General guidline for beginning Qigong practice: inhale when the body expands or reaches, exhale when either compressing or relaxing. In Taiji Quan it's generally opposite because expanding movements are generally blocking/attacking.

Use diaphragmatic breathing.
What is your breathing method in this?
Just like any version of Qigong, I believe we need to execute those movements with diaphragmatic breathing.
