My dad passed away last night, this is the song he loved the most and will be buried to. Please love and hug your people a little harder for me today because you never know when a loved one might be gone.
Very sorry for your loss. I lost mine a few years back but it still feels like yesterday. As someone who has been there I won't say it gets easier but eventually you start replacing the sad memories with the good ones. It's a process. Just a couple months ago I lost my father in law as well. He was like a 2nd dad. Just stay positive.
I know what you mean I lost my mom in my arms on 09/30/23 she passed away from her second stroke and damn she will be loved and missed forever. Take it easy and I'll be praying for you and your family take care and God bless you.
Met my only when I was 16, he'd just turned 18. Married him when I turned 18. We celebrated 34 yrs of marriage this year (2016). He's got MS, had a stroke last year. He was my only the 1st time I met him, he's still my only, he'll always be my only. The years have held sorrow, but much more happiness. We share our life and love with our 30 year old son, his wife, and 2 grandbabies. "What You Give" reminds me of what I've received. And I'm damn thankful for it all.
Jacee K sounds like me and my husband, met when I was 13 he was almost 16! Still together just celebrated our 24 yrs anniversary together. Got married in 1999 but we still celebrate both anniversaries! I love him more than life and wouldn't take NOTHING for him!!!
Nikki Davis, Thank you. My husband and I celebrate the anniversary we officially became a couple And our wedding anniversary. My mother thinks I'm nuts. But you Story is a Bit like ours. Only he was 14 and I was 21 so of course I wouldn't even think of him like that. Then when he was 22 we got together. Still together 10 years later and he is my all! Neither one of us expected it, in fact his proposal was Such a surprise because I had 2 divorces under my belt and he wasn't "the marrying kind" just goes to show, Anything is possible (btw my first marriage was when I was 17, I started Way too young!)

This makes me tear up. Not only because it's a great ballad but because these bands and these songs are gone and they're not coming back. Oh but what a hell of a ride it was my friends.
Really I got a bit choked up too. I remember listening to this song when I was in the hospital for a bone infection in my right foot and I snuck out onto the helicopter pad to smoke a cigarette listening to Tesla on my cassette tape.
Just turned 46. Can't express how much this song means to me. Got to watch this music get buried and watch grunge take over. Still remember sitting with my friends chilling listening to this and more. I miss it so much kids today don't have a clue. It's all we had to do was buy cds and hang out. No smartphones, no internet, no worries just a fun concert and a weekend with great memories.
This song is so honest, I am filled with love just listening to the words. When you love in this way, all things are possible. Trust in your heart. Trust in your feelings. Love heals absolutely. Not just those in love, but all those who witness it. The Power of love is simply this. All healing for all people. Thank you Tesla. I feel your music.
I love this song. Best of memories hearing my Mom rock out to it when I was growing up. I was born in 1987 and I recently told my Mom that 80s music has to be the best by far. So much meaning ♥️
My wife and I are both grew up in the 80's. We both simultaneously went through long and heavy trials and afterwards found each other. We danced to this song at our wedding reception. She's God's greatest gift to me!
I was born in 1962 and turned 62 July 2024.ear buds in blasting that music and locked the world outside. The 80'S and 90's were the best many great memories. Back when things made sense. Still here August 2024!!!!
some of them did. Tesla is one of them. Even if someone doesn't like genre; they have to recognize the talent in the bands who had it. I've noticed they have stuck around. (recently hearing this on a classic rock station brought me here)
+Kevin: I'm not gonna argue with you on this one because Tesla Rocks!! But, I like many others wouldn't consider Tesla a hair band. Just a great band!! :)))
Yeah, downgrading materialism, status and bling in the line "it's not what you got", and simultaneously lifting up and giving credence to the notion of giving, All In a person rock song... Along with the rest...Not bad at all.

