  • Advanced Engine Flushing fluid
    Designed to clean, lubricate and neutralise acid. Launch UK Advanced Engine Flush can be used on any petrol, diesel, or hybrid engine. gums and tars that are released from the oil during noral operation, will contaminate a sump area and constrict oilways and hydaulic lifters. This product will clean and clear contamination.
    Old oil left in the sump during an oil change will be very acidic and will attack the new oil. Acidic oil is neutralised upon application, which will ensure the new oil will last till the next service.
    Variable valve timing can be affected by contamination and fault codes that are related to it, suggest the system should be ivestigated. Often, contamination is the cause and a good quality flush and oild change is required.

    If you use a good quality, proper spec oil and change it more regularly than the manufacturer recommends. I can’t see any need to use this. Modern oils have gone through a thorough testing and have additives to help stop all the things you mentioned.

      One of the issues is that you can't guarantee the quality of oil that a dealership uses or, for a second hand car, what oil has been used by previous owner/s.

      Id never ever ever use this. Any decent componetent mechanic will know this. Not forgetting most cat being produced have wet belts now. Under no circumstances would you use this. And in reality why would you use launch? When the likes of forte and other have been producing stuff like this for 60 years

      Hi. I agree, waste of money on a well maintained engine. Also, if oil is acidic then it has used up all its additive package and is knackered.

      Just bought an old VX with the 1.4 XER 16 valve engine. 47k with FSH but it had sat for 3 years. I used a flush, changed oil and filter then went back a week later and done it again. I wouldn't normally of used a flush. Now its my car the oil and filter will be done every 6000 miles. It takes 10 mins to do and ill have peace of mind. I can see the point of a flush if a car has sat for a while or is poorly maintained. The XER engines are basic, reliable and dull as fuck however can have timing chain rattle if you dont look after the oil changes. Over 2000 miles since second oil change and it still looks clean!

      Although the flush manufacturer says it is fine, I always say don't use it! I also say to only use manufacturer oil and filter on wet belt engines. There is an obvious problem in the design and they are looking to wriggle out of any claims with any other reason.

    Great video fella. Many people thinks it's a waste of money changing their good quality oil every 6 mnths so it's every year to them even at 10,000m +, i do yearly oil changes (Petrol car) with good oil @3,500m MAX. But every 5/6 yrs i change my oil on the 6mnth mark then again 6mnths later....then continue my yearly oil change. I use Forte every 5 or 6yrs & always do what he did in the video,pour in less than 1L so it oozes out anything sitting at the bottom,that's important.

    Hi Jimmy the vw pd and cr engines they dont recommend flushing them due to stripping the lubrication on the hydraulic tappits.
    so i wouldnt want to put it in my skoda or vw really.
    id change the oil more regular and even do an oil change after 50 100 miles and then leave the second one till needed taxi drivers do their oil and filters every 5k.

    Not a fan of these high level ester based flushes. Removes too much sludge and tarnish in one go. Valvoline engine restore & protect has low level ester content that will gradually reduce crap over 5000miles and not clog the filter. After 3 rotations of 5000miles the majority of crap is cleaned out.

    I do my oil changes so I'm used to that black oil from a Diesel engine, even minutes after it being changed. But interesting enough, I've a small two wheels tractor, that I change the oil once in a while since it just takes a few liters. And I use a fully synthetic 5W40 I had from the car, and the tractor valves look spotless. As the oil level is hard to measure in the dipstick being so clean. My guess it's the random oil changes, and the tractor not having such tight tolerances, plus the detergent properties of the oil.

      I currently run 3 high millage Fords,
      an ex ambulance on 359K , had the perfect service regime, totally mint inside, runs sweet.
      A 1.4 firsta PSA 1.4tdci on 153K , terrable service recotd, was sludged up inside, came to me at 120K with a heavy knock from the lifters, 2 oil flushes followed by 2 500 mile normal oil chsnges and its fine and been fine for over 30K.
      Transit connect 1.8 , again bought it with no kno ks but sludged up inside, 1 flush cleaned it up nice and I've had it 3 years and put 35K on it no issues, so it does work
      in the right circumstances, it a tool, like any other tool you need to know when and when not to use it 👍

      Any abused or older engine has to be treated with care. 5 minutes with the flush in won't harm. Multiple changes will help. If an engine is worn then it's the wear thats the problem. There are all sorts of treatments to help. Modern engines should not get that old sludge problem, like the CVH in days of old.

    personally i think if you use an engine flush from when the car is new it would be fine but start using it on a high mileage car it would cause more problems after all it is removing carbon deposits and build ups the best way is to oil change your car regular and i mean before the manufacturer recommends as the oil as additives to help clean your engine as well but that's just my opinion .

      @RogerM88 I would say that is probably the safer bet but if you say to an owner who's bought on a car with a knocking follower oki can try a flush for £20 + a filter or I can try multiple oil changes at £30 + a filter PER OIL CHANGE. I think we both know what the answer would be 👍

    Interesting that none of the real experts regarding engine oil, the oil manufacturers dont make their own engine flush products. If engine oil manufacturers thought that flushing liquids were necessary, they would take advantage of the situation to sell you an additional product. Also some of the oil including flushing agent will get left behind. Does this affect the additive package of your new oil?

    • @richardcollyer3558

      Castrol Engine Shampoo is available as with many others. The flush neutralises within an hour and will not affect new oil.

    • @hughmarcus1
      @hughmarcus1 3 месяца назад

      They’ve got to market their oil products.
      If they produce additional agents or flushes they’re effectively saying that their oil isn’t good enough on its own.
      It’s more about marketing than anything else

    • @Dirt-Diggler
      @Dirt-Diggler 3 месяца назад

      Who are these REAL experts exactly??
      the oil manufacturers who test to strict procedures and never mention what will happen if you abuse thier products or the mechanics who see these issues day in day out 365 for literally decades 🤔
      My partner is 78, been a spanner monkey since he was 18 and e uses flush depending on the circumstances of the job, he KNOWS what can or will work and what won't, flush is a tool, like all tools you need to know when it's worth using it and when it's not, I've saved many more engines than I've killed with engine flush, (killed 2, saved hundreds) the 2 i finished off where a CVH and a PDI both where barely running before the flush, both lost oil pressure due to main bearing slop none have ever suffered from oil pickup clogging CAUSED by an oil flush, in every case the pickup was clogged before the flush.

    • @richardcollyer3558
      @richardcollyer3558 3 месяца назад +1

      @@Dirt-Diggler I totally agree with you. CVH and PDI were problem engines in those days. It was a heat transfer problem, that caused emulsified oil that would block the strainer. Now, use a quality flush on every service mainly to neutralise acid in the crankcase. Hotter fuel, more ash content, loads of reasons to use it.
