when I am happy, I listen to Radiohead; when I am sad, I listen to Radiohead.
Aria Trueblood when I'm horny I'm listening to radiohead too,i love this band so much more then I love my girlfriend...lol😣😣😁
This is their greatness
You are not alone :-)
@@bimberiman Indeed!
Can't believe for all of Jonny Greenwood's immense talent, he's still reduced to lemon shaking duties during Reckoner
I would think he has the humility to not have to always show off.
Yesterday he woke up sucking a lemon
From the looks of it, he's also on some electric piano or keyboard too. But also, don't diss the lemon
@@itchykami this is the whole reason he’s the musician he is init.
Thoms way of showing who's boss
"Weird Fishes" is a genius song and definitely one of their best.
Hell yea
Every song on here is a genius song and definitely on of their best.
It sounds sick at the end
Without a doubt, my personal favorite. Its just a genius song, perfectly structured and executed, in this case.
The keyboard melody of Staircase is the best it’s so haunting and beautiful

Radiohead should be declared an international treasure
I'm prouder for them to be just a national treasure
I think they already are.
they should be protected by the UNESCO
Thom's mouth is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, I believe.
I’m very happy to be living and experiencing these geniuses as they create and to be gifted with each album as it gets released.
So glad Radiohead stuck to their gut and didn't become another slave to the record companies. Its amazing that thom can translate what is going on in his head into something so beautiful. What a gift.
Radiohead is not one man with one vision, they are a group. It's amazing the band can translate THEIR work into something beautiful. :) Peace
radiohead is 1 genius songwriter plus 4 genius arrangers
Might wanna check how many songs are composed by Jonny Greenwood.
@@EdwardBIl Thom writes most of the core songs, Jonny said in many interviews that he's there for arrangements, guitar elements and string stuff. They're really working as a group though, every member adds something meaningful.
Radiohead is truly amazing. If you get bored of playing all their albums on repeat I recommend you listen to the tool, lorn, tame impala, and alt-j, although Radiohead is of course, exceptional and different in a way from all of them. And also don't just talk about Thom. He's great but I hate when only frontmen are considered the best
Scotch Mist has got to be my favorite live-performance-thing of Radiohead. Even more than the basement. Scotch mist is more like a film. It has its own personality.
ya i wish they made one for AMSP
Yes. Love From the Basement, but Scotch Mist is more my jam
Love it so much. Every couple of months, it's time to put it on again.
It's in my top 5 faves too. But I saw them do Holy Roman Empire live and it took my breath away. It was just Thom on piano in the dark until the refrain and then the rest of the band came in for the build up. They jammed out on that for like 5 minutes too.
@Mubaka Lalak the basements cool and all but it feels like you’re watching a band recording in a studio. This is like you’re taking a peek into their mind. Idk.
14 years later and I am still blown away by this album and this particular version.
but what about The Basement version!
@@maticant would be better if it had all the songs
🤝🏽
I remember when this released it was cold and so brilliant
I remember hearing about this the day it would be streamed live, New Year's Eve. I just happened to catch it right as it started and I watched it from start to finish like I was in a trance. It was something special; something for the shut-ins, the people without any plans. I appreciated the hell out of it and it's one of my best New Year's memories despite the fact that I sat at home and basically did nothing other than watching this as it happened.
I remember being worried the stream would suck, but it actually worked perfectly. I'm watching again now for New Year's. 🥂
Happy New Year....at least we still have this! Hope this new year is healthy & better 4 us all
Jealous, my eyes are green rn lol.
Same here. Just channel surfing and stumbled upon it as it started. Amazing. Trance is the perfect word to use.
Sounds like a great new years eve to me
In Rainbows is the sexiest Radiohead album by far
ok computer!
Sooooo far! thats an orgy of feelings straight to the ears. Personally I think Radiohead has self unique genre of music, thats all emotional, revolutionary, rage, other world melancholia, and pure and soft Love. Sorry my english is pretty bad.
wow
!!!Yeah¡¡¡ Sure, we made our daughter with this album, !!definitely unforgettable¡¡¡
agreed
Thom's scream in the middle of bodysnatchers was a wonderful touch
It gave me anyone can play guitar live at the pool house flashbacks
His barking in 15 step is also amazing
21:04 is special
-Ed selects the right pad combination
-Jhonny seems like really digging something
-Phil checking his hi-hat if it's still in the same place
Thom has such an iconic tenor voice. But when he came in on jigsaw falling into place his baritone sound blew me away. Its great that he uses his low register so sparingly that it always sounds striking when it happens, but I'd love to hear him come out with some new songs that incorporate his lower voice more.
Nathan Kolbe wolf in the door
...didn't think that WAS yorke till chorus till I saw him sing it lol
Also check his lower range voice on the 1998 Velvet goldmine soundtrack for Venus in furs; Roxy music cover of " Ladytron" it's amazing!
He seems to use it quite often in his latest solo works. Several songs from Anima spring to mind, actually.
You're so right! Ever heard the song, Indian Rubber? In the verses, Thom's voice tumbles "like a clown" into his lower register, which adds to the humor of this odd song.
The first time i heard this song i was blown away. When he cracks back into his usual register it gives so much energy to the track
Wish I had someone to share Radiohead with.
You do. You share them with the whole world.. ;)
aw, this makes me sad. May you find your person.
Sup, friend. wanna talk about Radiohead? :)
If you had someone you wouldn't enjoy Radiohead that much. Just my opinion. But I'm a sociopath who loves Radiohead, so...
I remember when I was you.
my girl at the time loved this video. Thank you radiohead for giving us a background to the best moments of my teen years. We fell apart and haven't spoken in years but still the music remains. Piss foam party, indeed
+msbtrock very nice

