Hi Matt, thanks so much for the kind words! Yes, the project I used Largo on many years ago was Disney themed. I was just getting back into making music after a near 15 year absence and Sonokinetic really helped capture that instant feel and of course was inspiring for my work. The client was very happy and I was hooked on Sonokinetic libraries ever since. While I'm lucky enough to have reviewed some of the later ones, I bought every single one up until 80 came out. For a working composer who has tight time frames, they are incredible composing tools. I just can't wait to see what their next theme is!
Hey! Thanks for the kind words. I started with the Largo and Fantasy parts then dressed it all up with the other instruments. When using Sonokinetic phrase based libraries, I always write knowing I’ll be adding a main melody but I like finding melodic fragments from the Sonokinetic instruments. The little woods motif here for example. Then it’s a case of using MIDI drop to emphasise it if you like! They are really good fun to work with and sound great! :)
Great approach. Using the library melodic fragments to inform the main melody. Much easier than trying to wedge the library phrases to fit a predetermined melody. That was like rolling a stone uphill. Thanks!
A pity I found this a half year later. Missed the € 50 cheaper price. Especially since I'm Dutch - and Sonokinetic is Dutch as well. Where Sonokinetic talks about phrases, Sonuscore talks about 'animated'. Probably fun to combine it!
Hello. Thank you for your review. It is a cool and very good sounding library with no doubt. But it's not more difficult and limiting to find the right phrase rather than to create your own? Is it possible to amend an offset of some phrases to get sustains, staccato or pizzicato for strings, brass and woodwinds?
Hello Michal. You can take any phrase and use MIDI drop into your own instruments. You can then change pitches and articulations quite freely which makes these phrase based libraries very powerful tools indeed. Often a single phrase can spark a whole composition. Thanks!
Hey Pete, great review. I really have a very important question. What other string libraries with individual patches out there in the market that is close sounding to Fantasy? ... Since Fantasy is only a phrase lib, I want to use other similar sounding string libs with individual vln1, vln2, vla, vlc and basses to write the melody, harmony, textures or any other dressing to create on top of Fantasy. I will never mix and match phrases in a project. These phrases are good enough to inspire me and to get me going with my dressings in the arrangement. EDIT: Also, what other brass, woodwinds and percussion libraries that get along with Fantasy?
When composing, after the chord progression did you add the Fantasy and Largo and then add the melodic dressing? Great demo! I purchased it this morning and have just started playing with it.
This Library evokes Disney feels. This will surely get a lot of use! Thank you for the creative review!

Everything here is basically in D major, can it also play in the other 11 keys?
Quality comment. Of course it can! :D
If i may ask where did you sourced those fantasy images at the end of the video?
