Fraud Of The Century. How The French Built The Panama Canal

We have an unusual story today. We'll be talking about a huge scandal where hundreds of thousands of people lost their savings and it all occurred in Panama. More specifically, in the isthmus of Panama because when our story begins, there was no Panama yet. It's the place where the Atlantic and Pacific oceans are at their closest with just 65 km (~40 miles) between them.

Almost all of the video footage in this article shows the US construction, not the French. It does not show how little the French actually got done, and barely mentions that 80% of the French workers and engineers died during the French construction period.

My dad did dredging operations on the canal. He said that there was almost no work done by the French and that given the mountain range in middle, the French sea level canal was impossible at that time.

It is extremely important at this point, to now tell the truth in another documentary, about what the Americans did, how it was done, who benefitted & continues to benefit most. Like slavery, the question remains, who benefitted most.