I'm 35 and this song is on my everyday playlist. It never gets old. Takes me back to much simpler times but the words also hit me to the core of my soul.
80’s music was/is horrid, too much synthesizer. And many hard rock bands used that tinny, awful drum sound. But not these guys. They are legit. As was Metallica.
Saw recent live version in July 2023 and honestly, Tesla is one of the best bands I have ever seen live. Vastly underrated band and deserve to be in RRHOF. Saw them at the Odeon in Cleveland in the 90’s and one of best shows ever! Keep rockin gents!
Fuck em. Tesla is a class above all those pretentious Rolling Stone Magazine 'intellectual' ass clowns. They mean the world to those of us who can hear.
hi m 22. i enjoy reading comments here..people growing old with these songs.. thats awesome and this is such an amazing song. i get goosebumps just listening to his voice
Klyn Bhuyn I love hearing about the younger generation who their parents raise them right . I don't mean to be judgemental but people who appreciate older music generally are more respectful, and I'm sorry just decent human beings. God bless you, glad you have great musical taste. By the way I've seen Tesla live numerous times and they absolutely freaking Rock, cool guys, great human beings, and put on one hell of a show
Klyn Bhuyn dude, you ROCK, I've seen your comments on some of these other videos that I love man I love seeing younger people who appreciate real music you're awesome dude, your parents raised you the right way
Love this band. My husband passed December 23rd he’d listen to me singing it all the time. I’m going to Pens Peak for the concert it’s the day after my 50th birthday. Thanks for the great music
This song brings me back to such a wonderful time to n my life. A time of freedom, of lifelong memories and in a way a time of innocence. Our music in this era was GOLDEN and will never matched again 🙌
Yep, me too. And here I am at age 34, and while I've felt that special kinda love toward 2, maybe 3 gals in my life, I've literally never had a woman tell me she loves me that way. Of course I am grateful for and genuinely appreciate my mother's love as well as the love of other female family and, well, I don't know that I have any lady friends that even love me as a friend, but anyways, as great as that love is, when you don't have that special kind of love, and when you have gone years without ANY sort of intimacy with a woman, not even cuddling, and yiu go completely without that magical feeling of excitement and burning arousal within your heart and soul and body as a whole which only the physical touch and affection of a woman can bring to a man, well, as I said, you realize how important that special kind of love is....
Just saw these guys in concert on Friday . I was absolutely blown away how great they sounded. They said it was 37 years since they been to that venue. It was like traveling back in time to the 80s. Great song, great band.
I remember getting this cassette for Christmas one year. 'Santa clause' always wrapped our gifts like he was in a huge hurry & I remember this tape being wrapped with one piece of wrapping paper going around it long ways so all I had to do was pick it up & I could clearly see the side 'label' (that wasn't even a little bit covered) & I knew what that gift was 😅 Bless my Mom for trying. Now those "dingbat" moments are some of my favorite memories to look back on and laugh at cause not only can I relate, but because my Mom was always the one laughing the hardest at herself 🥰😅 Good times.
One of my late husband and my favorite songs. So many memories, hearing you play this on your guitar and me singing, to riding the country side on the Fatboy jammin as we are thunder on the highway. Hope you hear me playing and singing this song. This song speaks the truth, we gave it our all and was blessed with 26 years of marriage. No one can feel this void. Cant wait to be with you my Love. Forever and Always
+Natachia Williams I know I can never understand your pain so I hope this helps. A very wise person, my Mom, said to me one time "no one ever dies as long as someone remembers them, they just aren't as close as we would like them just now". My loss was a friend, more like a brother, to an OD, who I still miss to this day. Whenever you hear this cut you will remember him and he will be right next to you. Then, when we all go to the other side we can be with them again and complete. Peace to you and yours my sister.
One thing about this band. As much of themselves as they put into the performance of every song, it's hard not to imagine them collapsing after the show. They were definitely one of those bands that left it all on stage.
Used to listen to this on the way to baseball games, practices, tournaments everything and my Dad always said you'll understand this song when you're older.
I'm here at 9:00pm on March 28, 2020. The month of the corona virus and I'm in lock down here in Michigan until April 13th and I'm here because I love Tesla.
im still here and the 80s are still the best and everybody that commented on my post you are still my friends and we will be friends forever .80s forever .
The lyrics to "What You Give" were actually about the unconditional love he had for a dog he grew up with that had to be put down due to old age. This was his way of grieving. Losing anyone, 2 or 4 legged, is hard, and these works seem to help the process.
April 1st my little dog April turned 15 years old. She is 15 year old and 2 months now. She has a condition called Cushing's disease which is a form of cancer. She is losing her appetite so my daughter is taking her to the vet tomorrow. We share a strong strong bond!!! I pray the vet will help her live a little longer and we will have more time together and I won't have to grieve anytime soon!!! What a song! Enough said!
unchaind88 I listen to this so and it is about the best friend I have ever had and Bella is her name and I feel the same way about her. I didn't have to be told that it was about his dog ,I had a feeling that that was what this song was about. Great Great song. Love Tesla
Tesla wasn't a hair band. They were a great continuation of the Spirit of the Seventies which was the best music in History. I just saw them for the second time in Nashville on February 19. Most of their songs are uplifting and speak to what's really important in a life. God bless Tesla. They are still giving joy to the World and that's a great thing.
Woke up this morning with this playing in my head. Guess I need some good, good love? Haha, good morning my fellow Tubers. It's 09/16/24 and if you're here to listen to this gem You're a legend. Stay safe out there brother and sisters. And keep on rocking. We can't let these classics be forgotten.
I was born in 84. I remember all these awesome songs. I remember when Brett Michaels did a charity for juveniles with diabetes. Cause he came out less then a year about being one. Other people were saying he was shooting up. Love all Bon Jovi songs congrats to them for being inducted to the Hall of Fame.

