Have you ever read any of these recs? What’s your favorite way to get out of a reading slump? I’d love to know! 😊

I saw a copy of Howl (and other poems) at my local used book store, and I ended up passing on it. Hopefully it's still there next time I visit because you've convinced me to read it!

I’m so happy to hear that! I passed on it for years until I had to read it for a class, and was blown away. I hope you love it! 😊

I'm surprised you talked about books that are so old)) I read "The Awakening" some 15-18 years ago, and "Affinity" about a decade, I suppose. Waters is great, although I'm proud to say I guessed where everything was going; she's a terrific writer, and I'd like to find the film this book has been made into, too.

I read Chopin’s short story “The Story of an Hour” in high school I think and really liked it! Adding The Awakening to my TBR now, thank you 🙏

If you liked Affinity, you’ll love Tipping the Velvet! And I’ve never heard of the first book, sounds cool.

Not all fantasy is set in “fairytale” worlds :) Plenty of fantasy stories have worlds very much like our own (or more grim), with varying degrees of magic or magical systems.
