There is only one way to find out if Xu Xin can beat Felix even now: an exhibition match! That would be great to watch!
we need to see that after olympics! has my upvote.
Felix has everything to lose to do that
If Xu Xin says so, it is so.
ok ok
It would be really amazing if Xu Xin would show Felix all of his knowledge. Maybe this is the key to penhold's survival.
He would never help a non chinese player, that is already a tough opponent to become even better
I'm sure he played with the real originator of XX style the late Jaques Secretin.XX wasn't a proper penholder. The very essence of the penhold style is sticking to the table something that XX with his long loopy strokes couldn't do .
@@antang6964 yeah XX is by no means a traditional penhold. Even wanghao is not. MaLin was.
@@anonymousentity5106 Exactly,Xu Xin had more in common with Secretin and Appelgren who were away from the table lefty loopers.
Such style is not viable with the plastic ball although his brother Alexis has a tendency to drift away from the table which is why he struggles these days.
@@vincenzoTTop99A few days ago, Xu Xin livestreamed the match between Fan Zhendong and Felix. At the end, Xu Xin said Felix needed to sign up for his club to improve
XU Xin must be Felix's coach! It will be a dream team!
If that happens
Or liu guoliang becomes his coach
Felix will become the next xu xin
Or the other pen holder who looks like
Wang liqin
Xu Xin>>>>>felix
@@Stefan-k9pNot at the Olympics.
Xuxin evolving into a "analysis coach xuxin "
This is a good assessment. Some of which could be seen in Felix's match against Lin Yun Ju in the Olympic singles QF match. Was weaker against long serves to BH and jammed more often to the middle of table. Also spot on about Alexis - dangerous but also tends to let the game get away from him with rushed tactics and overplaying. Felix does have weaknesses but is surprisingly mature for his age and is able to adjust to his opponent's game and is generally able to fight through patchy play much more consistently compared to Alexis. That's why their ranking has diverged to date. Felix could definitely get more oomph out of his serve for sure as explained here. Third ball attack has been a mainstay of penhold close to the table play (ala Ma Lin - who was exceptional at serve-FH winning combos) though this has been dampened in recent times by aggressive returning on the 2nd ball.
Xu Xin actually provided Felix personal COACH free of charge.
love analysis like this from the one and only cloud walker
Finally some extreme pro who sees what I see also🙏🏼
Alexis is more dangerous then Felix, he is unpredictable and can do everything in match but he needs to learn to control emotions better, Alex is ❤️🔥.
Most people saw that way too , it's normal
Felix is hardly 18. TT atheltes improve seriously after 18 and reach peak between 22-25. Felix has like half a decade to reach next level
@@tomislavkatic4701 Alexis is super sluggish close to the table, his receive is all over the place and his bh block is non existent. He is good from mid distance but there are many Europeans who can match him like Moregard.
@@antang6964 you have to watch him training with his younger brother and you will not say again that Alexis doesnt know how to block close to table.
@@tomislavkatic4701 He can block his brother's shots because he is familiar with his timing, his tendencies, his spin etc.But against a player like Moregard who focuses on serve-receiving and close to the table game he is poor.
I also think his bh style is very improvisational, too long works only when he has time which is why he drifts away from the table all the time.
All in all,he reminds me of J.M Saive when he lost his sharpness and became an away from the table looper. He is physically strong and his forehand is not crooked unlike 90 percent of players these days but his positioning is not efficient.
Felix is still pretty young, he’s prone to have a lot of mistakes but that also means he has a lot of time to fix them and improve.
Alexis says that Félix likes to focus on training a bit more than him when Alexis likes diversity in exercises.
Interesting opinion from Xu Xin.
What happened with the voice...the original video it is a public video? Xu Xin can beat anyone in the tour rigth now.
Very interesting. Also what he said about Alex.
After felix vs fzd on the olympics i went back to this video. I think they really studied felix to get those lopsided results
Well after Felix watches this video he will be able to adjust. Now the secret is out. Everybody knows. Lol 🤣
Felix si tu vois ça, commence à te préparer ;)
On ne brèche pas la Grande Muraille de Chine.
Who's here after FZD beat Felix to make it to the Olympic Final using the same tactics?
Wow, his comments on Felix being a backhand-dominant player even though he plays penhold... I wish i could say the same, haha. 😅
Cloud Walker to cloud talker🤣
Curious with Xuperman opinion about Dang Qiu
Xu Xin beat Ma Lin to succeed him. I wonder if Felix Lebrun (or even Dang Qiu) can beat Xu Xin to succeed him!
france pay this man!