+msbtrock Holy shit. It's the same situation in here dude. I presented her Radiohead, we used to hear a lot togheter. We broke some months ago.
Music will always make me remind the moments.
plus 1
Same here +3
When you can't tell the difference between a live session and a recorded album, you know the band is great. York's vocals in this session are insanely good. So good.
WHAT´S AMAZING ABOUT RADIOHEAD IS THAT YOU WOULD LISTEN TO THEIR ALBUMS, AND THINK IT´S OVERPRODUCED, BUT THEY ACTUALLY MAKE IT SIMPLE AND THEY CAN DO ALL THE SYNTHS, EFFECTS, ETC... LIVE
WHY ARE YOU YELLING?
I don't believe in the concept of overproduced. MORE LAYERS!
Yes, i always have to hear their live song versions before coming to a true opinion of the songs.
Kasabian is over produced they can't play the songs live so they have to call in season musicians
@@AlbumHub I AM NOT YELLING. I AM WRITING. THE REASON WHY I USE CAPS IS BECAUSE I HAVE VISION PROBLEMS, SO FORGIVE ME FOR THAT.
i love them because no other band described better what does it feels like to be alive
coming back to this album years later. in retrospect this album contains some of radiohead's best moments: weird fishes, nude, reckoner... it's all very atmospheric, haunting, and emotional. top quality.
Well said!

This is where it's from? That's actually a short story in Stanley Donwood's book, Humor. haha.
I always thought its piss-phone party.. whats piss foam ?
Bálint Ujvári "One day I found out that my urine was acting like a powerful foaming agent" is one of the lines before that. Still, yeah, that whole thing is kind of ridiculous, haha.
There is no other album that I can listen through and never feel the need to skip a song. Radiohead nailed it 100%

same, i litteraly love every song on this album. no weak ones.

That is Exactly what you want in a drummer, all business, and a tight beat, you don't need a huge kit to play it on, just play it right, and bring it like a workingman. I sense some jazz influence in his drumming for some reason, it just has that type of sparse perfection, even in rock songs, such versatility.

It will sound like a cliche, but Thom's voice is utterly beautiful on the In Rainbows songs, in the House of Cards intro. and Nude especially. I love how Jonny can mimic the vocal melody so suitably with his instrumentation, on the Ondes and guitar.
I wish I can go back to 2008 and feel the experience of the album In Rainbows all over again. Even though the album was released in 2007, it was gifted to me as part of a graduation present. My sister didn’t know what to get me for graduation gifts. She saw this album in Hastings (yes, when Hastings was alive) and just had this suspicious feeling I’m going to really like this album. So, while just freshly graduated and starting my summer into the real world, I listened to the album. Start to finish. It became the album of my summer. Never stopped listening to it. I thank my sister so much for getting me this album.
Big shouts to Hastings
Radiohead is a spiritual experience.
The energy in Bodysnatchers is off the chain
Radiohead is the truest definition of other worldly musicality. They make me feel like my heart is going to explode out of my chest in a kaleidoscope of colors. Please keep making your powerful art.

It doesn't get much better than these dudes.
2007 really was a good year. Even if I didn't see it that way back then. And despite my dad having a stroke that year. It was still a good year. I miss my friends from that time. I miss the optimism.
Well at least we have a new song... Right?