I'm with you there. These guys have always been the best and still putting it out great music. You can actually put on any album of these guys new or old and listen to it all the way through if not over and over.
I'm a music fan in general, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compares to 80s rock. Hell, nothing compares to the 80s in general. It was a much simpler time. nobody got offended by something somebody said, and everyone agreed on one thing: there was nothing greater than our music and our decade. Sure do miss those days. Anybody got a delorian for sale?
I bet more people listening to this over the grunge movement, don't get me wrong Seattle put out some great artist,,but I rarely listen to them I'm always listening to an old 80 jam ,,but again I'm not knocking 90s rock,I was teenager in early 90....like, 91 ,,and I love all music just my thoughts noone attack me but love hear your thoughts

I'm 58 years old and I start my day with all tesla music first thing in the morning. I've been dying to see them in concert
@tessa3955 - You need to do it, even if alone. Don't worry. You'll be amongst friends.
Saw them soundcheck before they performed in our town, RIDICULOUS TALENT!!!
Me too. We are the same age
Saw them at a Harley Dealership. Badass group
I have it's was great
Aint nothing like no TESLA❤❤❤❤❤ OUT OF MY HEAD AND MIND❤❤❤ I would be fire, water, and oil❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@thematrix6137 true that...
Me too
Thank you. 🙌🏼✊
💯
Got a lot to give
I've learned I really need to start setting limits , takers have none even when it comes to love .
Literally one of the best songs ever written.
Well, since they have the best song ever, Love Song, they got a good repertoire...
Real talent, real music. Salt palace late 80s w def leopard. Rock on!
agreed

It's about his dog ❤
Nothing can tear apart my soul quite like this song. From start to end its tears.
I love this song. Best of memories hearing my Mom rock out to it when I was growing up. I was born in 1987 and I recently told my Mom that 80s music has to be the best by far. So much meaning ♥️
Your mom has great taste in music !
Same here! I was born in 88 ! Grew up listening with my dad . I’m taking him to a Tesla concert this July , can’t wait !
@@katelynlajune9907 oh my goodness that’s a great idea, thank you for sharing! I definitely need to take my Mom to a concert!!
Hello how are you doing today?
@@franceliakarle_1 pretty good Karlee how are you?
My wife and I are both grew up in the 80's. We both simultaneously went through long and heavy trials and afterwards found each other. We danced to this song at our wedding reception. She's God's greatest gift to me!
Tomorrow Forever Great Tune☝️👌✌️
Soulful... passionate... and emotionally deep.
Yes very true
I was born in 1962 and turned 62 July 2024.ear buds in blasting that music and locked the world outside. The 80'S and 90's were the best many great memories. Back when things made sense. Still here August 2024!!!!
One of my favorite acoustic guitar openings for any rock song from any decade.
+thepayne78: You better believe it. Unforgettable and oh so memorable!!! Love that riff, it's so identifiable...
Oh most definitely I never get that riff confused with any other guitar riff.
little suzi, and this one...
True, I love ' Little Suzi. '
Simple but extremely meaningful
One of the greatest fucking bands ever! I wished today's music sounded as good as 80's rock! The 80's, best damn decade ever!
I saw em when I was 17. 36 now and remember when I was 10 jamming to em
I've seen them 3 times with Def Leppard and and they are amazing! Love Song baby 🎵🎸👍
Its not what you've got Its what you give
Saw them last year. One of my favorites. He still loves to sing. It shows in his performance.
Truth!
Say what you want, but the 80's Hair Bands put out some of the best music in history. Could listen to this over and over.
That is true! Right from the heart
some of them did. Tesla is one of them. Even if someone doesn't like genre; they have to recognize the talent in the bands who had it. I've noticed they have stuck around. (recently hearing this on a classic rock station brought me here)
couldn't agree better
+Kevin: I'm not gonna argue with you on this one because Tesla Rocks!! But, I like many others wouldn't consider Tesla a hair band. Just a great band!! :)))
Agree 100% I'd class them as Hard Rock.
One of the greatest bands of all time
This is one of the best songs ever. The words are perfect.
rock out with a real true band sound the same as the radio and like in the 80s i love Tesla
But hey, 2 out of 3 ain't bad, fear not my spiritual reach.
Yeah, downgrading materialism, status and bling in the line "it's not what you got", and simultaneously lifting up and giving credence to the notion of giving, All In a person rock song... Along with the rest...Not bad at all.
One of my favorites
I agree 100%
I just gotta say, he feels every single word and puts his whole being in to his performances. I could watch him for days.

