- Been a few days since I’ve hit 10,000 subscribers, but I’m honestly shocked I’ve made it this far considering my channel has been under several copyright threats in the past and I’ve come out of it the better. Thanks to all who have stuck it out all the way and been there for all the content I’ve made and put out there to enjoy.
And this is made I made in preparation for this moment. Over 15 minutes of some of the best sounds in Motor Racing, the old NASCAR Gen-4 cars at Daytona and Talladega from races in the Cup and Busch Series from 2001 to 2007, in no particular order. Enjoy!

Doubt anyone will read this but I wanted to mention. I lived about 30 minutes as the crow flies from Matinsville speedway growing up. When they raced the cup cars there I could walk out in my parent's backyard and just barely make our the roar of these V8s. You wouldn't think the sound of 30 engines could carry that far but I assure you it does.

@@mariaampilova You're not wrong, but there's just a different feel about that angle, at Daytona's turns 3 and 4, with a full field at full song.

The CART V8s from the late 90s may be my favorite motorsport sounds ever.
These cars screamed down the long straightaways of Daytona and Talladega, the modern cars whine.

I saw one comment saying indycars should have v10s....nope.
Indycars don't scream they growl and wail. V10 is not exactly what you think of when you think indycar. Its not the signature sound.
The older cars screeched down the straightaways of Daytona and Talladega.

I like the howl these give off, the raspiness of the earlier cars, and the high redline (before 2018) of gen 6

The wide camera pan not only makes it look spectacular but also enhances the acoustics, it's amazing.
That panning shot on Daytona is incredible.

The way the cars harmonize on the bank turns is just a beautiful sound. Nascar needs to bring the X-Pipe back.

Am I the only who got teary eyed listening to the engines screaming inside the turn? Sadly we rarely get to watch NASCAR live here in Argentina, but I've been raised with this stuff. Long live to the crossplane V8.

This was when it was "Nascar Thunder". Just imagine leading the sound of thunder to the start/finish line. Wow!!
I’m surprised not too many comments mention the shot and sound at 5:10. That’s probably the best Crank it Up camera shot in NASCAR on FOX history.
The crank it up segment was actually how I became a Nascar fan in the first place. My dad had a race on TV (my guess is that it was the 04 Daytona 500) and he turned up the volume a little bit for crank it up I was mesmerized by it. I wasn't even a year old and couldn't even walk I was so young.

I miss this sound so much. Brings back good memories of the mid 2000s when I first got into NASCAR
I can actually make that noise because I have a gap in my two front teeth, and I'm never going to get them straightened! I miss this tone, and I wish they could bring it back, but they can't because they used carburetors and dual-exhaust pipes.

I wish I was around during this era of Nascar. I was born in '03 and didn't start watching until 2010.
This was the golden era of nascar.after changing to the cot and to fuel injection everything went south.

1998 to 2004 were the best sounding ones.
I'd say, '87 to 2000 were best.
And also 2005 , 2006 and 2007 where hendrick cars engine become insane

What made me fell in love with Stock Car Racing,was listen the cars come together.
God I’ll never forget that sound to this day. I grew up in Michigan not too far from MIS and I always knew when race weekend was here. You could hear the glorious sound of those boom tubes from miles away, I’ll never forget that rumble. Nowadays when I visit on race weekend you’re lucky to see the jets or helicopters overhead.

Honestly this is why I've always preferred Fox especially as a kid when they go silent for crank it up and just hearing the engines was always nice. For me I've always loved it when they do the turn camera where its in the infield pretty much. Always ALWAYS loved it when they did that, heck I wish they do the start/finish line camera more.

This was the best parts of every race
I know f1 and NASCAR fans tend to differ. But one thing I have noticed between the two fanbases is that if you were to ask which generation had the best noise for the cars, (depending on who you ask obviously) you'll most likely get answers that you heard during the 2000s and before (i.e for NASCAR, gen4 and before. and for F1, V8 and before.)
Back when it mattered! Miss these sounds! New NASCAR could learn alot from not so older NASCAR.

4:50 gen 4 is the sound of my childhood I love and miss that amazing sound that roared on the track gen 4 got me into nascar and they hold a very special place in my heart.

As a child during these years born in 99 I wish I could’ve attended more races. We normally went to NH races being from there.
Love the onboard bits. Reminds me of the le mans movie and really gives a sense of how fast and how risky it is.

Unless the Gen7 in 2021 sounds like this or is a bit similar on Superspeedways, you will never ever hear this sound again in NASCAR, and yes i am listening to this at like past midnight/close to 1am
Some of the Xfinity cars run X pipes on superspeedways.
All the trucks run x-pipes, same with ARCA cars
