Thank you very much for this video.. I am so glad i have found you.. I was getting a problem how to put the second part. The instruction of this type is not same as the intrusion that Ikea sends in the packing... So you are the only one that explain how to put the secure the quarter without twist it al completely… So again, many thanks for sharing this with us.
It took me hours to assemble a two drawer Nordli chest with the help of my 14 year old daughter and just a Philips screwdriver. Your video really helped us as first time builders.
The manual insists that the top drawer is inserted first, then middle, then bottom. This is very difficult to do because the drawers must be tipped slightly to connect them to the hooks at the back. You started with the bottom drawer. Is there any reason why I can't do that too? Why do you think the instructions insist we start with the top drawer?
My drawer is assembled but the drawers are uneven and I don’t see any way of adjusting them. Is there a way of adjusting the hinges up or down so they are even? Maybe you can do a video on how to adjust them because I can’t find any on RUclips.
Can you tell me the exact depth from the front of a drawer face to the back wall? I want to know if I could use these drawers and rails in a different cabinet.
Any tips on how to get the drawers in and level once the top is on? I can’t see down into the unit to line up the hooks and I’m having an impossible time getting these in without them looking all crooked!
There is small wheel under the drawer in the rail. You can adjust height of the drawers slightly there. There is new video on NORDLI drawers coming soon. Will explane everything there.
Thanks for the video. I wish it was as easy as you made it look though. Took me 3 hrs to do a 3 drawer chest - 2 hours to build and 1 hour to get the drawers in! So awkward
Yes, drawers are one of the time-consuming items and this one is not the easiest one to build. The 3drawer chest is around 30-40min but well done for finishing the challenge. There is many customers I visit who don't have patience and time to fight with flat pack assembly like you. So well done and thank you for watching.
I couldn’t understand how you are putting drawers it was problem for me when I put white plastic in hole then the metal didn’t not reach in hole so I put scroll drive to bended to sit in hole it wasn’t easy and also unqualified hardboard and plastic white stuff you have to really carefully !!!! But finally we made to good. Job but I don’t know how long will stay in room max 2 or 3 year
Do all the products in the Nordli line have a back that is the same as the top? I do not want products where the back is that card board, so I assume this is my best option!
I have ordered 7 of these units, i am looking to replace the drawer fronts with custom reclaimed wood fronts I am making. Can you tell me the exact dimensions of the drawer fronts for both this unit and the bedside table? i can somewhat guess by dividing the overall dimension but it would be better to be sure they are the correct size.
I built yesterday the same nordli 6 drawers and now it’s another system to lock the drawers , You just need to push forward and it’s locked ! But it’s hard to unlocked ! And it was hard too to assembly because very heavy ! And the assembly instructions not very clear all the Time
Hi! I’ve assembled the drawers but still have the C1 bags of fasteners leftover. What are the purpose of those connectors? Are they used to attach the chests together?
You will get extra screws and other leftovers. Ikea include screws for all other options so don't worry about extra screws. BTW there is new video with more details on Ikea NORDLI Drawers coming soon will explain there all regarding extra screws and leftovers. Thank you for watching.
Great job man! You did it all by yourself alon! We( husband, wife and son) altogether just did it and fixed the clamps in wrong directions. Lol Husband just unscrewed the clamps and fixed it again. I wish i could have watched your video before starting mine. I have a problem and that is the gap between each drawer. Some drawers are wide open while the other are fine. I don't know why it happened even the small micke study desk drawer has the same issue while we fixed every screw in the designated place by ikea. We cant do anything apart from ikea given slots.
My drawers aren’t aligned and flush compared to yours .. I have the 12drawers version.. I did everything exactly like it’s mentioned on the manual but it doesn’t look very good.. do you have an idea on how to fix it?
Not sure if you still need help since your post was 4 months ago. I had the same issue and was super frustrated until I noticed a tiny screw where the plastic locks are. You need a tiny screw driver and you can adjust the drawer fronts up and down if the drawers look misaligned. Stupid design if you ask me.
@@PHANTASTIKMUSIK - THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Just put mine together today! Everything was great - except one drawer was so off! But then I remembered you wrote something here on this video! So you made my night! Again thank you. It's perfect now.
I tried to assemble the bottom part of this drawer but it ended up all crooked. The drawers are misaligned... Also, mine looks different from the one shown on the video, it has shorter drawers and two piece back panel per each half. I’m thinking they sent me the wrong one 🤔
Which one would you recommend between this one and the MALM one? There’s not enough reviews for the NORDLI online :( and I’m ttrying to buy a 8 drawer chest.
I like NORDLI better even is more expensive than MALM. Final finishes better ( edges with nice hard finish) interior fittings better (soft closing drawers )more flexible regarding how you like them to set up. And the possibility to split the drawer into 2 freestanding pieces if you get fed up with one big drawer. Only the price but if you looking for better quality NORDLI is the one. If is it just for rented accommodation or temporary furniture MALM is more than enough. All that said more people buy MALM but I think because of the price. Hope that help :)
PP FlatPack what do you mean if it’s for rented accommodation? Because it is but i do like this one too :) if u mean that because it’s heavier then there’s no problem. Thank you so much for answering!
Rented accommodation I meant if you renting a room to someone else and know tenants will not look after furniture properly than is no point to get expensive furniture. Landlords usually buy cheaper stuff because they know it will get damaged. If is for you then buy what you really like I would go for NORDLI.
Wow. Even watching this I can't figure out what's going on with the drawer. I have a tall single drawer version and it won't go in at any angle. One side is clicked but the other won't line up at all. I also bought a Malm version and that took like 2 seconds to figure out... I might return this unit.
Just look up the height of the drawers you're looking at purchasing, then pull that height out using measuring tape and lock it in. You'll have a clear idea if the height meets your needs.
Margarita This was my exact question when I was building this one I think it suppose to be there for added stability and you can add different units on it if you need. If it bothering you to much just move it to the middle make 4new holes and it should be less visible. But if you adding two small units this is not an option it has to be at the front. This was regarding metal bar on the bottom unit. One on the top you not need to put it as there is already top panel securing the top but I put it for extra stability.
What would be even more helpful is the first to go through all of the different little parts and describe what they are meant to do and where they are meant to go before starting the assembly. As well as slow the video down instead of making a person have to stop and start it dozens of times. 🙂
In case others struggle with this as well: youtube settings (under the cog icon in the top corner) allow you to set videos at a slower (or faster) speed.
your video helped me a lot , Thanks.

Great video...very informative! The bottoms of the drawers seem very flimsy...no?
How do you use your own screws on this externally? Is there a way to do this to not use the existing ones
I think you answered it @3:30 but are they limited to that size?
Not sure the original screws are there for a reason. If you lost them always can get from ikea they often have spare parts

Two drawers took over 5 hours there is no way you can get the back of the runner catch hole without the top on, then you cannot screw the top on
Once the drawers go in they can't come out can they?
Yes they can come out just unlock 2plastic under drawer lift front up and slide drawer out
peed off trying to attach the drawers to the runners, i could throw this unit out the window!!
I wish they sold this in black
