The 2003-2005 years of Toyota 4Runner have high and low-beam reflector headlights. In this video, Chris replaces the stock halogen bulbs with LED headlight bulbs from GTR Lighting for 200% brighter headlights.

Note: These low beam bulbs work in the 03-05 4Runner; from 06-09 the low beam was switched to a projector style low beam housings and for those years you'll need a different bulb. If you have a 2003 - 2005 4Runner, this guide works for you!

We recommend HID bulbs for 06-09 model year 4Runner low beams.
On the contrary, these high-beam LED bulbs will work with all 2003 - 2009 4Runners.

The video is not intended to imply vehicle-specific street legality. LED and HID bulbs are street legal in the USA for fog light use and not in low beam or high beam headlights because they are not compliant with DOT / FMVSS108. When looking for on-road-use headlight upgrades we recommend DOT-compliant headlight housings, not bulb replacements. Certain specialty vehicles strictly limited to off-street use and not having DOT registration or license plates may use these products exclusively off-streets. At over $200 for two bulbs and over $450 to do both front headlights can't you recommend anything more affordable?

Have you guys done a video for a 2006-2009 4Runner with the projector lights? Glad to see 4th gen 4runner videos, but not applicable for my projector-fitted 2007.

You gotta pay to play! we tested dozens of bulbs and most of them don't work on the 4Runner headlight. Of all the ones that do, the bulbs we recommended in this video performed the best. Sure maybe something else could work too, but these work better. Thanks for your comment YoungTooShort!

Lasfit works great on my 04 4runner low beam, high beam and fog lights. They are way cheaper than these bulbs and very bright at 6000K. Lights up white markers on the roads and road signs glow from a distance. You'll think you have high beam on, but only low beam.

Your website says 2003-2005 low beam and 4th Gen 2003-2009 high beam. Are these low beam truly 2003-2005? I would suspect they would fit all 4th Gen 2003-2009? Thanks.

The Low beam changed from a 9006 in 2005 to an H11 in 2006+, this is why the kit only goes up to 2005.
The high beam remained the same. :) Great question!

You don’t really need high beams when u got led cuz it already shines a lot

Should I leave halogen as low beams and just change out the highs for LEDs? Extra light when needed.

These dudes should be shut down for trying to pass off these "upgrade" bulbs as legal for on road use in compliance with road guide lines.
Tons of glare and no real pattern means dazzling other drivers especially those with vision problems.
Besides LED bulbs just get washed out in the slightest of bad weather and give you a slight blue tint on the road which makes your vision worse.
I guess you don't need automotive knowledge to start a company selling illegal bulbs for halogen units.

+Jonathan A Projectors give you any option you want for bulbs so at least you have HIDs in the proper housing.

+Kenny Mcc Fishing unfortunately I've spent money on "top of the line" led bulbs but they're all a waste. Don't try and feed anybody the nonsense these guys are trying to on their channel. LEDS AND HIDS don't belong in reflector housings. Period.
