Have u ever seen Prince crawl across the stage on his stomach! Like super fast! He was was amazing to watch too! Seen him in 1995 at the Pantages in Hollywood 🥰🥰🥰
And James got most of his dance moves from JACKIE WILLSON ! Look it up on RUclips of some old footages of jackie wilson dancing before james brown came out. JB car jacked most of all of Jackie's moves. All of those dancing brothers did a little of everybody's stuff. Where Jackie got his moves from I not sure. But those last 3 James, Michael & Prince they were the dancing children of Jackie Wilson.
@@williewilliams5067whaaaat? JACKIE WILSON 🤣 You gotta be kidding. I have not seen Jackie doing drops, full splits, sliding on one leg, or even shuffling his feet fast 🤔
Well, yeah he did, that was Prince decision as a showman but the splits had very little to do with the shoes, the splits has everything to do with the crouch of one's flexibility of the body.
You completely forgot that Prince did 14 SPLITS in perfect coordination in 6 seconds on the Rave unto the Year 2000 live in concert DVD. He made it look absolutely LETHAL especially in heels and it should go down in the Guinness World book of records.
I know exactly what you mean and agree. Sadly, as much as I liked Prince doing the splits and wearing heels, I would much rather he was still here with us.
@@musiciansreveal I can see that. To me, PRINCE was an ATHLETE the way he choreographed some of those moves/splits, it may have taken a TOLL on his body.🤔

Wow. That is a great first concert. Cherish that. My first was Stevie Wonder and Gil Scott-Heron. Met James Brown and Wilson Pickett at their concert in 1983.
I hear ya, Bruh! I'm 65. I saw him in Little Rock, AR., 1969. The kicks, spins, splits, spin walking the mike stand....all under STROBE LIGHTS !!! The whole SHOW was like being on ANOTHER PLANET !!! LOLOL
Fred, that was a great sequence. I also love the splits and mic slide in several directions during Housequake at the New Years Eve show 1987 at Paisley Park.
It's been said that Prince (As a small child) was briefly tossed up on stage with JB while he was per4ming in Minneapolis, and that was IT; the rest was history.
@@musiciansreveal the only cats who could give him a run a little bit were Jackie Wilson, and a very young Michael Jackson and James brown was still moving scary
Perfect summation. If Prince didn't have to focus on writing, producing, singing, playing guitar, bass, drums and keys, he might have topped all these dancers. But I prefer the way Prince did it.
Other than the fact James Brown was a prolific and important songwriter, he completely revolutionized the way music is written to this day with essentially inventing "on the one". As much respect as I have for Prince he never wrote anything as revolutionary and influential as Papa's Got A Brand New Bag. Where music would be today without that one track is unthinkable. Now you could still argue Prince is more talented but to void James of his most important talent is not wise. I know Prince would be offended on your behalf.
Mr. Brown does not lose. Let’s see. JB is a dancer, singer, producer, arranger, bandleader, multi-instrumentalist, writer, and social activist. JB had 59 albums meanwhile prince has less than 40. JB danced at older age and when he was famous in the mid 60s he was in his 30s. Older than Prince with 25 years old, but danced a lot better. When Prince came to music scene he was only 20.
Prince wrote played sang and produced his songs. Then performed them live with all the dance moves and talent as Mr. Brown. Not very close. PrinceRIP 🤘
This comment section has singlehandedly put me off Prince's fanbase in a way I don't think I'll ever recover from. How does one be so confidently incorrect and myopic about your idol when comparing him to his idol? Even Michael Jackson's fanbase gives his influences respect and he's much more of his own performer than Prince is (no disrespect to Prince), what is this insecurity?
Prince was amazing. I never saw him miss on the splits. I did see him slip at Radio City Music Hall during a ballad set. But I think the stage was wet. As always, he played it off and probably most of audience never knew.
@@musiciansrevealHaving watched countless James Brown concerts I've literally never seen him slip during a split either. The only time he ever slipped (wasn't during a split) was on the Flip Wilson Show in 1970 where he fell back and turned it into a spinny break dance move that was wicked and entirely improvised.
One word DO U THINK IF LEGEND JAMES BROWN COULD DO SLITS N HIGH HEEL BOOTS ...I GIVE JAMES BROWN HIS SALUTE .. BUT PRINCE WAS THE FIRST 2 DO SLITS N HIGH HEEL BOOTS
No Prince was a little better than JB in dancing, when Michael Jackson was much younger, Mich could do the James Brown better than James Brown. But every body moved or stole moves from someone or from a mixture of other entertainers. Now who was better than them all was a man you wouldn't believe could dance & where James Brown stole a lot of his moves from. And that was JACKIE WILSON !!!! Go to RUclips, look at some old footages of Jackie Wilson dancing had more moves& could split better than most With the exception of Prince who could split better than most classical men ballet dancers. Go watch Jackie Wilson's old dance footage & see what you think.
I'm a huge fan of Jackie Wilson and James Brown, have watched their concerts endlessly. If you think James Brown was influenced by Jackie Wilson when it comes to his move set you are plainly mistaken, not only are they entirely different but James Brown started before Jackie did.
Couldn't disagree more. I have very rarely seen James Brown do the full splits seamlessly. That's why Prince's splits are so great, because he glides up after he goes down. JB had moves, but he was a lot more ants in the pants about it, and that was a turnoff. And yeah, the part in heels, and his were twice as high as JB.
All due respect I think u need to lookup more footage of James Brown before u say that . James Brown did it in heels too and platform shoes . along with mic drops and double splits u know what a double split is ?
The person you're listening to was James Brown's tour manager from 1961 to 1970 and Prince's tour manager from 1984 onwards, he had to be at every show for contractual reasons. I think he has an educated opinion on the matter. If you think that's silly keep in mind there's no footage of James Brown in the early 60s, there's plenty of Prince throughout his whole life but James Brown's prime as a performer was never captured on video.
PRINCE 4 SURE!!! Did James Brown jump off 6 ft risers do the splits all the while strapped with a GUITAR, then rise up grab the microphone and play the guitar while in heels ... NO!! Plus James Brown was a woman beater...jus vile!
One of my favorite moves was Prince running and sliding across stage up to the mic to sing on cue. Saw a great move like that from him at Radio City Music Hall.

Rhonda. So true. Sign of The Times during Housequake those moves are incredible. And he did them at his New Years Eve show when Miles Davis played.
