy. It is no coincidence then, that shortly after, western civilization is being flooded with members of other civilizations, who do not have our best interests in mind, and who do not care if we continue to exist. Embracing pain and struggle is imperative! It is the natural order, our survival depends on it.
That is one of the nice things about music. Suddenly, with the right song, you are young again...until you start trying to dance and throw out your back, hip, or whatever and are in bed rest for a week.
I used to DJ in the mid 90s and someone asked for this song and ever since that day, I have been a huge fan of this rock ballad. One of the most amazing ballads out there with two exceptionally talented singers / musicians. What an treasure it is and loved it then and still do. Played it many times since and it is a hit with everyone and every time.
...almost did it in the early 1990's. 🥀💀🥀, but I'm still trying to hang on in 2024....this song is iconic.... a lot of eye's did close 4 ever @ 4:23...😢🤘🥀
The music scene sucks ass now. idiot black musicians like Kardi B and prostitutes like Miley pooping in the punchbowl. The don't make em like this anymore.
That song still gives me a shiver every time I hear it! And I always cry at the end when Ozzy sings even after all these years they are so awesome together Bless You Both
What an amzing song... such power, such elegance, and so deep. Both their voices are absolutely perfect and the guitar work and solo are amazing. An absolute all time classic jam!!! Chills many times through it and have to get up and just close my eyes and jam to it!
By year 2018 this song is 30 years old... Thirty. Today we still keep on listening to it, and have a deep respect to it because it can interpret our inner emotions. And I have no doubt it will do the same by the year 2048 when its 60.
This song really helped me deal with some dark times with my fathers death at his own hands. One of the best songs I've EVER heard! Man I miss the 80's music!
Lita Ford was a rocker and with Ozzy both singing together make a great duo. I understand this song being about abuse of a daughter from her father sexually. I have a daughter I love with all my heart we adopted and would never do anything to hurt her. This song is so well written and done by these two that your heart hurts for those they sing about. Music was so good back then because the producers didn't have a hand in it then like they do today. Producers have no clue.
This song brings tears to my eyes... Makes me miss my sister that's been gone for 7 years... This was our song back in the day... Heather Marie I miss you!
2025 and this song still great...80's music still the best growing up and the best music. Summers were the best times back then. 57 soon, and I still love my 80's music.
I know this came out in the fall of 1988, but I’m still burning a lighter for it.To all the girls that wore those jackets, and could really hear this song and those like it, I love you forever. It’s hard to believe now, that at one time, a generation of girls listened to Heart and drew hearts on notes, inspired by the lyrics of Dreamboat Annie. You were, and are, wonderful. Music now, simple doesn’t hold a candle to the heyday of the real MTV, before it became a “reality,” show fraud.
So much could be said about this song. So many parallels to humanity and the evil vs good struggle. Ozzy representing the devil offering sweet promises, Lita representing human innocence falling for the false promises. This song is probably the deepest and darkest and no one caught it. Now you know. Where are you on the struggle? Did you close your eyes?
Good, clean, music! No explicit crap that needs to be censored! Just good freaking music! This country needs a reset and redo option! God bless us all!
Someone that so special in my life just passed away, it was a very difficult and rough weeks. It's like my whole world stop. listening to this song it helps me coup and takes away the pain...
I was in a relationship that I thought would go on forever, turns out I was the 3rd wheel while her husband was out of town for a bit. She took the opportunity of having an affair while he was gone. I didn't know anything until long after. Everytime I hear this song, I think of her
Keep in mind that the very first music video ever played on MTV was "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles. If ya think about it, that song was pretty much MTV killing itself before it even began, by ironically cutting it's own main artery just to slowly bleed out and face it's own demise by starting it's music video debut with that song.
Oh my god I have only just found and heard this song and I can not stop listening to it, it actually brings a tear to my eyes and makes my hair stand on my arms what an absolute tune and the lyrics remind me of my and partner and what we are going through 😢❤️ I love ozzy so much xxxxx
This song always pulled and tugged on the Heartstrings for me ,to this day it still gets me tesry eyed .......love Miss Lita Ford Queen of Heavy Metal Rock&Roll and Ozzy well everyone likes Ozzy, if they don't they would have to be from another planet lol
OH MY GOSH!!!!! SO SO MANY OF US................ this world today, is freaking crazy, and people thought this time of this video was??? LOL Remember when peeps were saying Ozzy -- listen to his 'records' backwards. :D :D LOL That was SO FREAKIN CRAZY!!!
Like most of the others that have left comments already, I agree 100% that this is a timeless classic and duos like Ozzy and Lita Ford don't come around very often. It remains near the top of my list of favorite songs.
Damn, how I wish I could've been a teen of the 80's. This generation has gone to shit with today's music. So much talent, substance, and emotion. Nowadays it's only about getting turnt up and yolo with auto tunes, candy ass beats, and getting triggered.
Well Ozzy has closed his eyes forever. Just watched video about his passing. Though I didn't know Ozzy learned more personal info from short video of his passing I still felt like I lost a friend been a fan of his music since the 1980's that the end of the music has come it's a sadden thing. More people should put his image aside and listen to the words to his songs. War Pigs Black Sabbath a prophetic song as many other. War Pigs listen to the words as you look out your window at the world today. Well life goes on so will just say thank you Ozzy for the songs that you left. Well anyways

Oh, and BTW thanks for explaining the deeper meaning of this song Gotyouback Bro. It definitely gives it more significance.
Wow! Thank you for sharing! This song just took on a whole new meaning for me.
Why did you have to do that for the rest of us?
They DO NOT make songs like this anymore. I thank God I grew up in the late 70s and all of the 80s. Rock on
SO TRUE
I was born in 1956, this man was the first metal I listened to, never looked back!
I feel SO bad for people that didn't grow up during that time ❤
My dad was born in 1970. The perfect time to be born. His teens were crazy. I miss him a lot. I have a few of his old concert tickets from the 80s.

Ray you are so right about the music of the 60,70s and 80s.todays music just alot of noise.

I'm 53 and this was a sexy song, God I feel old, but on the flip side, I feel that pulse of youth again!
Im 50 never felt stronger or better, and yes this song is awesome
You are not old you are young still and you are alive
That is one of the nice things about music. Suddenly, with the right song, you are young again...until you start trying to dance and throw out your back, hip, or whatever and are in bed rest for a week.
Just turned 48 I'm fine
2024. Feeling sad for all the modern gen, who didn't experience real music from as early as the 60's to 90's.

Question: Why doesn't Ozzy Osbourne have this song on any of his best hit's cd?! This is a beautiful song. April 2024. USA
This is Lita Ford's song, not Ozzy's. He collaborated with her on it.
