    For a brief period of time I had a close friendship with Lita Ford and asked her about this song and the meaning. She told me that she and Ozzy stayed up all night talking and writing and the subject of Child abuse came up.
    This song is about a girl who suffered from sexual abuse at a young age but was older and in love, newly married, and trying to separate the sexual part of the relationship with her demons and the frustrations of their new love and his inability to deal with her “childhood” tragedy. He After she explained this..the song was never the same to me. This is probably the deepest song ever written by either artist.

      Great story. I did some work on her house while she lived in Panama city FL. I loved when she would talk to us because she's so down to earth. Doesn't have a huge ego. Very sweet woman

      @jesstowns10 2 года назад +30

      Reminds me of my ex-wife sitting on the edge of the bed one night early in our relationship. She was looking down very sad and said to me, "You can't possibly understand...." I said, "Your father sexually abused you." She immediately looked up, "How did you know!" She was the 6th woman in a row for me that had been sexually abused. I spent a lot of time being an untrained counselor back then. This stuff happens a lot more than most people want to admit.

    I'll tell ya why the 80's were so, so, so very fucking amazing! After decades of pain, suffering, wars, strife, and struggle, America could FINALLY break free, and take a break, relax, and LIVE! These two were at the apex of their careers, and gave us their best in this profound piece!!!! God it's good to be 53, I lived at the right time!

    • @trendwave5615

      Please Mike, tell me that we can again achieve the same time as the 80's or that you have invented a time machine!Look at how things have become now... and I cannot imagine a world of love and peace anymore!!!I am seriously thinking of closing my eyes forever! :(

    • @SoapinTrucker
      @SoapinTrucker 8 лет назад +23

      Do not give up, there IS hope, because there are still solutions to problems, and of course, a billion places to start all over, on this magnificent planet! Otherwise, I would have closed my eyes by now, but I STILL love "life", I just have to find a way to light the fires again, ya know? (HUG)

    • @raisinade
      @raisinade 8 лет назад +5

      You are describing the folly of not just America, but western civilization. Pain, suffering, war, strife, struggle, that's what life IS. If a society rejects that, it rejects life, and puts its very existence in jeopardy. It is no coincidence then, that shortly after, western civilization is being flooded with members of other civilizations, who do not have our best interests in mind, and who do not care if we continue to exist. Embracing pain and struggle is imperative! It is the natural order, our survival depends on it.

    Lita Ford was a rocker and with Ozzy both singing together make a great duo. I understand this song being about abuse of a daughter from her father sexually. I have a daughter I love with all my heart we adopted and would never do anything to hurt her. This song is so well written and done by these two that your heart hurts for those they sing about. Music was so good back then because the producers didn't have a hand in it then like they do today. Producers have no clue.

    I know this came out in the fall of 1988, but I’m still burning a lighter for it.To all the girls that wore those jackets, and could really hear this song and those like it, I love you forever. It’s hard to believe now, that at one time, a generation of girls listened to Heart and drew hearts on notes, inspired by the lyrics of Dreamboat Annie. You were, and are, wonderful. Music now, simple doesn’t hold a candle to the heyday of the real MTV, before it became a “reality,” show fraud.

    So much could be said about this song. So many parallels to humanity and the evil vs good struggle. Ozzy representing the devil offering sweet promises, Lita representing human innocence falling for the false promises. This song is probably the deepest and darkest and no one caught it. Now you know. Where are you on the struggle? Did you close your eyes?

      I was in a relationship that I thought would go on forever, turns out I was the 3rd wheel while her husband was out of town for a bit. She took the opportunity of having an affair while he was gone. I didn't know anything until long after. Everytime I hear this song, I think of her

      Keep in mind that the very first music video ever played on MTV was "Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles.
      If ya think about it, that song was pretty much MTV killing itself before it even began, by ironically cutting it's own main artery just to slowly bleed out and face it's own demise by starting it's music video debut with that song.

    Well Ozzy has closed his eyes forever. Just watched video about his passing. Though I didn't know Ozzy learned more personal info from short video of his passing I still felt like I lost a friend been a fan of his music since the 1980's that the end of the music has come it's a sadden thing. More people should put his image aside and listen to the words to his songs. War Pigs Black Sabbath a prophetic song as many other. War Pigs listen to the words as you look out your window at the world today. Well life goes on so will just say thank you Ozzy for the songs that you left. Well anyways
