About Episode 123: Waking up at the border was as awkward as you might think, but that is one of the best things about RVing! Need to sleep? Pullover. We visited Haines for two reasons. We heard the bears and eagles were abundant, even more than most of Alaska and it gave us an opportunity to take the Marine Highway and ferry to Skagway Alaska. Considering all the miles we drove, we knew we were not up for an “out and back” and the ferry makes Tok to Haines to Skagway a more direct shot to the Cassiar Highway. Here’s a quick tip on the Marine Highway. Anything over 30’ you need to call. So don’t even waste your time trying to figure out their unacquainted website. All the staff from the phones to the crew are very helpful and polite.

We were at that exact spot in Haines back in August. Sadly we didn’t see cub city. But the eagles were awesome, as the were the views! This is the only RUclips show we watch as a family.

Speedy and her three cubs! I was there that same day and staying down from you at Hitch-Up. Loved Haines! It was a glorious weekend and one of our favorite places. Our wives did laundry together. Nice Videos.

I was so excited to see a new Video! I was on that same road going north from Haines. Thank you for all the beautiful footage! We had our 3/4 ton Ford flatbed with a Lincoln Welding Machine. Stored it in Fairbanks, then on a plane to Prudhoe Bay. 12 weeks of pipelining for Conoco. Then ended up living north of Soldotna in Nikiski. 4 years of beautiful Alaska! I remember our Ferry voyage on the Columbia out of Bellingham. Sorry for the story, just so excited to watch where we were. Long time ago. 28 years ago. Also, I don’t have cable so this is like my best Show! (Oh My Gosh! It’s the Colombia!) I am so glad your on that one we were! I had forgotten so much, no cell phones in 1990 to take lots of pictures. We had a 35mm Film. I can’t find those photos. Thank you SO much for sharing!

It really give's us insight into what you have to do in term's of searching for enough internet spd., then editing/downloading just ONE video! If I ever get to travel in my TT, (other than just random camping @ nearby St Lake's/Parks), I wouldn't even consider making video's for a youtube channel! Thanks. The channel really adds to our travel and overall we get more out of it, but it doesn't come easy. We work 60-80 per week, which many won't believe. For right now, KYD is an eat, sleep breath thing.

The border has an open/closed time. Who knew? No oranges died in the making of this video.
That is the same as the border between British Columbia and Washington State. There are I think 5 or 6 crossings and the 2 main ones closest to the coast are open 24/7 but there is one a bit inland just north of Lynden Washington that is closed from midnight to 8 a.m.