Who's the other guy in the video?
If he thinks he can beat him, let's see it! I don't doubt it, but I want him to prove it. I'd love to watch a game between the two of them.
easy for xu xin.
He made good points and he is correct about the younger brother being mentally match tougher though calling Alex unstable is sort of stupid. He's in the top 50 dude - he can't be that unstable. Maybe against top 10, his mental toughness fails him but calling unstable really - get out of here.
@@CraigJames-j4oi think unstable here has nuance that sometimes alexis is able to play 100% but other times because he lets the looses get to his head his performance drops to way below what he is capable of.
Besides XuXin is former top1(for very long time as well) and he has faced many other top 10 players. If alexis is looking to win the main big tournaments he will need to be mentally much tougher since he wont just be facing top 20-50 but top 1-10 players.
Reminds me of ma long's coach comment about ma long's mental before 2013-14 era.
Unstable is just a bad translation. In English the colloquial understanding has connotations that he's crazy or a nut job, but the meaning here is more lack of maintained fortitude.
@@CraigJames-j4o at that level it’s all about margins, I suppose everyone knows that what he means by that is « more » emotionally/mentally unstable. It takes a lot of mental fortitude to get to the top 50, even more for 20.
It is a fait comment in its context imo
感觉许昕是想到什么说什么的,意思表达的不成体系,上海话说法是七里传到八里
嗯,这非常许昕。
It's all fun and games until he actually faces him at the table. Big Xu Xin fan here, but it might not be so easy to use those weaknesses in an actual game
I like XuXin and he is my favorite player but Felix soon will be No 1 in the world! weather Xu would like him or denying! And with so many wrong and mistakes in Felix lebrun Penhold style how he always can reach semi and finals in his competitions and defeats many powerful opponents!
Xuxin es superior
Me wondering why there are captions until i realize im chinese
When mohamed ali say somthing pepole heard ; it shoud be the same with xu xin ! XU XIN is really arrogant i see it in adam's video but i know something :" HE LEARN THE RIGHT TO BE ARROGANTE BECAUSE HE IS THE BEST "
Xu Xin is already in history. His best time is already in the past. He won't win Lebrun because he plays too far from the table. It requires excellent agility and physical conditions . Xu Xin loses to young Chinese players who play close to the table. His game is spectacular but unfortunately not effective. I miss that time when Xu Xin, Ma Long, Jang Jike were on top.
both Lerun can't even return his side spin. why he need to play close to table, also samsonov ,close table who once win xx later lost to xx all.
@@s.m.5343 Samsonov was 45 years old , Xu Xin was 31. Samsonov was 36th, Xu Xin was 3rd in the world ranking 2021. Felix is #5 and 18 years old. Where is Xu Xin now?
@@uleyzano6178 xuxin retired, he is still better than 99% of the players in the world, that could also include felix if xu xin played now he would break top 10 easily lmao
@@faker3033 So, why he has retired if he is still that powerful? 🫤
@@uleyzano6178 because he is old and they let the younger generation take over, if not he could play forever like timo boll
Not so easy, he is actually bronze in the olympic games.
The secret is to study your opponent, identify his weakness and attack them, and to also prepare for their strengths to counter them.
All TT athletes are really close and thrcein could go either way, but it is the strategist who has the advantage.
Well Felix is in the Semis so he's doing just fine and China might not get gold.
he talk too much... he wont even stand a chance against felix lebrun...
Xu Xin is one of the top 5 penholders in history, and one of the best looters in the history of the game. The public should appreciate what he says
huh?
1. only people better than him can talk about his game? So that makes only 4 people in the world?
2. Xu Xin is known for his lethal forehand, for penholders to be successful they need to have a strong forehand, just look at all the legendary penholders, Ma Lin, Liu GuoLiang, Xu Xin, Wang Hao.
3. How does anyone get better if they cant open themselves to knowing their weakness?
this is a pretty poor take... he's one of the best penholders of the past generation
I think Xu Xin actually has a decent chance against Felix even in his retired state. Felix is good at fast rallies but struggle with heavy spin and far-from-table top spin rallies which is Xu Xin's expertise. Also, Felix tends to win points by lobbing down opponents but Xu Xin is an excellent lobber so he won't be able to use the same strategy.
