Good advice. I always listen to my mixes on an Iphone. Great mixes actually sound surprisingly good when you hold the phone close. I also find that adding some saturation, and harmonic content adds to the translational ability to phones and tiny speakers. (Logic's exciter plug-in is actually pretty good for this).
Totally agree on the saturation bit. Helps glue things together; I'll often add a touch of tape saturation emulation to the mix bus. I find exciters to be a bit harsh in many cases, but that's just my opinion.
Other than outputting to an actual tape machine, the 3 best I've tried thus far are: Fabfilter Saturn2 (my go-to saturation plugin): mynewmicrophone.com/Fabfilter-Saturn2 Waves J37: mynewmicrophone.com/Waves-J37 Crane Song Phoenix II (expensive and Pro Tools only, unfortunately): mynewmicrophone.com/crane-song-phoenix-2 You may also be aware of the 'tape emulation trick' in Logic, where you insert a Tape Delay plugin, set it to 0 ms, no feedback, 100% wet, and effectively isolate its tape emulation controls. It can sound pretty good, but I typically opt for the Saturn2.
@@NVRLOSTT Really like the Saturn2. Logic actually has a tape saturator in one of the delays. I sure hope they update native plug-ins now that one of the UAD engineers is going over to Apple.
No advantage, I have this particular set up in my earliest videos because I was recording my voice into Logic Pro during recording and wanted it to be processed differently than my "mix bus" processing on the stereo out!

Awesome 👏
Thank you. Cheers!
What is the advantage of having a separate mixbus over inserting mixing plugins on the stereoout?

Man thank you
Glad to help!
