I once delivered furniture to some rich dude on the bridle path in Toronto. Guy had it all, the movie room he never used, the bowling alley he never bowled in, and the fifteen bedrooms he never used. It was just him, his wife, his kid, the maids, and the nanny. I remember he told me it was about six people in total. Little Jewish guy who told me he was in banking, yeah. Nice guy, just enjoying my pleasure in seeing his toys, then getting the ^ out. The next place we delivered to, was this tinny cat lady's apartment. Yep

As I have gotten older I desire less and less space to a point, so I couldn't see myself even if I had the money living in a place like those. I don't even think if I had other families living with me it would still be too big.
I honestly don’t know what I’d do with any home over 10K sqft. I’m like Tim Allen, as I get older I want less (to an extent) but what could one family do with such a place. I can understand corporations buying it for their executives and corporate parties, but a single family?

@@kc696969 Yes I can't afford it, but if I could I still wouldn't buy it. My priorities changed to quality not quantity, because I'm 61 and have no need for that much square footage. My perfect place was a penthouse on Orange Beach a three bed three & 1/2 bath at 3800 square feet tastefully pre furnished with 2 outdoor pools & 1 indoor pool, sauna, gym, restaurant, 2 parking spots in a parking deck & direct access to the beach.

In a super big mansion with 30 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, 5 pools and multiple dining rooms you can even have 5 girlfriends living there without ever getting caught.
lol nice joke. honestly, I believe any smart rich person would never get married nor be tied down to one girl with all that money because women become too much trouble. If I were that rich, would just basically be having flings with women, but would never marry nor settle down in a serious relationship because if divorce happens, the girl/woman can steal nearly half or all of your wealth and property.

I used to live in a mansion here in Karaka New Zealand,, it was just me in it... it was so big i never actually went in all the rooms,, but it was cold and lonely,, i ended up using one room,, for my bedroom and lounge, as it has a bathroom next door,, and sometimes at night ghosts would freak me out.. i left and never went back

I think these Mega mansions are beautiful but a time like this with inflation on a rapid record breaking rise, who wants to spend half a billion on a house?! 🧐 These cribs are designed for people with supreme power and it took the one 10 years to finish and sold still with unfinished work. Niles’s was in a big hole with $190 million in debt and defaulted loans on this property..Niles borrowed tens of millions of dollars for the construction from other investors who didn’t want to invest no more money because they knew Niles’s was from a different planet 😂 The One still needs about $20 million to finish construction and that could take more than a few months, that’s why the price dropped dramatically!!!!🤦🏽♂️ This is a major disappointment for the mega mansions developer! Now Niles must repay all these loans after he promised a $500 million buy for this mansion..that’s a $340 million loss, he pissed off a lot of investors!! They say be careful what you wish for..taxes and the mortgage..sheeshh that’s another story!
If the initial listing price was $500 million and the final selling price was $126 million, would that not be a 74.8% discount? ($500 -126 = 374/500 = 74.8%)

I am 71 years old and I have been living for the last 30 years in a 950 square feet condominium, which is plenty of space for me. These mega mansions are so big a person could get lost in them and an owner might never go in all the rooms.

That number 10 Ranch is tiny. Compared to farms in Australia and New Zealand, it is small.
The irony is, you can only look out of one window at at time, sit on one chair at a time, stand in front of one sink at time, etc., etc. Massive excess in a world where children are starving. I think there is no home in the world that can match the magnitude of this private residence.

Considering the Biltmore (178,926 sqft) is valued at $344m with over 2,000 acres of property and an annual income of over $50,000,000 I would say. Yes all of these homes are way overpriced.

@@crazyweb9605 Exactly, a lot of celebrities go broke or are extremely overworked because they are paying A LOT of money to upkeep the mansions. Imo it's not worth paying millions annually to pay for something so big? I totally understand investing into land/property but it's another thing actually living in it and spending on bills.