Just came back to pay my respects to the video that got me into radiohead 14 years ago... This video is as old as I was when I first watched it. Happy New Year
Gosh, I hope they do something like this for A Moon Shaped Pool.
maybe when the tour is over
me too!
y2dvd i love the thom, jonny and a cr78 videos
The incredible music videos they made for AMSP make up for it tho
they did, but they didn't like it. it's kinda sad.
Been listening to this recording for years...never gets old.
Don’t know that much about music and the engineering aspect but I to hear the drumming on all Radiohead songs makes me think that it’s so much more then just keeping tempo, Selway is genius
Drumming, followed by bass, are the foundation of music. Without them, songs sound acoustic (if that’s a good word to describe it)
I was showing my little girl some of yall's songs when I realized I didn't listen to this around the holidays for the first time in about a decade. Hope you guys are doing well!
My favourite Radiohead period. And this session is great rock art. Masterpiece.
What scotch mist is their scotch mist?
Scotch Mist is:
A Lancashire/Yorkshire idiom meaning something that does not exist or is worthless e.g. "What do you want? Scotch Mist?"
An idiom which in the United Kingdom means a cold and penetrating mist that verges on rain.
In the United Kingdom an idiom meaning something that is hard to find or doesn't exist (something imagined).
Scottish term given to a persistent drizzle with poor visibility, especially on moors and out at sea (also called smirr), which poses risks of hypothermia to walkers, and of navigation and collision danger to sailors.
Humorously, to refer to drunken confusion.
The name of episode 5 of the 2004 Channel 4 series Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
The name of a webcast of a private concert by UK band Radiohead, streamed by Current TV on 31st December 2007.
A drink with 2oz of Scotch Whisky, ice and a lemon peel. Appeared in 1946 movie The Big Sleep with Humphrey Bogart and the 2013 movie Saving Mr. Banks.

I like the idea of that rain that isn’t rain but that mist that drenches and washes over you despite not ever really raining. That’s In Rainbows for me.
I think it’s worth pointing out that they streamed this on the internet…NYE 2007. I’d have to think not many musicians were doing this back then. So far ahead of their time, yet again.
Future Sound of London did it 13 years earlier
they could have replaced that crappy u2 album with this one on my ipod and ida been cool with that. but didnt they also offer Rainbows free via download on their website before it was released?
This is absolute heaven. I've found my bliss, listening to my favorite album in a echoey, dreamy style.
to think of where i was when i first watched this video...i had a girlfriend, my family were talking to me and i had a career to be proud of. and now i have nothing...but i'm happier than ever and this video still means the world to me. music is timeless but it's also absorbent to memories...whenever i hear these songs i'm taken right back to that place i was in during 2007...growing up is weird man!! i love life but somedays it sure does scare me!!
We surely are and have gone through a rough patch in human existence, not everything is going alright that's why Videotape is so meaningful to me then and now, tough times indeed but we have to pull through together or alone, fighting the good fight, and never giving up. ( "I won't turn round when the penny drops, won't stop now won't slack off, or all this love, would been in vain"- The Present tense.)
same
beautiful write up man. Similar situation, but I'm happy we will always have these albums to keep with us over the years. Home.

Wow...this version of Videotape is spectacular. So much more atmospheric and haunting.
10+ years on and this album still feels like the most incredible thing in the world to me. I really don't know how anyone even talks about other bands or musicians when there is a band like Radiohead out there making the music they make.
The ebb & flow of emotion & energy in this album/film accurately mirrors the ups & downs of life.

I keep coming back here because this album is so good, and just love that they play it live the whole way through. it says so much about the band.
Song after song of pure excellence.
Stanley Donwood is one of my favourite artists. his cultural importance has been somewhat devalued because he works in the "music industry" buone of the most important artists to come along since Cy Twombly & Jean Michel Basquiat
but he is one *
Basquiat is so fuckin underrated
don't know if he can rival basquiat in cultural relevance though, his work is not quite as obviously out there and... well... he's just a bit more sane, which tends to gain less traction i guess
I'm a musician and can only wonder how fun and intense it must be to be in a band like Radiohead, at that point its not even fun its a true enjoyment.
Thanks again, Radio Head. Another New Year's with this amazing collaboration. Of all the years that this was needed, this is the one that deserves it the most thus far. Good bye, 2020.
This has got to be one of my favorite live performances of all time. I keep coming back to it over and over again...makes my heart break every time. This needs to be restored to a high def transfer and preserved forever.
Happy 2007 for everyone!

Minute 16:00 after they take the piss out of us, that subtle acoustic song is incredibly beautiful, I wish an entire album of this type of music could be produced and performed. The gentle Radiohead is brilliant even stripped down to the base essentials.