And 60s 70s the best bands
I'm 62 And Rocking The Fuck Out Everyday
The 90s to me were the best but this is second! 56 here
80’s music was/is horrid, too much synthesizer. And many hard rock bands used that tinny, awful drum sound. But not these guys. They are legit. As was Metallica.
Most underrated 80s band of all time. Period.
Damn right modern day cowboy
Hello how are you doing today?
Saw recent live version in July 2023 and honestly, Tesla is one of the best bands I have ever seen live. Vastly underrated band and deserve to be in RRHOF. Saw them at the Odeon in Cleveland in the 90’s and one of best shows ever! Keep rockin gents!
Fuck em. Tesla is a class above all those pretentious Rolling Stone Magazine 'intellectual' ass clowns. They mean the world to those of us who can hear.
This song never ceases, to bring tears to my eyes!
Anyone who has ever loved a pet can understand , its about his dog. Such a great tribute!
@CidersAndReligiousCrusadesit is about his dog.
@CidersAndReligiousCrusadesit’s the truth. He had to euthanize his beloved dog and this song is a tribute to his dog. ❤️

Fantastic song
“Everybody needs a special kind of love” 💗 the way those words hit me.
Who’s still rocking in 2024!?
Me ✋️, one of my faves, those high school days 👍🏽✌🏾😎
Me too, jamming like the pros. Rock on my friends 🧡
Tesla rocks hard!
I’ll be here until 2067! Hopefully longer
Hell yeah, just saw them live!
Just saw these guys in concert on Friday . I was absolutely blown away how great they sounded. They said it was 37 years since they been to that venue. It was like traveling back in time to the 80s. Great song, great band.
what a beautiful song
What a song...what a band. Tesla deserved so much more credit. Their music was and is outstanding
Hello how are you doing?
I remember getting this cassette for Christmas one year. 'Santa clause' always wrapped our gifts like he was in a huge hurry & I remember this tape being wrapped with one piece of wrapping paper going around it long ways so all I had to do was pick it up & I could clearly see the side 'label' (that wasn't even a little bit covered) & I knew what that gift was 😅
Bless my Mom for trying.
Love you so much I lose track of time!!!
Natachia Williams sorry for your loss. God's blessings upon you...
GOD Bless... Sorry...
Very touching. You will find him Again:)
Amen to your Dad!
Father knows best.

The lyrics to "What You Give" were actually about the unconditional love he had for a dog he grew up with that had to be put down due to old age. This was his way of grieving. Losing anyone, 2 or 4 legged, is hard, and these works seem to help the process.
unchaind88 yes sir...u are right...not Alot of people know that...impressed!
Unless you have loved an animal, you cannot understand the grief and pain of losing one.
Love Tesla
Yes. This song gets me every time. 6 years my Deuce is gone home and I miss that dog every day still.

Amazing song. What's even better is this song is about Jeff Keith's loss of his pet dog...which meant so much he wrote this awesome tune in memorium.
Hell yes.
These guys have got to be my favorite band. Back in the late 80s and even now.
I love Tesla so much! Back in 1995 their Bust A Nut album was the soundtrack of my life. I wore that tape out! (Yes, tape. Because I am that old.)
This makes me cry. I want to go back to 1991 and just stay there
I'm a music fan in general, but ABSOLUTELY NOTHING compares to 80s rock. Hell, nothing compares to the 80s in general. It was a much simpler time. nobody got offended by something somebody said, and everyone agreed on one thing: there was nothing greater than our music and our decade. Sure do miss those days.
