Been looking for an easy way to transfer files to my phone. Thanks for this
The reason that some of those features do not work in windows is that the kde connect is ported from kde plasma desktop to windows and those features are not implemented yet and need time and effort to be implemented on windows. I am using this app on linux and it works great. on windows it is also great but I miss the right click and send to device option in windows 11.
I pretty much use One Drive to transfer files back and forth between my phone and computer. It's more steps than the app you're showing here, but it's good when you have multiple computers to send files to like I do.
i head sync is not possible from android side to the pc because of some inherent limitation in the newer android versions which is a feature, i have been trying clipshare but cant get it to work, I dont want to have to click send clipboard everytime i copy something on my phone i want it to be synced automatically but other than that aspect kde connect shines in all the other ones, i wish they add screen mirroring like scrcpy soon, Awesome video :)
I used to use Join ( from the maker of tasker) a long time ago. Stopped due to potential future security issues
Is there any way for clipboard to sync from android, such that I don't actually have to click on send clipboard to my computer?
So does it do just the basics of notifying you on the windows desktop when a call comes in ie if the mobile you left in the garden is ringing/has rung, and who is it. and the same for an incoming sms ?. You hit on media and file xfer which is why I ask as I would guess this is what most users basic needs would be.
Does this work with android to ios/ipad?
You can use copy to pc via a quick setting option
Logcat is broken in android 13 , everytime i need to click send clipboard
Phone Link works really well tbh, will automatically share clipboard between devices. Ironically probably the most useful feature of an otherwise pretty useless app.
I use it to mirror my notifications and sometimes the whole screen to my work computer so I can keep using it without looking like I'm slacking off ;)
Enjoy your Galaxy phone
@@leoblack8497 nope, surface duo.
It only works on Samsung phones though. 🥺
@@NiffirgkcaJ works great on my surface duo.
BRO CLIPBOARD OPTION IS NOT WORKING NOW?
x2
What's the case on your pixel fold on this video, where can I get it?
Dbrand leather skin. From dbrand.
It is better than the Windows Phone Link application that is native? I have a love/hate relationship with that app.
In some ways I prefer it. Phone Link has gotten to be so unstable it's barely usable at times.
@@bricequirl I have mostly Samsung devices. Does it work on Samsung?
@@bricequirl I installed Unison on PC and phone without any issues, my PC doesn't have Evo hardware. The only requirement was I wasn't able to install on 21h2, had to upgrade to 23h2. Disappointment came when I tried to use the app on PC, won't connect, I figured it's because my PC doesn't have bluetooth lol. Come on Intel, get a grip. Bluetooth is so 1999. I have both PC and phone connected to the same wireless network, should do the trick, instead of requiring Bluetooth.
@GordonMcCague from what I've seen Windows Phone Link is 1000 times better than the crappy KDE Connect, IF (and it's a big IF) you have a Samsung phone or any of the ones they list. Other phone brands don't get all the options on the PC app, which sucks.
KDE Connect doesn't have screen mirroring, Phone Link does. Also, Phone Link's interface is just so much better in everyway, more practical. There's no comparison.
A few too many I'm not sure or I don't know!
Works with Macs too. So change your title 😅
Can't break my streak of not talking about mac
@@scaryifliteral Fair enough
Lol no one uses Mac. Good luck playing games on Mac or Linux lol just won't happen. Linux has always been crap, Mac is a different kind of crap, while Windows is Godlike level.
Also on Linux what it was originally developed for (as part of the KDE plasma desktop)
Great app thanks for suggesting this.
When you want to control the playback of sound output from your phone via your Desktop PC using the Multimedia Controls feature within KDE Connect, is there a way where you can get the actual audio to directly play on the Desktop PC itself rather than the audio coming out from the phone?
I'm using an Android Phone and a Windows 10 Desktop PC
